I have a problem with my HTC Blackstone on the music player, i can't scroll the music in the library when i go on the "all music" tab
Does anybody have the same problem or know how to repair this?
Up Up Up Up
Yes, I have the same problem
and
No, I've not worked out how to fix it.
It seems unable to scroll beyond a certain number of tracks in that view.
I have hundreds of tracks in there so it's a very long list.
Generally, I find it easier to locate my music by album or artist. That seems to work OK with the number of albums I have loaded.

Hi guys,
I finaly got to loading my entire shuffle list into my HD and noticed that, when trying to play my music trough TF3D, it does exactly nothing.
After a reboot it shows the album art and the list, but I can't scroll it up/down or make it play.
When I go into Windows Media Player, it plays the entire playlist perfectly.
Does TF3D have any known problem with 1400+ song playlists?
Hi
Is it possible to scan through albums on the music player then when you select an album get it to play the whole album.
At the moment, "flicking" just takes me to the next track in the current album.
I can do it via the library but it seems a more intuitive way to flick through your albums on the first screen.
Thanks
Mal
Hi All
Been lurking a while but never posted, but found this thread when searching for the answer to the same question. So instead of typing the same question out I thought I'd bump this up and see if anyone knows the answer? If it's possible at all, that is...?
I'm bumping it up too, I thought I was just overlooking something obvious...
I've looked into this extensively in the past.
As far as I know, there is no way to "flick to next album" in TouchFLO's music player. I wish it were possible.
There is a third-party app that will work similar to iTunes's cover view. However, when I tried it out back in December, it didn't work right for me. Maybe they have improved it by now.
Here is a youtube sample video. It's called S2P player.
If you search the forums here, you'll find it. Google will also bring you to it, however, I don't know which one is the latest updated version. If I find the latest version, I'll post a link here.
EDIT::::::::::::::::
Here is the thread in XDA
Here is the developer's own website
I don't know if it supports WVGA resolution. Edit: yes, there is a version for HD, Xperia etc.. (although it still says VGA).
Okay, I just installed it. It works better now, but it is still buggy. However, here are some downfalls (at least in my case):
1. It does not support using my bluetooth headset.
2. The volume buttons don't work. So, I have to use the application's volume slider to adjust volume.
3. In cover flow, it is not easy to return back to the album you are listening to. The scrolling is sometimes choppy and sometimes way too fast. Hard to control.
4. In cover flow, I cannot adjust volume (since my volume buttons don't work). I have to return to portrait mode to adjust the volume.
5. Navigating through your music is not very user-friendly (other than in cover flow). It's basically a built in folder explorer - so you can't compare it to TFL3D's library. And sometimes that folder explorer window goes blank on me and I have to restart the app.
So, it definitely can use some improvement, but I still like it. I guess it's a bit more eye candy than anything, although it is nice to be able to flick from one album to the next. Maybe I'll use it sometimes, but it definitely won't replace my TFL3D player imho.
Thanks Chris, just thought I was missing something, it least I don't feel stupid now.
My music is currently ordered alphabetically with all the albums mixed together.
How do I set it so that it displays music in order?

In the player's library, you see several tabs at the bottom. The one with the musical note by itself lists "all songs" in alphabetical order. Try a different tab depending on what order you want.
Is that what you meant?

I've selected Library => Album tab => up - which takes me back to the Touch Flo screen.
Ive then used the up \ down arrows to cycle through the tracks and its still in alphabetical order.

What do mean by "up"?
Anyway, while in Album view (don't go to "now playing" just yet).
Tap the album you want to listen to.
Now the songs are listed.
Tap the song you want to start playing.
That album is now your new "now playing" list.
If in step 2, the songs are listed alphabetically and not by track number, it is probably because the mp3 tags for those files don't have a track number entered in them.
Are your mp3 tags well organized?

When you enter the Library, there is an Up option on the left hand side... Now Playing is on the right.

Yep, that kinda works, but it only plays that particular album. It doesn't go onto the next album.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Oh okay. On mine it says "Back". I use Dutty's 3.7 ROM.

yeah, that part is annoying. It's not easy to flip from one album to the next in TFL3D. That was the original question in this thread.
What you could do is:
set up a playlist and add the albums you want to it (or only the songs from certain albums).
If you play that list, then it will go from one album to the next
but if you manually want to skip to an album in that playlist, you'll have to enter the library, and choose it from the now-playing list.
Another option (if you will only listen to one artist that has several albums) is:
Go to the Artist tab
select the artist
then in that window, go to the all-songs tab, and tap a song.
The player will now start with that song, but all of the songs from that artist are in your now-playing list.
Yeah, just to confirm, this is something that I also researched for quite some time after TouchFlo came out (specifically being able to flick between albums on the TouchFLO screen itself). Unfortunately, as we've already discovered, it's not possible. The two workarounds that Chris Cross mentions above are the closest you can get to it. As much as I would have loved to be able to do everything in TouchFLO and never have to leave it, I actually ended up turning off the music tab altogether. Since the tab itself is so lacking in features, it was much more worth it to install one of the many other great, free media player apps found here on this forum.

Bugger.
When I first started using Touchflo it played through fine. (Ok, I couldnt flip through albums, but that didnt bother me.)
I then tried to add new mixes to the library, and that messed up the play order.

Thanks for the help.
I have this issue where my music seems to be in a great mess. Is it possible to somehow set the media player to view music folder by folder?
Perhaps you need to tag it properly? Mp3tag is a good program for that, if that is indeed the problem...
Erm...are there any guides for tagging? Because I have no idea what that is. Even though I placed the songs I wanted to together into the same album, I ended up with multiple albums with different songs but same album name,
Well
Computers are like me, anal perfectionists. The name "This is an album" and "This Is An Album" an "This is an album" are 3 totally different things. If they are not correctly tagged, with EXACTLY the same name, they are not the same as far as the phone is concerned.
Tagging is simple, use mp3 tag, loads your songs and fill in the form fields (album, arsits, title ,etc then save. Make sure they are identical for each song by same artist/in same album.
To help make sure, select all similar tracks of the same artist or album together before you fill in that field, that way you ensure the exact same data is input in all of them.
Although it makes little to no difference to WM player I also sort my music into folders.

It's just good housekeeping more than anything and keeps things tidy and simple. Besides, some other program (S2P)actually sort by folder in their library view.
P.S. I also recommend mp3tag, it's pretty close to perfect.
Ah...wait...you mean for the music to be in the same album, the artist must be the same? So exactly what are the factors that determine the music being in the same folder? (It goes by artists? Not by albums? And you mentioned titles. How can the titles be the same for all the music?)
Oh and despite the fact that I changed the tags for the albums, it somehow remains the same in itunes and the Media XPerience Panel. Oh and this is how I change tags. I highlight the whole set of music I want to place in the same album. I right click and press "extended tags". I then edit from there. Is that right? What do things like export/convert etc. do? (Oh and I do save.)
Only if you group them that way, of course if the artists are different just make sure the Album is exactly thesame on each track. I for example keep all compliation/etc albums in an artist called "Various".
That's the issue! I have edited the songs I want together by placing them into the same album by using "extend tag". And yet, The album cannot be found on the Media Xperiance and the Itunes.
No need
You shouldn't need to use the advanced tags, in fact I removed everything from advanced tags that was non standard leaving only album, artist, title, genre and maybe year. I also found that if I edited them directly on the card it didn't work. They aren't updated. I moved them to the PC, edited, deleted any files related to library on the phone then moved the music back.
I don't understand very well your question, because if you choose Menu - Open File - and then select your folder, but don't open it, click on "Read", it reads the files that are in the folder you selected.
But I recommend you doing playlists from your PC with Windows Media Player and synchronize them with your phone. Or there is a nice freeware, MPlayListManager which can create playlists directly on your phone.
Anyone have a Mac solution to this? I use iTunes as my library manager but it seems to me the music information isn't edited by iTunes.
I've searched on here and on google, found a few people referencing the same issue but no resolution.
When flipping through albums coverflow style, and selecting one, it plays the songs in alphabetical order, not track order. If I go into the album using the list, it plays back properly. Anyone managed to solve this issue, or doesn't get it at all? I got it on the original T-Mobile rom, and also on Modaco 2.2.
Also, does anyone know how to get it to let you flip through albums again once you have gone down to a lower level?
I think your describing the same problem twice .
The 'album flip' is just that it displays the album art for what is in the NowPlaying list. Songs from the same album are grouped together if they are queued neatly next to each other.
So, if I got 2 songs from album A in the NowPlaying list, then 2 songs from album B, then 2 songs from album A again.... it will display 3 albums in the flip.
If you would add all your music on your SD card back to the NowPlaying list, neatly ordered by album / track, you would get the flip back that you want.
But since the music player has a simple dumb bug in that it adds the songs in the completely wrong order, the only method of doing so is creating a playlist with all your music beforehand on your PC and opening that.
Yeah I think you're right. If I go into the album list, then select play all, it nearly works - it lets me flip through the albums correctly, but the tracks are then in alphabetical order. It's nearly there, and better than it was on the Diamond, but still frustrating!
and making a playlist that contains all your music (make it on the PC, with the songs in the correct order) does that help? Not perfect, but at least a work around until they fix the music-order bug.
I use media monkey to upload music and the generated playlists work fine.
Hi everyone!
I manage all my music in iTunes on my Mac and transfer it to my devices with iSyncr, which is a great app. However, in iTunes i use the album artist field a lot (e.g. artist: Eminem feat. Dr. Dre, album artist: Eminem).
This causes a problem in most Android music players as they don't read the album artist tag and make my artist list way too long and unreadable. Currently I'm using Google Play Music player which does in fact support the album artist tag. But i would love to use the stock music player on the Galaxy Tab 2 because of the shortcut dock on the standard launcher.
Mostly I'm just curious about why some players support the album artist field why others doesn't. Also, I have searched and searched about this without finding a lot of useful information. Am I the only one who gets annoyed by this? Anyone else having trouble with music tagging at all?
Thanks for any feedback!
