My Diamond plays no videos anymore!?!? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hello,
the phone played it befor, then after I deinstalled some software, it doesnt play any videos at all anymore!
It only shows a black screen and plays the sound!
Only the TCPM plays videos..
What should i do??

You need the correct codecs to play certain formats.
What exactly did you uninstall?

i have the same stupid problem....
i cant play video on youtube....
i thought that i need a codecs but i dont know which one....
note:as far as i remember youtube worked perfectly a week before

I've got the same problem,
I think it's to do with Coreplayer or TCPMP, once I installed these programs, Youtube videos wouldn't show any video only sound.
Because I use Coreplayer quite a lot, i haven't tried uninstalling yet. But I'll try it and use memmaid to clean the registry and see if that works...

hope you find something....

anyone experience thiss too?...... any videos i've taken with the camera won't play in the normal player, ie select the video from TF3D and press play, i get sound and no video again. The file will play through coreplayer though...
anyone else with the youtube problem get this aswell?

Only the Videos, wich i made with the kamera for example!
I Deleted now the whole memory! And nothing happend! Still the videos are not showing!
The problem is within the Windows Media Player, and I cant find a CAB, to reinstall this! Or at least install the standart codecs new!

.......

So? Noone can help me?!?!
I really do not know what i should do!
I hardreseted the phone again, but nothing happens! Only a black sreen and sound is comming up..
Please someone!

i tried to install youtube but no luck still the black screen....
i cant play my own recorded video with the default windows media player...
i searched and found that TCPMP is the reason
we need to reinstall the codec...
any help???

Yes, one way, to reinstall the Windows Media Player or the other way would be, to reinstall the codecs.. But I've not found any cab (not on the phone storage nor on the internet)..
HELP!! I really would like to watch videos again!

Very poor playback of video on p3600 (trinity)

Hi all.
I have a Trinity since just a couple of days and I´m very happy with everything about it, except for one huge thing that will make me get rid of it if it´s not solved shortly.
The problem is that for some reason I can´t watch divx movies or listen to mp3 files thru the standard player I´ve always used in windows mobile phones all the way back to the qtek s100. I use TCPMP (former Betaplayer) and I encode with PocketDivXEncover as usual. When I try to watch the movie I only get a very distortet image with a lot of pixels and strange colors, and very distorted and wierd sound for a couple of seconds, and then the screen goes black?! I still have my Qtek 9100 with the exact same program in it so I transferred the same exact video files to that phone and tried them, and they work and play perfectly and smoothly as they should. So obviously there is nothing wrong with the program or the video files, so what could be wrong?! I thought it might be something with the program then so I tried installing DivXPlayer and CorePlayer, but the same issues are there as well. Doesn´t work.
It´s totally fine to play mp3 files thru the built in windows media player, then they play just fine, and it´s also fine to play wmv video files thru media player.. But the wmv format is simply way too bad to watch movies on such a good screen. Divx is way better and I just can´t understand why this new and expensive product can´t play back divx files when all my old pocket pc and windows mobile phone of several years back can handle it with no problems at all.
I´ve tried searching around but havn´t found any sollution to the problem or what is causing it, just others with the same problems. Please help, I really don´t want to get rid of this phone as I think it has everything I could possibly want except for this major problem!!
Thanks!
same here i have the same problem, apparently if you select RAW buffer or something like that it sorts it, not got round to it yet, too much else to experiment on!
for video though i use "total video converter" & select "mobile mpg4" 320x240 500kbits/s and they play perfectly in media player
Ok, I´ve tried all the settings in TCPMP, putting it in directraw and everything, I can quite ok picture if I do that, but the sound still doesn´t work properly. It plays for a couple of seconds, then distorts in a wierd way and then stops playing even thou the video is still playing..
I´ll try the program and settings you stated and see if the result is satisfactry. I´ve never been able to get the same quality with wmv as with divx, so that´s why I don´t like wmv as a video format, escpecially on such a large and good screen and the trinity has.

there is a atifix.cab file around here which may solve your problem. Please use the search function...
Ok, just tried Total Video Converter with the settings you described, and it´s actually quite ok with the mp4 format. But still not as good as divx, can still see some pixel artefacts, but a lot better than the wmv format. So I guess until someone comes up with an explanation and sollution to the divx problem I´ll have to stick with mp4..
Thanks for your tip!
I am using PV Player that came with Orange, no problems here.

Youtube movies?

Is it possible to get Youtube movies working on the BA (running WM6), and if so, what player do I need?
The TCPMP player gives me a "RTSP protocol not supported" error when trying to look at a Youtube movie :/
hi there!
there is some kind of plugin/addon, which allows you to download youtube movies to your pda....
just search this forum or google for it, here is ONE source!
hope that helps....
regards,
krz
I have that tcpmp plugin, and it does work most of the time. I've run into some files on youtube that still give me an unknown media format error. Not sure why.
The Avot Media Viewer that someone posted about here a week or so ago works great though.
http://www.avotmedia.com/
http://m.avotmedia.com/
The Avot is OK but it needs much work to be more than OK.
I use the vTap.
http://veveo.net/
Use the search bar to browse uploaded videos from any embedded video website (like youtube, metacafe etc).
You can also have a feature of searching into wikipedia articles!
Very cool...
After doing a bit more digging, I installed Streaming Media v 2.10 build 518.700 (from High Tech Computer Corp.) on it.
It's working GREAT!
Download link and more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=313961
hi everyone!
well, i installed the HTC STREAMING cab, which was included in xplode's cabs. i dont know, what version this actualy is...
anyway, i can playback youtube movies, but the performance sucks big time.... lots of stuttering, not enjoyable at all.... is it just me experiencing this problem?
is the BA oo slow to playback such vids?
or am i doing something wrong here?
thx in advance,
krz
you should check your internet connection too...
me again!
have to add, that i now have the FLASHVIDEOBUNDLE.cab installed, which not only gives me great streaming playback using TCMP Player (make sure u have installed the right version first!), but in addition to that gives me the oppotunity to save the flash videos to your storage right away....
VERY COOL CAB!!! KUDOS 4 THE (true) CREATORS!
btw: that STREAMING thing that came with xplode's cabs still doesnt work... (my internet connection is of course up and running!!)
cheers,krz
okay, after playing around a little bit and after installing/deinstalling/reinstalling HTC STREAMING Software, i am afraid i screwed up flv playback completely...
every time i try to load a youtube site, pocketIE crashes and my device freezes, leaving me with soft reset as only solution!
i tried to play back flvs on the youtube mobile site as well, with no sucess. nothing happens! the vids just dont load....

what streaming client do you have installed?
the one, that came with xplode's cabs?
or that one: RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.rar?
the easy and fast way, install my streaming media cab open m.youtube.com and it will stream with the player just fine, tested and working

youtube not working on tcpmp

i dont know if im the only one that have this problem on the diamond but my tcpmp isnt working anymore. the other day i could watch and save videos but now it doesnt even show the play and save video anymore. can someone help me out because i think it has expired..
I cannot get TCPMP to work anymore. I just quit reading the files on www.youtube.com/?nomobile=1.
Has anyone else had this problem? I think Youtube has changed their video formats to that TCPMP won't work anymore.

TCPMP

Hi guys!
I have recently tried getting TCPMP to work on TP2. Without any luck.
Firstly there seemed to be a problem with it running on WinMo 6.1. That has however been fixed in a thead somewhere here on xda dev.
I have tried all three of these fixes, and while they managed to get TCPMP open after install (Not get the crash.txt msg), it caused the TP2 to crash when opening a video file (even when trying to run the video that comes with the phone (my documents -> movies)).
Anyone know of any other solutions? because i have been searching but havent found anything to get this working.
Cheers!
same problem to me, I can't even play the video recorded with my TP2. It just hang.
its special TCPMP thats, working here. I have this functional, if you want to post it, just let mi know.
JF
Make it so, please.
Why don't you use Coreplayer for playing movie clips?
I'm having not issues playing most types of movie file... Great player!
Probably because Coreplayer is not freeware.
TCPMP is the predecessor of Coreplayer
its here: http://www.digitwins.com/download/TCPMP-0.72RC1.zip
JF
No luck yet
Thanks for the link, but is this version working on yours? At least I was able to open a video file (mp4) without my TP2 crashing like it did with other recomps I've tried, but the image is all messed up with green lines and **** all over the place...
Sorry, Im not using TCPMP for viewing pics. Didnt noticed that. And Im not gonna use it fot it ;-)
JF
Hi there... i'm having problems to get work on tp2 a player that supports subtitles. Do you know anyone? Thank you very much.
Regards.
Coreplayer dont use in touch pro 2
Coreplayer dont use with processor touch pro 2. In the web of Coreplayer it ist possible reed.
Thank you and sorry for me english
I just use this app now works like a charm.
http://divx-player-mobile.en.softonic.com/pocketpc
It is not possible for me :
- Core player can't start, I don't see the app after pressing the icon
- TCPMP-0.72RC1 open, but the videos are not working, it crashes
Is it a problem of 3D driver or somethong like that?
Well I too am using Coreplayer and it works just fine. v1.3.2 build 6909 for ARM. Plays VGA .avi files perectly...
Had the same problem with TCPMP crashing until I unchecked "DirectDraw" in Video Settings (i.e. use GDI or Raw Frame Buffer).
twana, that is brilliant, I'd given up on TCMP having tried every version I could find.
Did you find out how to fix the blacked-out buttons in the toolbar?
Black buttons are caused by the theme you're using. And yes even HTC standard theme is causing this
Hello!
Thank you Twana, TCPMP works fine for me when I put "GDI" in the video settings!
It is great.

Now my babies can watch toons on my rhodium!
bye
coreplayer/tcpmp
Selecting gdi/rawframe buffer in video settings is a must. Also check tools -> preferences -> file associations if you want them to play aac mp4 etc it must be checked there.

Windows Media can't play videos? (jagan I need help!)

I use jagan2's ROM and everything works perfectly fine. But I have an issue with it. The windows media in the ROM can only play music but not the video. I downloaded divx program but I still dont know how to play the videos I recorded from my phone because it still opens the video file with windows media instead of the divx. How do I do to fix it?

Thanks for the response! But can you suggest another program because Coreplayer doesnt have sound for some reason?
Have you tried the freeware TCPMP? It plays almost every kind of files out there Audio and Video. You can get it right here on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636423
I'm using it on Jagan's Evo2 ROM and it works perfectly.
Good luck.
Yes, the above suggestions will work for you.
And yes in the new version it will be fixed. Still finding time to finish it.

what you mean that it doesnt have sound?
perhaps you downloaded the wrong version...or the trial one..also there is a thing in the program (a thing that can be scrolled, as in every another program.cause of my "good" english i cant really explain you what i mean and i dont rly think that somebody understands what i am writing here, however =D) that controls the sound.
i dont know.
but today i rewatched the "harry potter 6" with coreplayer and everything was super
http://4pda.ru/forum/dl/post/336158/CorePlayer.PocketPC.r7427.cab and i downloaded it from here (it's a direct link that doesnt need a keygen or a crack so enjoy)
what about the "TCPMP"..I never tried it, but cause it's freeware, it cant be better then the coreplayer =p
@jagan2, honey...this forum can live without you =p it would be better if the time that you are spending by answering questions here would be used on finishing the rom.thanks =D
Thx guys, i fixed it!
Btw, japan, I would like to try your ultimate EVO but is there a way to save the texts on my current phone because they are quite important and I dont wanna lose them from flashing new ROM.
