Palm Treo Pro with BMW i-drive - Palm Treo Pro

Can anyone explain why my Palm Treo Pro will not send the contacts to my BMW i-Drive? This works fine with an HTC Diamond Touch. Both devices run Win Mobile 6 Pro and remote sim access is turned on in both cases.
Weird.
Any help really appreciated as the Treo pro is by far the better handset. Battery life alone makes it a MUCH better tool.

It is likely a different BlueTooth stack causing the inability to sync contacts. BMW uses a very specific stack and not that many phones will sync the entire list. In my BMW, it would only sync the numbers I had set up as speed dials.

Try jetware
try jetware, it is a 30-day trial so You don`t have to buy it before knowing that its working fine and it might help

MDA Compact (MDAc) and BMW Bluetooth Module (SA633)

Hi
I just got my new BMW 330 (E90) with Navigation and Bluetooth. I can pair my MDAc but that's it.
When a call comes in, My BMW signals it. Sometimes I can get the call with the button in the steering wheel. Sometimes not. Sometimes I can but the connection breaks down in the middle of the call.
I see the reception of my MDAc in the display and when a call comes I also see the number of the caller.
I cannot make a call (dial out).
I read a lot but did not find a solution yet. Has anyone experience with BMW carkits or any advice what to change in order to get it going. I sort of refuse to have another handy...
BTW I have the latest T-Mobile Update (1.12) but I did not install everything from the extended ROM.
I have exactly the same problem with Audi bluetooth, with my Nokia 6230 works perfectly, with my S100 I have the same problems you have experienced. I have an old ROM 1.06, but I see that even with 1.12 the problems are not solved.
I tell what I tried: I've installed various BT stacks (Toshiba, Widcomm, Bluesoleil also with crack). Toshiba pairs but does not find any service, Widcomm does not run, Bluesoleil does not have the needed profiles.
I have installed the CAB from VCABT project (see the thread in this forum), I can answer from the car I can call using the car voice command but I can't use the S100 buttons.
Hope that somebody could help us.
dgv
fdigianv, have you tried the new A2DP Stereo BT Tool to see if it works better with your Audi.
I just upgraded my JAM to 1.12 and have yet to try it with my Audi A6 4.2 2005 MMI BT System.
I'm tired of waiting for Audi to fix anything. It seems like the only fixes or upgrades they offer come in the form of a new car release.
I like you can call out from the Audi, but those on thger other end of the call complain about sound quality.
I'm getting ready to make a move to the new Treo MS Mobile device, or a smartphone that works better with my Audi.
I spoke to BMW this morning and they claim has more to do with the version of Bluetooth installed on the phone than BMW's implementation of Bluetooth.
BMW supports Bluetooth verson 2 and up.

mda pro help

i am not really sure which section of the forum i should post this in
Hi there
I am due for an upgrade on my t mobile contract so I was going to go for the MDA 3,
I have tom-tom software waiting ready to install on the MDA 3 as soon as I receive it, I have just had delivered today the holux gps receiver cr-100 that fits the MDA 3,
I have since noticed that the MDA pro is available and what I am wondering does anyone know if the tom-tom software is likely to work on the MDA pro and will the cr-100 car cradle that I have bought work with the MDA pro as well
This will be my 1st phone of this type so I am not really sure of the ins and outs
Any help great or small will be appreciated
can someone tell me if i have posted this in the right catagory please
The best thing to do is speak to the TT support peeps to clarify whether it is compatible with WinCE 5.01.
The holux gps receiver cr-100 will not fit the Pro because they have done away with the port connector they used to use on the mda3 and replaced it with USB.
I find the good thing about the Pro is that you can just flip it open and sit it in front of your dials without obstructing your speedometer. This also helps with the sound, it appears to sound a little clearer when positioned in such a way.
The only bummer is that if you have the adapter plugged in it doesnt sit as nice but the tablet style screen soon sorts that out.
I would go for the pro if TT is compatible.
The MDA3 was never really supported very well but it did have pocket mesenger and xbackup which are both sorely missed on the Pro.
cheers thank you, thats a great help i guess being as i have paid for the other stuff i will stick with my origional thinking and go with the mda iii,

Microsoft Autoroute 2007 GPS not working

Hi People,
Until the folks here @ XDA-DEV succesfully hack their way in the Shift to get :
- SD card access
- Bluetooth Access
- Wifi Access
- optional HDD access
it's still impossible to navigate using the WinMo part of this gem.
So.. I installed Microsoft Autoroute 2007 Europe, and tried to connect a bluetooth
GPS to the HTC shift.
- paired my HUDGPS (polaris brand.. also a Heads-Up-Display for in your car!!)
- pairing tells me I got two new serial ports, an SPP and serial port (com4 and com5)
- I start autoroute, configure it to use either com4 or 5, but fails. It says that the comport might actually
already be in use, or , the other port, it says : cannot open comport.
Usually, I'm not easily defeated, so I changed the comports in the device manager to 21 and 22 to
see if I could make it work this way.
Still no joy, it even deleted all comports without my consent, and had to de-pair and re-pair (aha!)
the Bluetooth GPS to get my comports back.
Even after that, I just cannot get Microsoft Autoroute 2007 to work with the BT GPS.
I will post more info (can I use other software etc...) soon, maybe someone already tried
to install navigation stuff and has a few comments.
Also, if you still own a fossil PDA like the Kaiser, checkout http://www.reperion.com/newclient

i don't want to disappoint you, but the WM side of the shift is a kaiser.
I haven't tried Microsoft's GPS navigation software, mainly because they don't have the maps (even if they did, it probably would be rather outdated) for my country.
For what it's worth, I have installed both Garmin Mapsource coupled with its nRoute program, as well as MapAsia's MapKing GPS navigation programs on my Shift, paired with my GSpace GPS receiver via BT, and both programs work. I use a "third party" gateway - Franson's GPSGate - as a go between, between the GPS receiver and both software.
Works flawlessly.

Automapa EU works well on vista side. Cheked with Rikaline GPS 6036 - SiRF Star III SOC v2 and GPS GB735 NAVIBE both without any problems
Sygic 7.53 and Igo 8 working fine on Vista side (with usb and bt gps receiver)
How do you use Igo on Vista?

I'm not dissapointed at all I actually own a Kaiser. It was more or less a joke, badly brought, I agree
By the way, thank you people for posting about your successes, this means I'm doing something wrong. How hard can it be to pair a GPS and use it ?
I'm using MS Streets and Trips 2008 (North American equivalent to Autoroute) with a Holux GPSlim240 and it is working flawlessly. I can't remember much but didn't have any issues/quirks during set up. I've just used it a couple of times to test but not since, 'cause I have a 7in touchscreen built-in nav in my car that has traffic updates through Sirius sat radio here (no need for internet), but I still like the option of course
ah ha
finally found somebody has same problem with GPS receiver with Autoroute 2007.
but seems there isn't a clear solution for this issue.
seems like the Autoroute is the problem, i tried with GPS Viewer with Correct port it recognises the gps unit and correctly indicates cordinates.
if i can't find solution soon i will try to find another software as successful users found.
Im the starter of this post, here's the promised update !
Autoroute 2007 just WON'T work on the Shift. I tried a million different combinations of COM ports and security settings, no joy,
As soon as I try to use another GPS program like VisualGPS CE it will connect to the bluetooth receiver just fine.
My best bet is that Autoroute 2007 needs a GPS receiver that is Microsoft Compatible in contrast with the other 99% GPS programs
Will download a trial of Automapa EU now. THanks everyone.

I've got it working with the Bluetooth TomTom GPS receiver.
No problems with it.
could you share with us your port settings and , by any chance, does your GPS say it's 100% NMEA 2.0 compliant ?
a creensie of your BT Comport section would be nice

Hmmm...does this mean a Kaiser ROM could be flashed to it?

No, it means it is technically the same hardware (qualcomm msm7200) with different HTC PID, different aux devices, etc. So ROMs are *NOT* compatibles.

HTC Touch Pro Hands Free Bluetooth terminating after call

Hello, I just bought my new HTC Touch Pro. I noticed that when I use my bluetooth handsfree it connects with no problems, but after the first telephone call (few seconds after terminating the call) the hands free bluetooth connection drops and the handsfree is left "in the air". I have to shutdown my handsfree bluetooth and restart it to automatically connect to the HTC TP. Next call comes, hang up, bluetooth connection dead again...
Previous phone (ETEN Glofiish X650 never had a problem with my Sony Ericsson BT hands free). Has anyone found any solution?
Dimi
I have same problem on Polaris after upgrading to Official WWE 6.1
What radio are you using?
Same Problem with Excalibur
Hi juys.
Sorry about wake this thread but i have the same problem with my HTC s620 "Excalibur" when connecting to Nokia car hands free speaker.
Wonder if there is any Solution for this issue
Windows Mobile 6.5 3VOL ROM
Radio 4.1.13.34
I'm sorry to report that this issue is also exhibited with the following headunit and phones:
Head unit: Kenwood DNX8220BT
Phones:
HTC Tytn2 with WM 6.1
HTC Tytn2 with WM 6.5
HTC Touch Diamond with WM 6.1
Sony Ericsson Experia X1 with WM 6.1
A simple dumbphone like the Nokia 6233 will work perfectly but all above WM smartphones are having trouble.
Also HTC S-740
It seems that this issue started since WM 6.1 Does anyone know what changed in the Bluetooth stack?
Microsoft Blames the headunits. Funny thing is that the Kenwood unit is listed on the Bluetooth SIG website which in turn is used by Microsoft as a reference.
On the MS website there are a lot of references to the jetware software but I have tested it without any positive results.
I've seen a post where someone reports that the installation of MS Voice command solved the issue. I will try that on the Tytn2 with WM 6.5
Within a few days I should be receiving the HD2 as well. I'm keeping fingers crossed..

Share HTC GPS data via BT ?

Hi,
I have an old Dell X50 that has a bigger screen than my HTC Topaz.
Thus I'd like to put on the X50 a navigation software (Tomtom or whatever) that will be associated via Bluetooth with the Topaz' GPS.
Thus the Topaz will still be fully available to phone with.
Is there a piece of software that could share the Topaz’ GPS signal via BT for other devices?
The best would be that the GPS is still available for the Topaz as well.
Cheers.
try GPS2Blue http://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html
it's freeware
regards
Thansk a lot !
