I have figured it out. Mods, please delete.
Turns out it was the dumbest mistake ever. I didn't bother looking at the ringtone sound level....

Hey all,
I have searched high and low and can't find any solution, I have no2chem's k release but have been having this problem on multiple roms including BuildOS and such.
The problem is that whenever I'm on a call, instead of just hearing the call waiting beep, I hear the entire ringtone blasting in my ear and there's no way to stop it. Most of the time I can't even hear the person I was originally on the phone with. I have to tell them to hold on while the ringer blasts in my ear. There is only one program I have installed that I can think might be causing a problem, which is Ringo Mobile, but I can't find anything that suggests there is a connection between the two. Can anybody figure this out? Or maybe can someone install this program and see if they're having a similar issue?
95% of the time when I push the slider to answer, I get no sound and the slider just sits there. The caller hears the phone ring until voice mail picks up. The issue is getting worse as time goes by. I am running the last ROM that Dutty built for it, Holy Grail something.
Any fixes for this besides re flashing it again?
Whenever the phone is in bad signal area (usually in class) the phone always makes the annoying alert sound for signal lost signal found. I don't think there is an option to turn it off... Maybe I can just delete the system tone? Somone want to do some research for me to find out which tone it is? I'd do it myself, but I'm a busy man. I'm rooted and all so if anyone can just give me the file location or some other idea if I'm not right...
Thanks
I've been trying to fix this for a while now, I'm at a loss. There doesn't seem to be a setting, and I can't find the sound file anywhere.
The only way to stop this sound (that I've been able to do) is to put the phone in silent mode. I think Airplane Mode will do it as well, but I haven't tested that.
This has been annoying me as well. I have a Captivate from AT&T from work and I loved it so I got the Fascinate for myself. The funny thing is that the Captivate doesn't have this problem so Verizon must have modified the ROM to do this. Hopefully when ROM's start getting released it will be fixed.
found a solution to this porblem. the new update that vzw is putting out(not froyo) specifically says that it will stop this sound,
Good morning,
This is my first post. I have recently downloaded and flashed Yukis (7392) ROM updated on 5/16 and for some reason when someone calls in, and I have the earphones in, the person calling gets a fast busy signal. The Caller ID will splash on the screen and instantly go away as if slide screen was activated and the ignore button was pressed. I want to say this is a ROM issue for the last ROM I used (HD20) would attenuate the sound and the call would come thru. I havent tried any other 7392 ROMS to be sure, Just wanted to know if anyone else had this issue with Yukis ROM. And, if we do find it to be a ROM issue can someone inform yuki as I can not because my post count is too low.
Thanks,
Dirty
UPDATE:
Looks to be a Update issue. I just tried it with HD20 rom with the same results. Am I the only user seeing this? I searched the FAQ and I did not see anything stating that this is a Bug. ???
Resolution
So i played around with this for a While and it seems that if you turn off both options in the "Ease of Access' menu then you will be able to receive calls with the headphones plugged in. This also works with mic'd headphones as well.
Thanks,
Dirty
I hadn't even thought of this! I usually turn those options off & hadn't when I switched roms. I'm going to try this when I get home and let you know if it worked for me as well.
hello i just bought a used samsung fascinate have had them before and i like it so much i got one again...well ive notice that when i recieve a call i get no sound, no sound on notification, but i can hear when i am on a call or listening to music with a headphone jack plugged in not when i turn the speaker on during a call or without the headphone jack....there is a solution for a samsung captivate but i have a fascinate...so if anyone knows how to fix please help
thanks
Which OS are you on? I had some sound issues when I first flashed CM7 a while back.
this phone is running 2.3.5 stock non root
Not really sure why it's doing that unless there is a hardware issue going on. If you haven't rooted and you are on stock, try bringing it back to Verizon. They are gonna make you do a factory reset to see if it will fix the issue, so not really sure if you want to do that or not! If you aren't rooted, you can't backup your apps.
