I had the same question, and never had the answer
I've looked at all links and many others and came personally to the conclusion that this scope has not been really explored; yet, by traditional XDA gurus for WM2003 based ROM. There is no real answer
Correct me, any one, if I can be proven wrong.
But in my browsing from this post, I came across a cost effective solution with the TopKey application from PDAMILL. http://www.pdamill.com/prod_tk.shtml
It is amazingly efficient and multi language (all user definable). The only draw back, to me, is the too small key size.
It is a good walk-around for an unsolved WM 2003 limitation.
it should be possible but as far as i know only for pocketword
it dont share the dictionary with outlook for some reason
Thanks for the info Tanguy
I'll be moving to Japan in September so I thought I'd get some info from Hermes users over there.
Is it enough to just install the Japanese language input program I've seen in the searches? Or do you guys recommend sticking a full Japanese ROM on there? My kanji skills are sub-par, so that worries me about putting a full ROM on.
Suggestions for service providers, and general cost for voice+data? Is it cheaper for non-PDA phones? Will they freak out if I bring my Hermes since I won't need a phone with my contract?

I will be a bit OT, hope you do not mind...
If you wish to use non-commercial input methods posted here you will need two things:
> japanese fonts (to view characters instead of squares)
> japanese input system
Asukal on this forum is source of knowledge in that matter. He is japanese and he has posted here a lot of methods how to view or input far eastern languages. Definitely give him a pm, or view some of his threads. I've been able to use his input methods .cabs on english ROM without problem (well when writing with hardware keyboard I lost ability to input special symbols via "dot" and "space" combination, but apart from that it is working fine and I doubt you will need these because you use english).
Thanks, KarhU. I'll read through Asukal's posts to get me up to speed.
Hi guys
My last smart phone was a universal (for sale btw in perfect condition with all the extras and a piel frama cover, just email me if you would like to have it, no back to my main point).BTW my old username here was hungarian, and I have no way of getting into my old account here as I dont have acces to my old hungarian email account.
SO, I live in france now for a while and I am looking into buyig myself an X1. The problem with it is, that it most likely will speak only french, while I speak only german english and hungarian my french is far away from acceptable.
So my main question is/would be, how can I get the x1 to english?
Is there an easy way, or maybe it even does by itself and its just a setting somewhere?
Thank you very much in advance
H
You can't change only "language" on x1 (and in general on winmobile pdas) but you can unlock it and flash with WWE rom to get your terminal in english.
Hi Guap
Even if I didnt say it, I meant what you were purposing.
So it should work without bigger problems to shove a new rom in
this time in english and maybe with some positive side effects.
I am wondering tough why you mention unlocking, as I understood while browsing this thread there is no simlock in this phone, or did I understand that wrong?
Please let me know, because then I will have to take the right steps.
Thank you
H
First of all, I'll go ahead and apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.
I purchased a usa tmobile hd2 last week. I was told it could support THAI language. (purchased the phone for my gf)
But, once we took it home - it was not an option. Figuring this was one of the latest phones.. I haven't returned it yet!
however, I have no clue on how to start. I've been reading tutorials but so far.. nothing makes sense.
So my question:
Is there a simple way of adding THAI to this phone?
?
what do you want your phone to do? do you want all the language on your phone to read thai or you want to be able to just read your language in certain programs like e-mails. also do you want to be able to input in thai???
please be more specific
^ korean flag.. I'm also korean
anyhow.. figured it out. (somewhat)
found a .cab file that allowed "thai" to be an option under language/region settings.
so, my gf can now read emails from her friends.
Now, I installed a thai keyboard.. but when you send texts or emails, they show up as "?" marks.
Ideally, I think my gf would prefer the entire phone to be in thai
whole phone

there are couple threads on the windows app and developments thread that allows your gf to change every font on her phone to thai. there is also a reg edit you can do to get other languages on your phone. do a quick search. as far as the ? i believe the receiving party's phone has to support other languages. pm me if you need farther assistance. good luck
just type in language support in the search engine

Hey guys. I have a question. If this isnposted in the wrong place you can tell me how to remove it and I will. But it relates to the N3.
Whenever I visit Chineese/Vietnamese or Korean N3 sites I always see "Brush process" or "Brush" now this is after the site is translated so im not sure if something is mixed in translation. It may be considering half the time after translation I see words like eggs doctor pharmacy and the like. Anyway, can someone help me sign some light on this?
Thank you.
Brush process? Translating it to chinese means flash process.
