Is it possible to apply vibration to the keypad of the phone (like the TF3D)?
I used to own an OMNiA and the keypad feedback is great to know you inserted the number.
yeah this would be nice. or have it when everytime you type a letter it vibrates instead of that popping sound
I have this feature enabled using the HD tweaks program thats on here.

When you dial a number?
Which option is it? I haven´t seen it in the HD Tweaks.
I think it's 1-Call/1.9 Phone pad feedback.
I have that option on but there is no feedback from the phonepad...
For 1.9 I have the options none, short beep, long beep and vibrate, and vibrate seems to work - but only when you hold the key pressed. A bit strange, I agree.
Yes, indeed it work if you keep the key pressed. It´s strange!
I guess i´ll have to wait for a better version of HD Tweaks
SPB Keyboard has the vibration feedback option. Works well

This link leads you to a program called touchresponse v3.0... I installed it on my mogul and it works like a charm... not nearly as great as the LG Voyager... but good enough.... it is free... give it a try... I set my vibrate on touch to 30 ms...very light vibration...
Thats works great! Good find!
You guys have been using this without an issue?
I installed it yesterday. The only thing I can get it to vibrate on is the on screen keyboard (despite turning off all the "disable if..." options and unchecking "enabled only for on-screen keyboard". So basically it should vibrate every time I touch the screen but like I said it ONLY does it with on-screen keyboard.
And with that said, I can set it from 1ms to 150ms and it vibrates the same amount. The page had a fix for if changing the slider doesn't change the length of vibration. It was a registry key to check but I checked it and it was already set to what they said to change it to.
I am running Titan Reloaded 1.4b1.
Wow! I don't know how I missed this one for so long. Thanks!
Works great on DCD 3.3.4
It was be related to the rom I'm running. Using Titan Reloaded 1.41b I have noticed that during bootup (while still seeing windows mobile splash and stuff) I can tap and it will vibrate every time. But as soon as everything actually loads up it goes back to only working on on-screen keyboard. I'll have to try it with dcd.
The best touch vibrate I've had on my mogul, Thanks!. This is really comparable to the voyager's touch vibrate which i was trying to copy after being so jealous of my friend.

Hmmm. not sure if im doing something wrong or not, but on my XV6800, the vibrate is waaaay too long, loud and "harsh" despite my adjusting it even down to 1ms. In fact, adjusting the duration doesn't even seem to have any affect at all.
There are probably similar apps around, but I got bored and made my own!
Currently, there are no options. It's on, or it's off!
Download the cab from here, install it, and then run "Haptic Feedback" from the programs menu.
By default, it installs a shortcut to launch at startup, but if you don't like that, delete "\Windows\Startup\HapticFeedback.Startup.lnk".
If Haptic Feedback is already running, starting the link again will cause it to exit.

Feature Request
I know Heptic feedback is primarily designed to be vibrate response function but my suggestion is, Allow user setting to select both when Heptic feedback or audible feedback on or off for example only if SIP keyboard is enabled or in a specific program.
I really don't like the screen tap sound when used in general for all screen taps under winmo general settings but I would like the ability to have screen taps sound or vibrate feedback or both when I use my keyboard. So the ability to assign sounds or vibration independently of each other would be nice.

Why do you think I made it?
It only consumes as much power as getting called constantly, and it's great for annoying people trying to use my phone...
thanks for sharing its cool.

Meh...
I wrote it mainly because I find it useful, and partly to test if I can get input from the device - I'm planning on creating a keyboard hook to launch my Dialer when the "call" button is pressed.
ooo! you should also share this with supbro for his iDialer..
that would be magnificant!
i'm off to sleep, 2000 hours of studying tomorrow.

As of yet, no. Currently, the vibration motor is being controlled in the same way as LEDs, so it's either on or off... I'll look into an alternate method though.
It won't work on my LG-KS20 too. Just like the other pgm - Vibration Feedback.
this is nice little app

I think there is a way. Vibrations in Tweeter are very light, compared to the ones when there is a call or an alarm.
Excellent App, i will watch this development closely as its something id love. For the moment it feels like my Polaris is going to explode when i scroll Sometimes it also misses its "que"
But great work, very impressed.
Is a soft keyboard out there that click when you type a key, like the iPhone?
or
Is there a way to make the HTC keyboard do that?
I believe this would make typing much easier on the HD, just like the iPhone
I know people are working on haptic feedback, but I'm just not a fan of vibrate on every tap
Try SPB full screen keyboard. It has keyboard taps, skins, landscape mode et all.
thank you for your suggestion
i did try it, but i'm not completely happy with it, so i don't see myself paying for it
i just ended up enabling screen tap notifications
(in settings > sounds and notifications)
it does make a sound every time i touch the screen,
but i think it's worth it to have the keyboard 'click'
not a perfect solution, but may be someone else is curious

Try fingerkeyboard 2. Easy to use with a clicking noise after every push of the button.
I second FingerKeyboard2 much much better than the original keyboard. Typing is now a real joy and so much quicker.
Nice clicking sound too.
I tryed your suggestion and now I'm a happy user of FingerKeyboard2. Thanks!

hi all,
i would like to ask hd users if it has a haptic feedback or if it vibrates whenever i touch the screen. is it built in? i am thinking of getting either the td2 or hd.
thanks everyone!
It does, but not for every touch you make, only for certain buttons etc.
I've only had a quick go on a Touch Diamond 2, but it felt pretty similar to the HD with a Topaz based ROM installed to me. From what I've seen though the TD2 has been faster than the HD in many benchmarks so if you don't mind the slightly smaller screen then the TD2 might be a better option in the long run, especially with official WM6.5 updates.
true. so if i text using hd it does not vibrate when i press the keys when i text? problem is it is still not available in our country. and i am really eager in getting a new device this weekend! plus the 3.5mm jack cant be ignored. the thing i hate the most with td2 is its back cover which gets scratched easily.
The HD vibrates when you type on the keyboard. Or not. It's up to you since it's a setting of the HTC keyboard.

You can install a free app called TouchResponse which I've attached for your convienience which makes every touch you make vibrate on the HD. Once installed go into its settings and activate it for vibrate response

Go to Settings, Personal, Input and click the Options button (not the options tab).
You've got an option there to 'Vibrate when keys are pressed'.
Usually when a call comes and the phone is inside the pouch (good for protection), there are several ways of messing up by accepting or rejecting the call even b4 its completely out of the pouch as blelow:
On screen:
1) U can press the on screen message but which will send an auto sms to the caller and end the call
2) U can press the answer key
3) U can press the ignore key
Off screen (hardware)
4) U press the answer key
5) U can press the end key
Incredibly, all 5 options are simultaneously active. The screen can be locked by S2U2 etc. but I cannot find any option of locking the hardware keys.
Any help will be appreciated
Firstly thanks for Omnia i8000 support on XDA..
Now I feel secure..
Secondly even I'll lyk to disable my hardware keys for call ans/end..
is there a registry tweak or something we can do to disable it..
s2u2 has that option... go settings/phone and u have S2A Hard ans/end key...
Search 542482 - there's an app for that over in the Mobile Apps & Games forum
Solution found!!!!
The issue was really troubling me and I finally found a solution. Install a small program called Incall lock which locks the call & end key. But that will totally disable u from accepting calls under WM6.1. So install s2u2 and enable screen response and voila!! U have. Both these are available elsewhere in this lovely forum.
Note:- The whole process during inplementation is quite messy as u will first have to install .net compact & samsung SDK software (both freely available).
4 software to do a simple thing which should have been taken care of by the OS. That's life under our billy, the goat.
Hope this help. I would be glad to give something back to this site, i have greatly benefited from.
TouchLockPro works great.
(I can't post a link yet...search for it in the Omnia 2 section at Modaco).

TouchLockPro is the answer, however, if both touch screen and the keys are locked on all in-coming calls, how the hell do you answer the phone? First to unlock it then answer it? A bit troublesome.

See, even if no software was there u wud have to press a key or tap something to answer anyway. With S2U2 and incall lock, the only point of access is the slider (in my case) with which i can either accept or reject calls. So if i swipe to ans, the lock opens and i can straight away start talking. So there really is no extra step involved. Whereas, if I do not lock the key, I will have to be careful not to press the keys accidentally which is difficult as I often put it in my pocket and more so inside the pouch. I think the swipe to answer is the killer option.

Slide to Answer is great option to traditional Click to Answer, that is very true, however, that option has been adopted in 6.5 and some 3rd parties phone app as well, so if in i8000 case, the phone interface can be omitted and use the 6.5 or simply use those better and more feature phone apps

Well, as I said I hv 6.1 & 6.5 not yet available in my country. so...
Hi,
I installed Throttle Lock.. Nice lock... it has slide to answer..
secondly it does not interfere with the touch player, lyk s2u2 does..
Are you using Omnia II with WM6.1 ?
Because throttle lock is not saving the settings on my phone. And yes, I am clicking the "ok" button at the top right and getting a message "changes saved". And my slide to answer is ON but no slide is displayed. All I can see is the default lock screen which opens when I click on a button on screen but that certainly does not solve my problem. Using ver .07 (latest).
I have even registered myself. Hell, the config.xml file shows Calllock is on but its not even locking when the call comes. That should be the very basic default function. Sorry, back to s2u2.
I am using WinMo 6.1 original Rom...
I installed it on Storage memory.. and its workign fine.. It does interfere with the Samsund dialer when the call comes in... but I will try disabling the samsung dialer and check... back to your issue.. Try re-installing it.. and it should work.. iam able to save all my settings..
And when the call comes in My hardware keys are lock as well and I get option to Slide to Answer or reject..

Thanks. I unistalled S2u2 and installed again. Still no. Yet the program was working when I clicked on it. So, luckily having some working knowledge of windows, I found that the program is not putting a link in the start menu or start up folder. This I had to do manually. But thats unclean.
And what happens when a call comes is funny. There is a brief fight between the throttle default , the windows splash & the lock screen itself. Luckily, the lock screen is winning every time. But again unclean or is it the links I have placed.
Currenly, I have links to both thottlelock & throttlelockdemon in the startup & lockdemon in the start menu. How is it with u?
Also in the setting under samsung default setup, the options like lock mode & incoming are white on white. What are your current settings ?
Think this program was designed for HTC. But is definitly smaller and though not neat...working. Thanks
I have mapped it to a hardware key, so when I want to lock I press the hardware key..

Use incall lock for locking the keys when call comes. Works perfectly.
Tried the throttlelock for 2 days. Sometimes, the default wm screen was coming up and the look is messy. So more experiements......but till date s2u2+incall lock looks the cleanest. Will keep looking...

I'm using TouchLockPro. It's much faster and less memory consuming than S2U2 and it has multiple ways to unlock your phone!
In the newest version, you can unlock your phone by using the proximity sensor (and our Omnia II has one )
So if your phone wakes up in your pocket our pouch, it won't unlock, but if it wakes up in your hand or on your desk, it will unlock immediately!
Consequently, if you have an incoming call and the phone is in your pocket: It will remain locked until it's out of your pocket so you don't have to manually unlock before answering
I love it!
