I have a Tmobile Wing and I tried changing my left and right soft keys, and I know I did everything right because I had them changed before I reset my phone. HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112 and 113. . .
. . . 112 I have "\Windows\PocketCM.exe"
. . . 113 I have "\Windows\Yahoo! Go.exe"
Then I save and do all that other good stuff, but when I get to the today screen of course it says contact and yahoo at the bottom. When I click on it a error message comes up saying "neither files can be opened. Either its not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring."
Can somone please help with this issue I at least need my contacts.

I made it!
Using a registry editor I went to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113]
and set Open to Windows\Start Menu\programs\contacts.lnk
and up comes my contacts

Mine did the same I had to hard reset !!!!!!
On the Cingular 8125 I was trying to change the left soft key to open start menu. Found out it didn't work. Now I go back to the registry under 112 key and type the old default "\Windows\calendar.exe", wait a while, then soft reset.
Now I get an error message saying:
The file 'calendar' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this fie.
Any ideas on what I screwed up? I can access the calendar from the programs page no problems.
I figured it out. I was told the string needed to be in "" but I tired it without and it's back to working fine again.

Exactly what is it you did to eliminate the problem. Everytime I press the left soft key, I also get that error message that HTCCalendar cannot start.

I have some question.... after i install 'TouchCommander'...everything in my O2 atom life still work well...when i removed... my camera manual button (a small button beside the mobile) can't work...everytime u press, it appear an error window >> " The file 'TouchCommander' cannot be opened. Hi everyone, I just recieved my brand new Diamond2 in Czech localisation (original from retailer) and after first boot I got this error:

failed, code=0x80090006
I assume its the czech localisation but any advice? If I dont solve the problem, Ill send it on monday back

There are a couple of things you can do:
- Manually try to install it using the file explorer: \Windows\OpenCZ_Settings_Topac.CAB
- Make a hard-reset (hold Vol-up & Vol-Down and press the reset button under the battery case to see if it happens again.

- I tried several hard resets and booting with / without SIM and or microSD - still the same error
- I managed to get the phone partially working, because you can move the error window aside and access the startmenu and open explorer. I executed the file manually, but got the error message: "The program cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate."
Unfortunately I can not access the phone via USB (first customisation hasnt finished and active sync does not open) and I'm afraid flashing the device with another ROM because of warranty
Any Idea how to tweak the phone to lower the phones security allowing installing not signed cabs?

My device from Czech too. I found this cab file in Windows folder, if you need it i'll upload it for you.

Try sdkcert. That should do what you want install it before installing your .cab what is needed
Problem solved - i sent the device back and the whole board was replaced - new IMEI, but now its working like a charm
for the future..I have had a same problem with my TD2..After few hours I found out that I could this error off in taskmanager. Then it worked.. It was just some czech layout for my topaz but I did not want it either.. So for those who will buy TD2 with this error and don´t want chzech langugage on it, just close it in taskmanager..

most of the times my phone can not show the contact list . in my recent cals I can find them name so it means th contact list can sun but when I press the contact button it sows me a white page . after 10 to 15 times reset it will be ok .

Which version of the phone are you using ? Which ROM ?
Where are your contacts saved ? In your sim card, or in the phone memory ?
Help people help you : provide relevant information.
Anyway, if it eventually works after a bunch of resets, it has to be a bug / conflict on your device.
my rom is the original one :6.1
and my contacts are on my phone , this problem is gong to choose one : kill myself or kill my ohone .
maybe a hard reset can help but I dont know how to make it . please help guys
if you hard reset your phone you're going to erase everything stored on your device (including your contacts).
i've seen this problem on my old elf with a 6.1 rom, and the solution for that device (in my case) was to kill the contacts process, soft reset, launch contacts again.
or you could try syncing everything to your PC first, then hard reset and sync everything back. be careful about conflict resolution options on which overrides which.
