hi! before my tytn i had nokia smartphone and i had program for bluetooth remote control. (control freak) now i have tytn, but i can't find good program. i need program, that controls winamp quickly and smooth. there are many winamp plugins, but they are very, very buggy and connects 1 per million. my old control freak connects for 2 seconds, the connection in strong and it had desktop control (the desktop screen appeared on my nokia)
so please i need such a program for partys and for comfort.
10x, very much!
I'm looking for something similar...
(on my Nokia, I was using Puppetmaster; but while there are .jar and ppc clients, I can't get them to work)
Jörg
I'll publish a BIG roundup on all these questions very soon (as did I with "full" remote control solutions - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1092389 ) - stay tuned
Oh my, i loved control freak. It's an excellent prog with sexy GUIs. right now i'm using RemoteAmp for my PPC, not bad but it runs over wifi. Or you could run it over EDGE/GPRS/3G. Overall it's great, it GUI isn't that sexy, but it's workable.
Puppetmaster allowed one to control different programs (WinAmp, Zoom Player, Media Player, Powerpoint, Acrobat, ...) and allowed one to add scripts to get support for other non-natively supported softwares.
I'm currently actually still using my old Nokia as a remote (I kept it as a backup device)...
Jörg
PuppetMaster is great ("fantastic" is the word ), but I wish the developer would continue the development...
Perhaps this is an option:

Anybody found a good application that works well as a bluetooth remote control for Windows Media Player or winamp or divx?
I use Salling Clicker, it does pretty much all you ask but unfortunately it's not free.

Jaylee1024,
Up till now, I haven't been able to test your software, as I'm using a Widcomm stack on my PC's...
I'm about to reinstall my system, and before installing Widcomm, I'll give your software a test (given the bluetooth features I use, the MS stack may suffice for me).
But I have found a software (Altiris SVS) that might be used to allow switching between both bluetooth stacks, so I'll also see if/how that goes...
Jörg
I use PPC tablet. It is not that good looking but easy to use. You have different profiles for different programms and you can make your own profile realy easy.

Thanks VJ, I've had reports that some latest version of the Widcomm stack might do the trick, but if you could keep me posted on your tests, I'd be interested too
Thanks !

I second this. I've used it on my 7610, 6682 and now my 8525. It's fantastic. Plus you can control with either bluetooth or wifi

Apparently, that utility can't really be used to swap bluetooth stacks. But I now have the weird situation where both WidComm and MS Bluetooth stack are active at the same time . I'm not sure what this is doing to the stability of my system though , or if both effectively work, so I'll need to test some things first.

Hi again,
I have in stalled the latest Salling CLicker 3.0.1.347, but when prompted to setup my device i am unsure which to choose. The choices are:- http://www.salling.com/Clicker/windows/devices.php
I have tried WM5/Smartphone and a few Dopod ones (I have a Dopod 838Pro) and when I open Salling Clicker on the phone i get "Fatal Error Service Unavailable most likely cause is incompatible device or faulty installation".
Has anybody successfully set it up?
Cheers, hawsktf
Handset requires rebooting after installing Salling Clicker... It's all good
Also, don't forget to check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294524 - it's the long-promised roundup.
Does anybody out there have, or know where to find some Salling Clicker scripts for Hermes?
Hi Folks,
I was wondering a while ago if there would be a way to use the internal FM-radio for TMC purposes in TomTom which is pre-installed on the Cruise.
After a bit of searching on the web, i found a small program called DecoRDS, made by J.R. Pueyo (big credits to him!)
Now, i installed this on my Cruise with TomTom6 and initially it didn't work.
So, here are my settings on which the tool works and seems to work (haven't established a full working setting just yet):
Code:
1. Install both files provided from the link on your device. NOT MEMORYCARD
2. Run DecoRDS
3. go to Input, Port, and set it to COM4
4. go to Input, 9.600 bps and set it to 57.600 bps
5. Press OPEN, which will start the RDS tuner
6. go to Input, CONTROL, and select manual. Now you can search the frequencies for the RDS signal.
(optional: 7. enter 98,6 since it's Radio 1 with ANWB TMC for Netherlands)
Now, this SHOULD work, but i haven't figured it out completely yet, since it doesn't work in TomTom yet.
Anybody interested in helping me find out?
Here's the rapidshare: http://rs13.rapidshare.com/files/59746182/DecoRDS_Netherlands_beta.zip
Don't you need the wired earphones attached for the radio to receive any signals?
most certanly you do,
or at least a spliter (htc usb to audio usb and charge)
Great discovey,
can you post a link to the program's webpage to keep informed on future releases ?
sorry i can't help test it
My cruise is in service, and in romania there isn't any station with tmc
I searched so long for an application like this!!! Is it only working for NL users? Can it also work with iGO8?
thanks
hompage is www.lacasadelgps.com but i can't find any information about the software
a lot of information here
it looks like it is possible to have TMC on normal PDAs. even more it is possible to have TomTom use the TMC data.
After reading the forum I see that it is possible to use TMC in some countries.
This due to the fact that you need "translation tables". these tables "translate" the name of the road (say A12) to map coordinates in TT. It looks these tables are only available for Spain and Italy at the moment.
... and .de and .nl

DecoRDS's purpose is to decode RDS data received by a GPS-TMC receiver. It decodes the NMEA wrapping, maps the TMC location code to a geographical position using location tables then it send the information to Tomtom.
It does not work as far as I know with HTC Touch Cruise/Polaris internal radio.
You might be right, as i can't seem to get any frequency with a working RDS signal. I have the frequency, but the program doesn't seem to use the internal radio... Bummer. Wonder if it could, only problem is, i don't have any knowledge of programming...

Not true
TT is able to use TMC. If TT7 has the subroutines to use it I do not know. TT is using the same programmingcode for all their devices. They sell their own TMC receiver. http://www.tomtom.com/products/accessories/accessory.php?ID=510&Product=500&Category=0

Sorry, but this simply isn't true.
TomTom Go devices are TMC ready but Linux based.
TomTom Naviator isn't TMC ready and Microsoft Windows Mobile based.
Both versions have strictly nothing common (except GUI).

Hi Everyone,
is it possible to develop a "virtuell TMC Port" by using the inbuild fm radio (rds)?
There are programs that could do this LINK, but i found this only for PC, not for PPC.
Maybe a brain or well-informed person could find / develop a solution?
I'm sure many people would become happy
nobody any idea?
I would be very happy indeed as I am missing TMC with my trusty Navigon 7

Thats an issue where thousands of user look at and dozens of really smart dev guys has already spent weeks of brain work.
I think there is an ETEN glofiish model out in the market beeing able to receive TMC by it's bult-in fm module and some guys tried to catch and patch the famous gpstmc.dll and fm.dll but they had no success afaik.
A tool called "DecoRds" has been developed by the spanish guy Jose-Ramon and this tool provides a bypass to feed the RDS-based TMC messages into TomTom.
See this for details (in German):
http://www.forum.pocketnavigation.d...62&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1
Search for "gpstmc.dll" and/or "decoRds" here and outside and you'll find a lot but there is still no solution....and you'll find too the unfortunate reasons why: it's mainly a matter of device incompatibility and manufacturer-specific coding interests...
so short

I don't have X1 but if X1 has compatible FM radio chipset with diamond/raphael FMS driver, you can get TMC data from the build in FM radio.
Otherwise if somebody can give a copy of FM radio application and FM radio driver on X1, maybe I can reverse engineer that API like I did for Raphael.

So it is possible to use a gps application with TMC support on the Diamond without any peripherals? If so, I bet the API /drivers/chipset on the X1 are the same, since it's made from HTC and has a common Qualcomm chipset.

FM driver works exactly the same as the Blackstone version, not tried a raph one, there's no standalone x1 radio app just a panel so we tend to use the blackstone one..
But heres the X1 fms_api.dll and fms.dll from r3a release..
If you need anything else or these aren't what you need let me know.
Cheers

So do I see it right, that flywhc was able to extract the TMC info from FM radio?
I guess we only need to port that info on a COM port so that the navigation program (i hope also navigon) is able to read the info.
correct?
Hope to have TMC in Navigon soon
Something new?
Ok. So i'm ready to remove tilewave and all the panels to be able to update SPB MS but i want to be able to listen to FM radio. Anyone who knows a FM radio app that works with X2?
Just do what I did mate, keep the stock vulcan SPB MS and add the Vostradamus Spb Mobile Shell Manager to it. It worked very well, no glitches. There are lots of widgets as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689087
Yeah I saw your original post on that.
Perhaps I'll skip the fm radio software, I do have a data plan so I guess I can go online for radio instead.
Now I'm gonna clean out all SE mumbo jumbo and only keep the necessary drivers. And to that change the panel hardware button behaviour. When that is done I think a fresh SPB MS 3.5.5 install will work like a charm. Think I skip the Vostradamus Spb Mobile Shell Manager, seems a bit to advanced for my interest in the phone.
Found a nice media player btw, Kinoma player. Worth a try, there is a free limited player to try.
The last official WWE ROM which has Microsoft Bluetooth stack is Topaz ROM, both for WM6.1 (21042) and WM6.5 (21887). HTC Tachi also has MS bluetooth stack but this is not WWE. Thereafter all I can see that HTC shipped with Broadcom bluetooth stack.
Anyone know if there are more ROM with MS bluetooth stack? I haven't looked at Omnia2 and Sony Xperia ROMs.
Wowser, are you saying that the Topaz actually can use both the MS stack and the Broadcomm stack? Man, I've been trying to put the Broadcomm stack onto my Touch Pro, I think it really is possible now. Thanks!
It is not that easy as moving few files (I know, too bad ). I want MS bluetooth stack on my HD2, as it supports Bluetooth Mouse profile and with proper software it can show you cursor . Plus it has better A2DP sound and less c*aps out.
I have here also HP HX4700 that supports it and uses Widcomm /Broadcomm?/ BT stack, it has some kind of plugin for that. But I doubt it is compatible anyway, as this one is rather old (4 - 6 years).

I actually think it's easier to put the MS stack onto another device than the Widcomm one. What you need is a device like the Topaz with the registry settings for OEMDrivers (for example Serial_btur**.dll) as well as a WM build that has the MS stack, and it should work. Of course what I'm trying to do is add the widcomm stack, so it might not be as easy as it sounds ^_^;
Xperia X1 is one of devices with ms stack.
as well as a WM build that has the MS stack

For a complete bluetooth experience, it's crucial to have the original "bluetooth" in the "Common" folder (OSKitchen). For example, I've worked with HTC builds that did not include that folder, thus breaking stuff like PAN visibility (because Broadcomm controlled that).
So, I've been looking through some Topaz ROMs, but I can't seem to find any with the Broadcomm stack. These are the ones I have tried:
Code:
RUU_Topaz_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.40.707.1_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.20t.25.10_3.43.25.19_Ship

HTCPUREATTOriginalShipROM
I don't have a legendary connection speed, and thus I don't have the capacity to try them all, but which ones include the Broadcomm stack?
The list of ROMs I am able to get:

If its possible to get the MS stack working on the HD2 I would be a very happy bunny. I moved from a Blackstone to a HD2 and although the speed increase was fantastic there are some annoying issues and Bluetooth is the biggest. Other than the speed I was really happy with the Blackstone and everything just worked - slowly but worked...
