The java app in the stock rom doesn't seem to fit the resolution of the X1, has anyone tried any alternatives? Like Esmertec Jbed ?
I don't play any games, but BetFair and eBay (although this goes no further than the login page) all display fine.

Hi,
I've just installed the latest WM6 rom on my 8525 and also installed Flash player 7 along with the java addons. I've tried viewing videos from youtube and mtv from both internet explorer and opera mini 4 beta 3 but any video i click it always says flash player not installed and click here to go to adobe etc.... Can someone help me configure it so I can play flash videos? thanks
cmon, somebody has to have an answer for this. I can't load any videos on standard pages for myspace, mtv, youtube, etc. it says javascript is either turned off or you dont have the right player. I downloaded flashplayer 7. Running mini opera 4 beta 3 and pocket IE as well as picsel browser.
Mobile browsers not designed for video
Neither of the browsers you are trying are capable of displaying flash based videos. The Opera Mini will probably never support them because it is a Java based browser for use on most any phone. There is a Windows Mobile Opera that is in beta, last I heard, that claims to support flash based videos, however the only thing I could get it to do was crash my 8525, forcing me to soft reset, at which time I then uninstalled it completely. As you will see in the instructions at one of the links below, there is one more file you can download that will play the videos, which seems to be accomplished through the link from internet explorer triggering the thirdparty app to open and strat trying to play the video.
You could try the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326225, however I have not tried them and can not confirm for you if they work.
The way I currently play these type files is using a program called AvotMV. AvotMV has a internet browser type feel to it, and when you play the videos it will automatically play them "full" screen (in portrait mode). If you want to try AvotMV, you can download it for free from the developers here here http://www.avotmedia.com/
the tcpmp and flashbundle works beautifuly. especially on a highspd connection. the newest version givesthe choice dowloading or streaming it. You will have to unistall flash7 as it will clash with flashbundle plugin. I posted awhile back if some could figure out how to get them to work together or at least independently on different browsers because the tmpcp flash plugin will only play videos not other flash content.
That explains it...
I have the official flash 2.1 from adobe for WM5/6 which allows me to use one of the spinning cube flash controllers. Would be nice if someone could figure it out because this does not look like it will work for me until a fix is made.
has anyone been able to get the HTC youtube player to work ?
when it tries to play a video on my vogue it just freezes ...
It works for me but the only problem is that the audio is always out of sync, always...

Same here with HTC Youtube on my Sprint Vogue. It's first screen is really nice, shows neat little summaries. But when one is selected to play, ugh! First of all, the player goes left handed on me, sort of upside down. And the aspect ratio of the area for video is rediculously w-i-d-e screen. Worst of all, it just freezes, curable only via soft reset.
So, my use of HTC Youtube is only to pick out a video. Next, I open up youtubeplay, enter keywords from HYt, and then download the FLV file rather than viewing it. Once D/L'd, I use TCPMP to play it nice and smooth, sync'd too.
Youtubeplay is available here:

And TCPMP here:

Works perfect for me. First install the app, then the ravest fix.
I've found that the least troublesome way to use flash is to use Skyfire (mobile browser), plays pretty much any flash file inside the browser. It's also free.

You can also fire up Opera Mobile Ver 9.5 or higher and simply install the You Tube Widget.
Following on from my previous (and ongoing) thread about the YouTube app, I decided to give the Google version a go.
Whilst on the plus side it doesn't mess about with the HTC album and it does appear to work rather well, I have 2 problems with it.
Firstly there doesn't seem to be an option to play the clip in HD if it's available and secondly, clips are rotated on the wrong side of the screen. What I mean by this is that by default you would rotate the phone clockwise by 90 degrees rather than anti-clockwise by the same angle as in every other app.
Is there any way to change which way the app rotates the screen to play back video? I can't think of a way to play clips in HD but that surely must be hard-coded into the app.
google youtube
Well there are other youtube apps just go on google and type youtube app windows mobile . It will take straight to googles official youtube app.
went to mobile youtube site, downloaded & installed Google Youtube app on my mobile (ATT Tilt 8925 TyTN II Kaiser 100 , WM 6.5 light ahmedfikry).
after searching for a file, when i click to play it,
showing me error "Inter Error : ..\xplatform\util\imageutils. cpp:292".
after i click on the 'ok' on that error popup window,
Google Youtube app quits !
previously on WM 6.1 , it used to work fine.
any1 facing & solved this problem ?
EDIT :
when i went to mobile youtube website through the IE, files were playing with lot of video+audio jittering (stopping & playing).
but after installing the "Dvha79 AdobeFlash3.1 plugin.cab" (Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 by dvha79_ddt) , IE can now play smoothly.
I had the rotate problem on my ATT Tilt 2 in the past and I found that if you opened the phone up and then launched the app that it would rotate the screen correctly.
I now use the YouTube app that is cooked in the ROM (listed below) and it works just fine.
Hi,
For some reason my browser crashes in landscape mode (And so does playing videos stored on memory using default .avi viewer - album?)
Does anyone have a solution? Its not just mine, but my girlfriends Topaz/Diamond 2 also.
I've filmed it so you can see what happens,

It's not another post about if it's possible to have xfire messenger on wm but this: http://www.xfire.com/live_video/
I don't know if I'm the only one but I never been able to have flash active x working on my uni, nor ie, nor opera.
Actually even the application to play youtube movies on the uni don't work for me, but I guess it should.
So, is there a way to make a web browser play flash things, or edit some lines in the youtube application to play thoses movies, or something else to make it work ?
So far the only way I found is to use remote desktop, which give 0,8fps and a very low quality sound.

Try using skyfire... just google or search over here, it's a freeware and plays flash videos flawlessly...
Thanks a lot, since I tryed netfront which wasn't able to play this, I though it would be the same for all browsers.
Though, I can't put movies into full screen, nor with the virtual cursor of skyfire, nor with fakecursor (my touch screen is dead), are you able to ?

well it doesn't support fullscreen,,,, but i mostly use zoom button to make it somewhat around the display size and focus on that part only... you can hide the top and bottom bar ... somewhat like full screen.... the only browser that supported fullscreen playback was mach5... which is not a freeware...
