Problem with WM Start bar - Touch HD General

Hi there,
I have a problem with the Start bar on the top. Whenever I load some applications 3rd party apps that should show up on full screen, the Start bar wouldnt go away. It's somehow fix to the screen and it loads the applications in full screen mode under the bar. This results in some apps (ie GPS navigation) not being able to press any buttons to load menu etc) the buttons are below the screen. Anyone had similar problems?

perhaps your app is vga so you must use :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455974&highlight=wvga+fix
to change your screen resolution to vga before using your gps app. Hope it helps.

Unfortunately it doesnt help, Itchanges the resolution, so its only showing it on part of the screen but the top bar (start) and bottom bar (keyboard sign) are still on top of the application unabling from selecting some options.

Shortcut or plugin for widescreen?

Does anyone know of a today plug-in or some way of making a shortcut to easily access the widescreen feature on the Prophet, as this would be a major convience when surfing webpages?
Do you mean landscape mode (when the screen is horizontal)?
I map screen rotation to the OK hardware button (lower right corner) from settings->buttons.
This way I don't have to leave IE to change orientation and no need for extra software. There is an action button in the middle so who needs extra 'OK' any way?
Hi
I posted a CAB File from the Orange Extended ROM that places an icon on the Today Screen for screen rotation. Just tap it and it rotates the screen from portrait to landscape.
It was supplied by Orange but it has worked for others, try it and see.

White bar at bottom of screen

Hey,
Anytime I open up my phone to text a white bar shows up at the bottom of the screen. It's been happening for like 2-3 weeks now, but can't figure out what it is. Basically anytime I slide up, the screen switches to landscape and it automatically has a white bar on the bottom. If I click the screen, everything is moved and the screen reacts like the bar isn't there(as in I have to click an inch below anything I want to actually hit)
Any ideas? Thanks guys!
Really? No one can help?
Can you post screenshots of your screen?
Is this a physical screen problem or a graphic problem?
V
How can I tell which is which?
The problem is pretty easy to explain, dunno how to do a screenshot... Basically it is my normal screen, just like always, except at the bottom there is a white bar, maybe 1/4 inch thick. What it does is move all my graphics up. So the start bar is not visible, and the send button(for txt messaging) would be right above the white part.
If I hit something I can see on the screen, it will act like I'm hitting where the graphic is supposed to be. For example, on the text messaging screen, if I hit the part that says "Inbox" (which is located at the very top of my screen because of the white bar), it will bring up the Start Menu as if I hit the start menu(which I did tap where the start button would be if the white bar wasn't there, but graphically the start bar is off the screen and I am tapping where the start button would be, but instead it is now the Inbox button that is there instead, but the behavior acts like there is no white bar there)

[Q] disable "hide status bar" button on cm7

I have cm7.2 with tablet tweaks for soft buttons on the status bar. I want the status bar always on. The hide button (far right) pops up and disappears intermittently.
Is there any way to turn off the hide button permanently? When it pops up, it shifts all of :he other status bar content to the left, which is distracting. Also sometimes it pops up suddenly right as I go to press the notification button and then I accidentally hide the status bar because the hide button suddenly appears where the notification button was.
Can't find anything in cyanogenmod settings. Someone help?
Is there no way to do this?
There's no way to do this. There are some applications that expect true full screen. In Honeycomb and ICS the OS itself removes the status bar/soft key area from the available screen real estate and "dims" the contents of the status bar when an application requests full screen.
In Gingerbread (the basis for CM7), this isn't available in the core OS, so Mad Murdock (the developer of TabletTweaks) implemented the best solution he could...basically the ability to suppress full screen for apps that can adapt that that and otherwise to give the user a chance to enter and leave full screen.
There are still bugs in this implementation because of the limited hooks for intercepting these full screen requests and switches in and out of full screen. As a result, you'll see some apps that don't look quite right when this feature is enabled even when you go full screen, and you'll also see that sometimes the full screen soft key gets into a confused state and displays when it shouldn't and vice-versa. This can ultimately lead to an FC in the StatusBar process.
What I do is turn off the "Disable full screen" feature under CM7 and use either Button Savior or the extended Power Menu buttons (mostly Button Savior these days) to provide access to Home/Back/Menu when an app runs full screen. It's not a perfect solution, but it's more stable and still gives me non-intrusive access to soft keys.
That's a fair enough solution. I do see the FCs often for statusbar. Thanks for the input.

Win 8 Release Preview Start Menu Issue

When I go to the start menu the metro UI appears. However whenever I move the mouse the boxes vanish. The start menu background remains, so basically i have a grey screen. If I click where a shortcut box should be it works and takes me to the app or desktop. So basically everything is there, it just turns invisible as soon as i move the mouse.
I was running consumer preview without this issue. Any ideas?
EDIT:
Also just noticed that if I move the mouse to the right side of the screen and cause the dark bar to appear, the dark bar just flashes and is unresponsive. I then minimized chrome and the sidebar vanished. Now the sidebar, the start menu shortcut, and the recent apps no longer appear when i move the mouse to the corners of the screen. So basically i dont have access to the start menu until i restart.

Navigation bar doesn't work ONLY while flashing ROM

Hello guys!
Lately I'm observing a strange problem. When I flash a new ROM and it boots up, on the setup phone screens, after entering my google account details, the navigation bar doesn't work. I'm talking about the screens that are shown in the attachment.
So I can not select the apps that I want to restore. I've to go ahead with installing all the apps again. Once the restoring process it done, I do not have any problem with the navigation bar. (I can also use the button in landscape mode). But I'm confused why is this happening while flashing a ROM only
I've tried with different ROMs.
Has anyone faced such an issue?
I noticed a similar thing. The menu for restoring pops up in a full screen mode and it is actually under the navigation bar. It turns out that there is a little spot in that menu where you can just tap through to the "OK" button. (Try tapping above the OK button when you're done with selecting your apps).

Click to collapse
Thanks buddy! I'll try this next time. I was starting to think if it's problem with the touch screen of my mako
