Engineering Menu? - XPERIA X1 General

I'm a newbie to the X1 (just got it yesterday) and Windows Mobile (coming from years with Samsungs and S60), how do I access the engineering menu on the X1 if it's possible?

unlike almost all other phones, Windows Mobile Devices doesn't have (afaik) an engineering menu.
instead, all the settings are accessable from Windows Registery (YES WM have a registery).
cheers

Cool! Opera is great on the desktop. Can you explain more about its strengths and weaknesses? Does it work in VGA mode?

yes, if you set the fonts to be smooth and small. Outstanding. A little bit of pain for your eyes, though.
Probably the rendering is more suitable for a portrait smartphone screen, but I think it will change when the definitive program will be released.

I tried it a couple of months ago. Ignore that it only works on smartphones, worked fine on my XDAII (Mobile 2005). I think i just extracted the cabs out and installed it manually.
Gonna try it again on EXEC hopefully it will make browsing easier.

SmartToolkit on WM6: does it run?

I was wondering if anybody else has tried SmartToolkit ALPHA-3C and got it running.
It does not start on my device with the LVSW WM6 (20070326_WM6_HERMES_WWE_3.23.0.2_1.38.00.10)
The developers page is a little vague about the system requirements

The Hermes is not a "Windows Mobile Smartphone" it's a "Windows Mobile PocketPC Phone Edition".

You are correct. Somebody on the developers site answered the same way. Thought a ppc-phone=smartphone... Thought wrong...
Thanks for replying anyway!

Timeset in SnapVue

Dear Forum
How can i set the time in SnapVue. My timesettings in SnapVue and Vista are different.
Nick
You must liberate your device first
Your device is not yet "liberated" therefore you cannot access the regional settings in your Windows Mobile side of the device.
Use the liberation tools and then you will have more WM6 functions back, also the regional settings icon.

Emulate Imagio without a real device

Hello,
I'm getting reports from my customers that one of features in my software does not work properly on Imagio devices.
Is there any way to emulate Imagio on PC so that I can see it myself?
You could try emulate the Win Mo 6.5 and maybe check the problem without have a Imagio...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=20686a1d-97a8-4f80-bc6a-ae010e085a6e
Unfortunately (fortunately?) it works fine on the WM 6.5 emulator
I will test out your app on my imagio if you send it to me. I could also possibly hook it up to VS and let you have a look via RDP if that would help.
Thanks for the offer! Please check Hi-Launcher from hilauncher.com to see if you can reproduce the problems reported by this user:
I still cannot select anything from the "Item Type" drop down menu.
Also when the application launched I selected the "Default Menu" options
but instead of the hi launcher menu I get the regular Windows Mobile 6.5
Start Menu.
This was tested on an HTC Imagio.

If so, then I can try to fix it with your help so as to finally send you the working full version

Windows SideShow BT connection problem

Hi all,
Using Windows7 x86 Ultimate and I am trying to connect HD2 (factory ROM) to a PC.
I´ve already solved de missing BT driver (used Microsoft Corporation Mobile Device Driver).
But Windows Sideshow does not connect.
I got Sync and file transfer working. It seems “well paired”
Even previously I had it working with Qtek S200 and Vista.
But now it all sucks big time.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance.
You need to enable SideShow using the local group policy editor, gpedit.msc

Thanks for the tip.
I followed this how-to
1.Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
2.Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and then select Windows SideShow in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
3.Double-click Turn off Windows SideShow in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
4.Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.

But it was already ok
Even, the icon is not present at the control panel of W7. I had to search and then copy a shortcut.
I believe there is something wrong with the drivers used by W7.
Any other clues?
Is it a Windows Sideshow problem?
Did W7 stop supporting Sideshow?

I gather from the developer preview page on the Microsoft site that this will only work on Windows 7 if initially paired with a machine running Windows Vista!
Also, the Sideshow control panel applet is only visible if a sieshow gadget has been installed. However one can open the applet by searching for "Sideshow" in the Help and Supprt, and navigating one of the resulting links.

Thanks!
Nevertheless, pairing 1st with a Vista machine is not an option.
I had found the WSS applet in Windows7, but the problem remains.
Too bad, it was such a great way to control a HTPC with windows7...
