Editting Sliding Panels - Shadow General

I've installed Erofich's ROM and love it so far. I modified his original HTCSlidingPanel.home XML file, removing the weather, music, and pictures panels (of which I have no use). However, I also want to modify the Settings sliding panel so it displays how much battery I have remaining (a la MyHTC's ROM). Does anyone know of a way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

XDA EXEC today screen

Can anyone help, I hate the default today screens you get as default (o2 & WM5). I want to have my own picture but those horrible blue lines always remain.
Does anyone know who to get rid of them?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hiya Mate,
The way you can alter your home screen apperance, you can add a new wm5 theme
these are downloadable of loads of sites
some you pay for some are free,
for universal use ones that are vga
put wm5 vga themes in google to start off
most heavilyed modifed screens use wisbar
this is down loadable from lakeridgesoftware
its comes in two parts
wisbar advance 2
which themes the operating system (like you ca on xp)
wisbar desktop
which alters the mainscreen wallpaper and background
they look great, but can slow and stall your system
I find wisbar is ok but the desktop part is the problamatic part
I use ilauncher for the mainscreen and launcher
you can also get c launch which is free but limited
I'd make one recomedation above all others
phonealarm pocketmax
its makes all the stuff you need to run at hand and gives proflies easily at hand
any more info you need ask if I know it ill help but I'm a newbie myself and not techy at all
p.s
btw you wundt happen to use that same user name on a bodybuilding site MT do ya mate?

Click to collapse
I used Tweaks2k2, (google it and you'll find it) one of the options is changing the today line colours, the click and hold dots etc....

HTC Quick Launch - I need help for icons

I've changed two apps in HTC Quick Launch today plugin: TomTom and Windows Live Seach instead of Action Screen and Camera. I've successfuly edited the xml files and saved over the ones burnt in rom (my custom Artemis rom has Quick Launch built-in).
So now the right applications run if I hit the second or third icon, but the icons are still the old ones. I tried to create bmp files from TomTom and Live Search icons, but they resulted very ugly and almost invisible. Finally I deleted them. I am very bad at graphical works... :-(
So I need help from someone more skilled in picture-editing: please create for me those 4 icons (normal and masked) for the two new apps!
Thanks a lot in advance!
cheers,

Help with TF3D theme...

Hello,
I have a CDMA Diamond with Sprint. For my girlfriend's phone, I unlocked it and flashed with the newest Juicy (3.6) and finally installed the "TuxApple" theme by DjOuBhAa since she loves penguins. However, what I would really like is for the standard Juicy Manilla but with the penguin sliders and pictures. Is this possible? The theme takes away some of the functionality we need for example in the Weather tab -- all the states are removed and a set list is installed (all unusable by me).
So... I guess the main question is can I revert back to stock Juicy (alltell with the white flip clock) theme, change the background to the penguin -- and most importanty just change the sliders and such? thanks in advance!
this is a lot easier than you think.
get manila editor on your computer.
get the theme file on your computer.
change the .theme ending on the file name to .zip
then unzip to a folder on your computer.
use manila editor to look at the files and pick out the ones
you want.
then put them on internal storage(4gb one)on your phone.
use total commander to transfer them to \windows.
soft reset and just the files you put in will change.
sounds harder than it is trust me.
take off the theme first of course.
thanks for the fast response.. it does sound hard but i will trust your advice and give it a shot!
cheers
I've got that similar issue, and I'll give that a try as well, thanks. But, what he was saying with the weather seems to be a bit more complicated in my case. I switch between themes, go back to default, or whatever and my weather countries and states are not going back to what they were.... basically I need the "United States" to be in the list and its not, but it was before playing around with themes. How can I fix that?
Edit: Just wondering which files to not install with a theme to keep the weather database untouched as well...

Remove top-bar from touchflo?

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it's possible to remove the top bar from manila 2d (aka TouchFlo) which shows the network information? In my opinion, it's just a waste of screen space and looks bad.
I know you can remove the network information with M2DC but I was wondering if anybody knew how to actually remove the top bar itself.
Cheers,
Jennan
Yeap, this is possible.....use attached transparent topbar. Put it in windows folder and relace original (with total commander). First copy original to another file in case you want to go back.
Thanks Frank, you're really helpful man
Appreciate it, worked like a charm
Thanks a lot for that too!!
Any chance to change the bottom bar also?
Have tried a lot of things but you can not remove or replace by a transparent version.....seems hard-coded in Manila.
Though you can change the color (mine is black). Or the trick I see in some themes is that you make an exact copy of the theme as is behind bottom bar and copy to windows so that it appears it is gone. But in actual fact is still there. If your theme is complex or change it frequently will be more difficult/more work. But it can be done.
Let us know how the result.....
Thanks so much ;]
I don't understand why you would use Total Commander for this though :/ I just did it with File Explorer and it worked too
It kind of supprised me I could just replace it from with file explorer; Aren't these images stored in the ROM? Then why can I replace them with File Explorer?
this is great. i was just complaining to the wife about how unsightly that top bar was.
thanks very much
Seems a bit wasteful to make a whole new thread for this - does anybody know how to replace the icons in TouchFlo? I've just downloaded a bunch of SenseUI icons in PNG format and want to replace the cartoony manila 2d ones.
Any ideas?
Thanks
For more info on removing top bars etc...see this thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688313

Changing system icons

im currently working my way through replacing most of the stock icons, but im struggling with a few of them, most noteably the phone, email, navigation & maps icons that are present when you first boot the phone.
i just cant seem to find the exact png file for these even after rooting through the apk's.
i also want to change the text background to completely clear, anyone know where this particular file is located as well?
cheers
