When my phone is plugged into the USB on my PC, the screen stays on .It dims, but stays on .It doesnt even lock. Normal behaviour?
It is set to turn off when connected to external power after 1 minute in the backlight settings.
Recently i just bought a Docking station for my Mini so it can sit on my desk.
but i cant seem to get the mini to stay on the home screen without it powering down to the lock screen then off completly.
i have unticked to options to disable the dim function, and turn off the device, in both the battery power and external power, but it still does it.
i just want it to sit on my desk showing the clock, any idea's ?
When on a call and using Bluetooth headset the screen dims or shuts off. This is very aggravating, especially when trying to use dialer for input.
Even more aggravating that happens when plugged in to power.
It dawned on me why the screen goes off on BT call. It must be because if phone is in pocket or holder it might react to screen being touched and do unwanted things, like hangup or...
BUT, if (as is the case for most of my day) the phone is in dash mounted holder and PLUGGED INTO CHARGER I want screen to stay on ALWAYS... no matter what. (which leads me to another post later)
Before I go to sleep, I plug my phone into my charger and hit the sack. After ~1-2 minutes without touching it, my phone's screen lights up mysteriously. It does not unlock or do anything special, the screen just turns on. Not a problem right? Just wait ten 10 seconds and the screen will turn back off? NOPE. That sumofabitch stays on forever and the screen does not go back off until I click the side button to do so.
How can I correct this?
Seems to be a little delay between you plugging your charger in and the phone lighting up to show you have put it on charge. As for the screen not going off. Check your sleep setting it maybe a few minutes.
I could not find the sleep setting?
Are there any other suggestions or inputs?
You have to turn on the Developer options to disable this feature.
To do this:
1. Go to settings -> About Phone
2. Scroll down to the bottom where you see "Build Number"
3. Tap the Build Number button 7 times.
This will activate Developer options in your settings. There is an option in there to disable the screen staying on while charging.
That box is unchecked.
I think another issue that correlates with this is when I unplug my phone. When I remove it from the charger in the morning, my phone will still say "Charging" for an hour or so after I unplugged it and used it.
Are you using stock rom and kernel?
Happens to me when I use a regular car charger, which I think it may be defective (the connector part)
Yeah from the sound of it your connector is loose, so randomly your phone will think it has been disconnected and reconnected to the charger. Changing your USB cable should fix it.

Also try changing daydream settings? If you go into display settings, there is a sleep setting.. What is that set to?
Hello,
I love my Nexus.
Is there a way to have the screen brightness to automatically be full 100% when plug in the power micro USB? And, revert back to, for instance, 50%, when unplugged?
Many thanks.
