hi all i am a bit new here but have followed the forums for 2 years and it really been helpful keepup the good work.
i was having this strange problem when i talk for really long time and dissconnect the call the call timer at the time of dissconnection, it shows say some thing like 1:49 and seconds later it displaces another time saying 48:59 this happens to me quite a lot.
i have noticed it only happens when the backlight goes off on a long duration call and if u have a short duration call before the bcaklight goes off this problem doesnt occur.
wondering if any one has noticed this and if there a way around it or is it something wrong with my handset
thanks all u guys
Take a look at your clock when you put your phone out of stand-by mode.
It lags a bit. After 1 second, the right time will be displayed. Off course the device has to be in stand-by some time.
Kind of the same as your call timer I think, the device needs to wake up a bit.
(Like ppl who just woke up, they can't think clear)
Is anyone else finding that their phone takes so long to turn on sometimes that they miss a call? On average my phone takes 2 full rings to start ringing itself. When it's 4 rings to voicemail, that halves the time I have to pick up the phone!
I find it takes 2-4 seconds to turn it on normally.
Anyone else with this issue? I'm running the latest LVSW.
If you go into the phone settings you'll see that you can adjust the amount of seconds the phone rings before forwarding to voicemail. The default is 20 seconds, but this can be increased to 30 seconds.
Also, you don't have to turn the phone on to answer a call, just hit the green phone button.
Another thing to do is to get a bluetooth headset, then you won't have to worry about having to fiddle with the phone to answer a call.

I would like to do that as well - but can't find the setting within my phone's options, can you give details how to do that?
Thanks
Barney
Go into Phone options ---> Services --> Call Forwarding and choose get settings. This should then give you a dialogue box where you can tell it how long to ring for before going to VM
Cheers,
Smiffy.
Start | Phone | Menu | Options | Services | Call Forwarding | Get Settings
Excellent - Thanks, mine was set to just 15 secs, now set it to 30 secs - much better.
Cheers
Barney

It's a common WM6 (and WM5?) problem that the Hermes has a few seconds startup delay when receiving a call. Don't think anyone has a solution yet.
This is so bad. The xperia illuminates for just 5 mins against a missed call or a txt message. Now if you are not in front of your cell you have to come back within 5 mins to see the illum. And if if you are not able to come back within 5 mins you'll not see the illum so you'll miss the missed call or the sms too. This is so boring. Is there any way to extend the time of the illumination till my hands touch it?
Please rep ASAP.
Start-->Settings-->System-->Illumination = problem solved
Nope. The right way is settings--personal--sounds & notifications--notifications--phone:missed call--flash light for XXX, which is what you want. As for text message, just select new text message.
Whenever there is a reminder, and the device is suspended,
the screen turns on for about 15 seconds.
I would like to know if there is a way I can make this time longer (lets say, 30 seconds).
I tried the HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Power/Timeouts/*ResumingSuspend
registry, but still - it remained 15 seconds.
Any Ideas ?
I'd like to know if there is a way to decrease the delay time (in my case 15 seconds) from "autolock on" to device low power (when screen is black but always on) cos I want to save battery.
So the screen locks down after 15 seconds but I want it to set (f.e.) to 5 seconds or less_
Is it possible?
Bye
