I was wondering if anybody would ever consider making a panel to play Sirius/XM radio on our X1. Could this be a possibility?
I only know about Sirius from some friends online in the US who talk about it.
I've found an application that access the web streams for Sirius radio channels, but like all Sirius things, you'll need a subscription.
The program is called StarPlayr and you can find out more about it from here.
http://forums.geekstoolbox.com/showthread.php?p=14351
If you need some help with getting a login for Sirius online, their FAQ may help...
http://forums.geekstoolbox.com/showpost.php?p=14353
Now like I said, I'm not in the US but I'm sure I could throw together a simple application launcher panel for it. It's early AM right now, so I'll give it a go when I get home tomorrow afternoon.
Okay, here's my panel installer for the StarPlayr Sirius application.
It assumes that you've installed StarPlayr to the internal memory.
I just want to say that I'm quietly happy that my first panel works.
Unfortunately, StarPlyr does not work with the new R2AA0006/8 firmware. I'm sure almost everyone wants to or have already updated to the new firmware. If this is an isolated issue for me and it is working for others please post. Otherwise, I think the StarPlyr developers will need to update the progie to be compatible with the firmware upgrade for the X1 first.
thanks! i'll give it a try
I'll be honest, all I did was install the application. I didn't try and see if it worked as I don't have a Sirius login. All I showed was that the panel opened the application and had a suitable graphic.

What is your phone's firmware version? If it's not the most current one (R2AA0006/8), do you plan on updating it?

It's in the sig... Generic UK R2A.
Cool. The million dollar question is, have u tried it yet since your post above? Please confirm if u can stream with the panel and/or stanalone software. Thanks.
thanks for the help! the panel w/ the player works just fine. but can u fix it so that it closes the player whenever you exit the panel?

Has anyone got tmobile tv to work with either a MDA pro or any other variant with a tmobile sim in it.
I keep on getting an error message "streaming is not supported"
It works fine on the other halves Vario II
Anyone?
Any helpe to get this working will be greatly appreciated
I got it working as far as browsing the channels in IE, but on my MDA PRO when you click on a video feed to watch, it launches an app called "streaming video", which is some sort of modified windows media player. Anyway this app always crashes, I tried it on the new Youtube mobile site (m.youtube.com) too and the same result
What I need is a cab file for the latest version of this "streaming video" app, does anyone have this? I don't really want to install one of the newer AKU 3.x or WM6 ROM's as I'm fairly happy with what I have now, even though the T-Mobile ROM I'm using is the very first version that was released...
Also does anyone have a cab file of the latest camera app? The 4GB SD card bug is a bit annoying sometimes
Anyone any suggestions?

How do you configure Streaming Video? Basically how do you use it? I tried its settings, but there is not much to go from there.
Right now I am using Pocket Live TV, so far it is working great and happy with it. I just wish they had more channels here in the US, especially the latest Cartoon Network Channel, all I get from this channel is OLD re-runs of VERY OLD cartoons. It is great in watching MTV, NEWS, sports, and weather reports though.

What is this TMobile TV? I just switched to TMobile last week. Where can I find the download site? Maybe I can help you investigate. It sounds interesting.
if you go to http://10.111.189.31/servlet/download?page...lates/onNow.jsp and pick your channel to *ahem* start viewing
The link isn't working op IE or PIE. I'm interested too, but isn't it only a service in Germany?
Thanks for the response. I did find this article about You Tube by Menneisyys, it has instructions on how to use Streaming Video Application:

Can you guys help me out? Im haveing a problom, I have owned a Q, a Htc touch, and now i made a switch over to the Mogul.
On all these phone i installed Tcpmp and its flash bundle and got them to work on the first try. But for some reason i cant seem to get it to work on my Mogul. Could somebody please upload the correct files? I might be using the wrong ones. Good lookin out, This forum is Ill as F$%K and you guys get super props
Youtube for the Mogul
Dude, try a google search for the RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab. I have the mogul and tried all of the other options found in the forums to no avail. I finally came across the HTC player and I have had no problems watching videos from youtube mobile. I actually have the cab but got a problem trying to upload here pm me if you want it from me.
Or if you want a better solution, you could just download the program called vtap. It is working great on my Mogul, and its easier to use than TCPMP and Flash plugin (which i used to use). just search vtap on google.
The files you're using are correct, I use the same ones (TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle). What do you mean by not working? Perhaps some specific details would give us more clue on what the problem could be.
when I click on a video it takes me to its comment page. my bundle issent working cause it usually installs a e explorer page with othe compatable sites but that doesent show up.
Here is the ones I have, you can try it out and see how it works, it works great for me but I do have the htc 6800 from alltel not sprint. Just remember to change the file associations in the settings to include mms and http protocol.
Just try to do it all over. Uninstall everything. Install TCMP..then the plugins...then restart ur phone and try it again.
ALOT of people are using the old flash bundle. It wont take much searching but on ppcgeeks there is a newer version. It worked out alot of the kinks and I get flawless youtube and google vid. Make sure you are using the .17 rom as well. The original Sprint rom sucks hudge balls and has tons of problems with video playback.
Here you go. This website updates every time youtube changes its files.
Maybe this will fix you right up.

I searched around for a FM Radio player for my Touch Pro 2, and i couldn't get none of the apps to work. Even the ones from this site. So i came by something today and it worked, and it even displays the Radio Station name. Cool!
Anyways I downloaded this file from Rapidshare.
http://rs367.rapidshare.com/files/239750180/HTC_FM_Radio.cab
It works like a charm. For those on planning on installing this, first i would suggest app unlocking your phone, and install .Net Compact Framework.
Works for me.

ahh, good to know. The other radio thats stickied in General messed up my texts and other such functions. Thanks for the upload. :]. hopefully it does its job and doesnt interfere with anything else...
Phone storage
Ya I love this program but it only works if I install it to the phone memory and not my sd card. I also work for T-Mobile and its stuff like removing the radio that bugs me. Some genius must have thought this was a great idea at corporate. This phone was so downplayed because T-Mo was so afraid it would step on the mytouch sales.
lets try this, thnx a lot

it worked for me because i have a gsm phone
Thanks for this, working quite well. I didn't do an app unlock unless that was related to the sim that I transferred from my MDA.
everytime I run FM it tells me my wired headset needs to plugged in

Hi,
Just got my touchpro2 a week ago from t-mobile.
You don't have to unlock the phone to get the fm radio to work.
Listening to it right now and it works great!
I have the .NET framework on there though and it has helped a number of programs.
First let me say thank for this cab.. but could someone upload it to other place.. no rapidshare. thank you

T-mo TP2 radio working like a charm here in Australia!
Cheers!
Cant install FM radio on T-Mo TP2
I cant install this app at all and i really want it BADLY!! I'm almost certain it has something to do with me not having the proper certificates or the most recent version of .NET framework or maybe i need to app unlock it! IDK! Could someone pleaassssse post some cabs for this issue? (Y_Y.) BTW: I have stock ROM.
P.S. Any recommedations on what apps 2 install on my Tmo TP2? It seems i have a problem installing any and EVERYthing on my phone! i never had this many problems w/my Dash!
Here is HAVA's wm 6.5 beta player. Fixes landscape mode, audio and remote. Will post when final version is in. Works with widescreen!!
Awesome! Now all I need is WM 6.5. I loved the way my HAVA worked on my Motorola Q9c but hasn't worked well at all thus far on the TP2.
Probably a stupid question but is this 6.5 only or will it work on 6.1?
Tried it and it installs. The whole app no longer hangs, but the video still freezes. I checked Hava forums and it seems they are pretty much dead. This is GREAT progress, please keep it coming. Where are you getting these updates?
Thank you.
Trying it some more and the video isn't freezing as much as studdering.
Observations:
It happens worse when in full screen mode, if I leave the remote up it is better.
When in full screen mode, it does not fill the screen (video only in center of screen.)
About every minute I get a message "Close the window/menu and tap here to resume video" There is no window/nemu open. If I tap it continues.
Yes, it will work in 6.1. There are still some small issues as it is beta. Video will not fill entire screen, but is better. This came from VP of customer service at HAVA. They did not want to release it on the site due to being in testing, but with much complaining they emailed it to me. He will also email me the final release when available. I will follow up as he has probably forgotten our conversation already.
Hava
Thanks much. I don't know how you found this (not on their site), but its been driving me crazy trying to find a work-around with the other versions. Thought I was the last guy on earth that hasn't given up on his hava box.
holy crap thank you so much
Has anyone tried this on 6.1? It worked great on 6.5, but I've decided to stay on a stock rom for now. Landscape mode is all kinds of screwed up in 6.1.

This is the email I got from him saying I took it off PPCgeeks on 11/7/09. I guess he can't read my posting date of 10/14/09 where I uploaded the file. Also gave credit to HAVA on 10/15/09 in post #6 at 7:03 am. Try to read!!!!! If not I cand send you a calendar and Hooked on Phonics.

Hava Update
Thanks omair2005. Here is a link http://myhava.com/havamobile_wm.html
You sure about the 2010 date? It still shows up as 2009 when i goto the link provided. Just wanted to point that out before anyone downloads it from Hava.
Important Update Monday, January 26, 2009.
•The remote connection server has changed - so you'll need to download and install this new version of the Windows Mobile Player to connect to your HAVA.
Thank you for this
I've been hitting the HAVA forums looking for this very solution! Thank you so much for this
Also, if anybody sees a non beta version out there, please share the wealth!
Just did a highly convoluted update to CoPilot adding TTS (Text to Speech) ability. Didn't work (of course) . AFTER the fact, they tell you to install an update of the software, version 8.0.0.620 . IT WORKED! Why oh why can't they get their act together when it comes to customer service? Why not update the necessary files using the TTS installation??? Or why not just do an update of the software WITH TTS included??
Go here to check it out. Make sure you have 8.0.0.620 installed. http://www.alk.com/copilot/copilot8-tts.asp
-Bob-
Hmm well updated to 8.0.0.620 AND updated CoPilot Central 2.0 and you weren't kidding its a right pain and after all that it seems TTS isn't available in the UK yet. Well not on my HD2 yet anyway and I'm running the official 1.66 WWE ROM at the moment. On the brighter side though Live local search works and so does the Live traffic and the Fuel prices facility is a good idea
Silly question, but how did you guys update to 8.0.0.620?
Mine shows version number 8.0.0.457, but when I use the built-in "check for updates" function, it says it's "up to date". Also, in the online FAQ it says you probably shouldn't install the normal CoPilot on an HD2, since it requires a specially modified version for some features to work (ok, who needs Footprints, but still)...
God, I wish ALK would fix their stuff. The bloody navigation software itself is ok, but everything surrounding it is sheer torture.

Here's the link. Download the files directly from http://www.alk.eu.com/files/v8/winmobile/cabs/8.0.0.620-2577-tts.zip. This is the US site.
HOWEVER, I can't say if it'll work perfectly on your HD2. I DID install it. Seems to work. I ran a demo of a route and the TTS function worked well. Haven't tried Footprints since the update and I don't have the Car Kit. I hadn't noticed the warning, so...we'll see what happens.
ALK truly seems to be dazed and confused most of the time.
-Bob-
Hey, thanks!
The FAQ mentions "for example the Footprints application and Car Kit mode". I use neither of those, but that sneaky "for example" could be worrying. The only other device-specific feature I can think of is pinch-to-zoom. Might just try the upgrade and see if it works.

I'm out of my map coverage area, but did play with CoPilot a bit. I don't see any functional issues with the way I use the software. Pinch-to-Zoom works with 2D views, not with 3D (doing a route demo). I actually don't remember if PTZ worked in 3D before. Dragging the 3D view works. I'm not at all familiar with PhotoNav, so I can't comment except to say I have a blank screen. Is that supposed to work with coordinates and the camera somehow? EDIT: Looks like PhotoNav works too. But I'm out of a map area so am not totally sure.
I guess what I'm saying is that TTS is worth giving up any gimmicks that the HD2-specific version might have added (which I obviously never used ). And since I will be out of map range for the next 30 days, someone else is going to have to experiment to see what's missing on the HD2 (or what may have been added??).
I DO wish I could delete the old EXE software from the Windows directory, though.
-Bob-
Ah yes just checked and the footprints don't work with this version of copilot, but I've installed it on the memory card so I guess that didn't help, don't use em anyway.
Afraid I also don't use the car kit mode either so can't comment on that one.
I've been merrily using the update for a few days now and no problems at all, so I think its worth doing.
i have downloaded and installed this new version on my hd2. i got 8.0.0.620 confirmed at the info-screen now.
but somehow tts does not work in the demo.
do i need to activate a special voice/language or option? is it to be activated somewhere?
thanks for the help!

Hi yes I think you do need to select the correct voice if you go in to Language & Voice, then your language you should find a voice with an asterisk. Thats the text to speech one.
Just to clarify I've only read this and haven't tried it myself as I can't get TTS in the UK at the moment
