it happened after i soft-reseted my device today, the HTC icon didn't show up.
i can't really turn it on normally although i did hard reset. Please, all advices would be so appreciated
What did you did before the soft reset?
some new software installed?
What happens exactly when you try to turn on the Niki?
Can you put the Niki in bootloader mode?
I installed Spb Mobile Shell. It needs to soft reset after changing the original Spb Mobile Shell skin. I took the skin from PC to my device via Softick Card Export.
And now my Niki screen only shows "smart mobility" without being able to show HTC logo. I guess it can't be used to boot

Try to bootup without the SD card (and may be SIM), I had this problem with my Vox, the SD Card was corrupted. After formatting the SD Card, everythig became normal.

i have made the upgrade to wm5 to wm6.1
the pda at the first time has booted and i have configured the regional time and the pen alignment until the the screen that says Setup complete, click to proceed (or something like this).
After this, it gets stuck on the windows mobile 6.1 boot screen
i have made the re-update with the same rom update.
the problem persists!
I have made with/without sd card and sim.
Now when it boots apears
ONBL 1.07.0000
SPL 1010.olip
GSM 02.84.90
OS 1.17.0.0
then changes for the wm6.1 boot screen
and stucks here

hi
assuming ur phone is just dead ie just blank screen do this
1.power off the phone remove batter and press the power button 3 secs
2.put batter back in to the phone
3.Press camera button and then power on at the same time u will get tricolor
used usb and Flash new ROM
or press camera button and do soft reset using stylus this will also give u the tricolor use USB and flash new ROM

I had tried that also but not able to recover I had to burn the ROM again .
I am scared now to soft reset my gene. Never know when it will get hanged again. (pls note that it does not hang on every soft reset).
I liked the new ROM (6.1 pro Sumeet) so much. It is fast and have left enough room to add/execute other applications. I have read so many good comments about the ROM. I do not want to change it to any other version.
Please.. please try to get some solution.

Hello Guys,
I had installed HTC home plugin on my Xperia and now its hung or unresponsive. I can see the start, call and Menu on the screen but touching that does not do anything .

thats not for VGA devices, it's for QVGA which is why it's not working.
Can you acess the X1 from through activesync on your PC?
If so then you can uninstall it from there (add/remove programs)
if not then I'm afraid you'll have to hard reset, and learn a valuable lesson, make sure you know what it is you're installing..
Hard reset, is take the back cover off and stick the sytlus in the small hole in the side next to the battery, while holding down the two silver buttons on the front.

If you've done it right it must have made a difference as this wipes the devices memory. If you can't do this then don't even start messing about with mtty
if you see the SE logo, then you haven't done it right.
hold the two silver hardware keys on the front of the x1 down after you've reset. Keep pressing them down till you see some text that tells you to press R
If you don't see this screen keep trying (reset+press the keys) till you do.

Tell us if you have official or cooked rom as you may need to flash your phone with another rom
Gold card, if it fails.
Pls provide IPL,SPL and which rom did you flash.

I have a HTC ELF 0100 i want to change the language to english but i cant make anything. I try to hard reset the phone but this also is impossible. there is Windows mobile 6.1 installed in it.
Things you might need to know:
I HOLD the green and red Button and click on reset - for hard reset but nothing happens
To update an english rom i need to CID unlock. but this also fails saying ERROR 260.
And when try to upload a COOK rom it says ERROR 260 and the HTC screen become black i.e standy mode. it does not goes to the BOOTLOADER mode!

But i can assure you it an original one. Not clone or china made. But one things is that the battery is not an original one.

I was able to install ENABLERAPI.cab to make the above PROGRAM work.
i want to know why the ElF is not able to HARD RESET.... I HOLD the TWO BUTTONS [red&green] and PRESS RESET but it never enter the HARD reset..
Very Strange and time comsuming for me i need a REAL solution !!

Big chance your phone is a fake.. I'm sorry man..
Perhaps if you posted some pictures of your device (also the backside without the cover, and one without the battery) some might be able to help you figure out what's going on.

hi my friends.
I changed my jasjar's tomal 6.1 rom to Original WM5 for sell my phone
but after changing rom, i have a terrible problem.
when i closed the battery for change the simcard and turn it on. when the windows logo appears a blue screen showed and the gsm led begin to work (blinker).
after several soft resets the windows starts and ready to work but when i press the power button to standby the device (sometimes) for turn on the device (after standby) the screen didn't appear.!!
i'm very upset
after that i flashing the radio to newer version (1.18) and flash back to WM6.1 TOmal , WM6 , ... but i still have this problem.
in the tomal's wm6.1 rom (TML_v82_WM61_19960) before the problem shown an error appears under the windows logo > The Skin Is Not Loaded < and after that a black or blue screen appears and nothing...
please help me to fix it.

Only thing I can think of is to doc-format (mtty). And then flash ROM again. Then make sure you Hard Reset.

It's not harmful - basically it totally wipes the device removing everything (including garbage). So you will, of course, need to flash a ROM afterwards.
