I've been reading some threads returned via search, and the Wiki, but I'd like clarification.
Will an un-locked Dream, with an AT&T sim-card, be able to use the AT&T 3G data network?
Thanks, Barry

3g no, edge yes.

US T-Mobile HD2 on AT&T? Yes or no?

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is implied or even obvious to some of you out there from the technical specs scattered around this website (and others) on the different flavors of HD2, but I'm unable to reach a conclusive conclusion on my own, so I'll simply plead ignorance and ask it outright:
If I buy a US T-Mobile and attempt to use it on the AT&T network with my 3G AT&T SIM card, which of the following will happen, to the best of your knowledge?:
It won't work at all.
It will work, but only for EDGE access.
It will work as a 3G phone just fine.
It will work on At&t, but GSM only, meaning only voice and edge. You will not be able to get 3G, no matter what rom or radio you flash.
Yep, the above is correct. It will work on Edge only. However, do note that the phone would have to be unlocked first. If you just switch the SIM cards it will not work
currently, it won't work at all.
No one has reported to unlock this beast successfully.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll stay away from this experiment then.
ive got mines unlock and im loving it despite the t-mo brand at the top other then that im loving it.im only egde but it really doesnt matter.
buy the telstra hd2, it will work on att 3G

I successfully unlocked my T-Mobile HD2 yesterday (to switch back to AT&T) after visiting the following site: htccode.com
It'll cost about 25 Euros to get unlocked... Also, the support person is pretty responsive.

In looking at the band frequencies for the HD2, it appears that you may be able to set it up for AT&T's flavor of 3G. Is this correct?

Yeah, the GSM(1900+850) in the band frequencies threw me off. I thought that was what AT&T used for 3G. Doesn't matter to me, I'm on T-Mobile anyway... and I keep my 3G off most of the time for battery conservation, lol.

Yes it is with LTE, but as far as I'm aware they won't have a regular 3G GSM network to backup their LTE. So, I'd expect Verizon LTE devices to have a SIM card, but outside of LTE coverage they will drop back to Verizons CDMA network.
Your Tab is neither a CDMA nor an LTE device, so won't work with any of Verizons networks.

Dave

Piggybacked network

I'm looking to buy a Dev edition Verizon S5. My network is bluegrass cellular which is a small carrier that piggybacks off of the Verizon towers. My question is if I purchase this phone will it work with my network? My net uses Sim cards and I miss the days when putting it in the phone was all it took haha. The phone my network sells specifically is the SM-G900R6 which I'm guessing will have almost 0 Dev support and I seriously miss rooting :crying: and aokp and cyanogenmod ect

Well I apologize for missing that but I have to ask will this give me full functionality eg 4g and everything? Since this carrier shares Verizon towers and such I thought it should but I'd like to be sure I won't have any issues before I throw money at someone lol. Please excuse my ignorance

Well, if you have a Bluegrass Phone, and Bluegrass SIM, then I do not see why it wouldn't run the 4G if that is something your carrier offers. If Verizon has the 4G there, and your carrier offers it as an option, then I would think you will be fine.

Nah I'm saying I'd purchase a Verizon phone and was asking if the 4g would work Verizon phone with bluegrass Sim but I checked the thread over there someones using a tmo Sim and their 4g is fully functional so I'm guessing mine will be fine too. Thanks!

Will AT&T s7 edge work for T-mobile?

Is it possible to get an AT&T S7 edge to work on t-mobile? And what steps would I take to make it work? I am kind of a noob when it comes to unlocking and flashing.

Best bet is to pay an Unlocked Company for a code or stay on AT&T service for a couple months and try to get them to give you an unlocked code.

Root Achieved? Is this real?!?

I came across this today, I REALLY hope it's real!

Very interesting! We are getting closer. The commenters on that board are thinking the phone is a Sprint variant. I don'the know enough about the S7 to know exactly how different it is from a Verizon phone.
Yes it is real. It is on a T-mobile S7 Edge. Here is the thread.
