Flash light - XPERIA X1 General

I realised theres no option to turn on the flashlight outside going into the camera application.
Are there free to download applications to use this flashlight?
Also is there no way to put the camera on a state where it automaticly finds out wether it should use the flash or not, like, every single other camera?

I have been wondering about this as well and found it very odd. On the other side I don't think that I will use the camera that much anyway as it is pretty horrible looking at image quality I think. Before I was used to a SE K800i which had a Cybershot camera which made pretty good images for a phone and it had a xenon flash instead of the LED(???) one the X1 has.
I suppose it would be possible to somehow get hardware access to the camera and flashlight and somehow build a program for that.

Am sure it’s called Torch button or torchlight. I think I found mine on this forum not sure. But if you try searching you find it!
Rax

have been asked more than once before. Torchbutton it is. Use search.

For those looking for Torch Light software for your phone, you can check out the below link.
H-Torch
Usage:
The program installs itself into "%ProgramFiles%\hTorch" and also creates a shortcut into %StartMenu%\Programs\Accessories. The further usage is as simple as possible. Start hTorch using the shortcut. On program start the LED will automatically be turned on and you will see the programs main screen.
On the main screen you can:
* enable and disable the standard LED mode using the upper left bulb button.
* enable and disable the bright LED mode using the upper right bulb button.
* disable the display using the lower left button (The display can be turned on again using the power button)
* exit the application using the lower right button.
* enable and disable the standard LED mode using the D-Pad Action hardware button.
* enable and disable the bright LED mode using the D-Pad UP hardware button.
* disable the display using the D-Pad DOWN hardware button.
I am using it and it is good as there are 2 brightness level for the LED as torch light.

PowerCheck v3.2

Has anyone used Powercheck before? I have a question regarding the "LCD off" function, which has the potential to be quite a handy tool:
How do I switch the screen back on again without using the power button? It allows you to assign a two-button press configuration to the action, but only gives the available options of "Button 1-5". Which button is which!?
Thanks,
Rich
all the
screen toggle programs i've used react to
all buttons and screen preasure to turn on the screen once more
Doesn't work with this one unfortunately.
Thanks anyway.
what about pressing contacts button ?
that sure works with the one i'm using now
Tried everything to no avail.
I'll probably go and look for another app. Any ideas? I want to be able display battery, storage and memory levels on the display screen as well.
pocket plus v2 does all of that i believe
but some people say it cause them problems on their xda2
others say it dont
Nice one, thanks Rudegar.
i managed to figure out that button 1 is the calender button (right side of earpiece), and button two is the contacts button (left side). all good. thanks again Rudegar.

Copying a buttons behaviour

Hi!
Is it possible to copy direct a buttons behaviour to another button?
Thing is, I use an app with multiple screens, and for some reason if I predd the camera button while the app is running in the background, the app is enabled with the screen I use the most as default.
I have not reprogrammed the camera button to act like this, it's just something it does while this app is running.
However, if i define another button to this app, the app opens in a different screen, and I have to click down on the cursor key 7-8 times to arrive at my usual screen.
When I use this app, my Universal is in a vehicle mounted holder, and the camera button is impossible to reach.
Therefore, if I could totally copy the camera button to either the light button (which I have enabled) or the cursor select button (on the face of the device) then my life would be complete. (well, almost...)
Anyone?

Dim the backlight?

Perhaps I'm nuts (in fact quite likely), but I can't find a way to dim the backlight during operation other than going to Settings... Backlight...
With my SX66, I was able to press-and-hold the Power button to turn on/turn off the backlight. On the TyTN, that brings up the Shutdown menu.
I already scoured the manual and found nothing.
Any ideas?
I use Spb Pocket Plus, adds a nice slider for brightness to today screen, among other things.
Pocket Plus may well be a good solution, but is there a built-in key/function for toggling the backlight?
If there is, I haventh found it.

Get yourself a copy of HandyMenu 3.5 from Dinarsoft !
It resides in the bottom task bar and can be invoked by one click with the stencil giving access to a number of self-configurable items such as the backlight.
Really very useful.

Turn off the LED on the hardware button

Anybody know know to turn off the LED on the hardware buttion like Start, OK, and IE.
Any kind of registry setting that will turn off that light on those button?
I'm curious why you would want to take away such a useful things away. Currently I use all the hardware button and wish there are more available. I use it for things such as changing SIP, rotate screen, start IGO, and control myp3 (such as volume up, volume down, next song, previous song, blank out screen, bring up the playlist, pause, unpause. This is while the device remains inside my belt pouch). The ok button is extremely useful in doing things such as hiding the phone application after use. Similarly if you're using program such as VITO fun contact, you could hide it after use without having to exit this extremely memory tiny application and able to instantly access your contact again anytime. Why would you want to disable all these useful features?

I suppose he just wants to turn off the light of the buttons to gain some more battery time, not to disable their use. Though I doubt you would gain so much by disabling the leds.
I noticed a gain in battery time when I disabled the blinking LEDs, but they blink all the time unlike the button LEDs which are only on sporadically. So I agree that disabling the button LEDs won't gain you anything.
I just think that the LED or the light is annoying. I didn't mean to disable the function.
The light around the joystick is fine. So any solution ??

Turn off screen on Windows Mobile

Hello everyone,
I have been searching for some time about a possibilitie / software that will work for my actual HTC (Diamond pro) but nothing comes to be even good. And then I remember the old times with an old HTC (sorry I do not remember the model) where a dedicate key could turn off the screen
what I am looking for, if anybody has an idea, please share it,
- hot key, shortcut that turn off the screen, and disable the touch screen
- the screen come become a-live with same key-press
that's all !!
and what I think would be the perfect solution.
- and application that as soon as it get started turn off the screen and disable the touch screen, letting still the functinality for the device to be controlled by the PC (personally I use MyMobileR )
- in that way it could be assign to a hot key, or to a short cut in the screen/menus (I will love to be possible to assign to a long touch on the central pad/button)
- it could have advance configuration options :
dim light levels instead of complete turn off
splash a logo / screen instead of black screen
- configurable key to let the app go, again lovely if a long central pad touch would make it
mainly the idea is to save battery / turn off the screen (touch also) in a easy way without lose any other functionality when the device think is not time to do it (connected to PC, GPS application, Music playing, etc...)
any idea ?
I would love to program it, but I lack the skills necessary for it. within my ignorance I presume is not a difficult app to be develop
thanks in advance
have you tried xdaShutdown?

you can make a .lnk file of "lights out" and assign it to a button.
