Well, the WMV files will play but it's slow & jerky.
so isn't there to play HD AVI files on htc HD mini?
AVI will play!, but if 720p and above won't.
I searched so much and couldn't find one?
Strange it's Microsoft Windows Mobile! I don't believe, it must have!
We see on our Computer Windows has a Great Media Player
Thanks
Can't play at MP4 720p & above!
In the Album, I see the Picture of the Video!
but when press it, a Black screen will display! looks like it's it's finished?
Can't play at MP4 720p & above!
but lower yes.
So the problem is the Windows Mobile or htc HD mini? or needs a Software Codecs?
Thanks
same problem

Have you tried another video player like CorePlayer?
Maybe the CPU is not strong enough to play that files...
Yes I tried CorePlayer Before!
But I Never seen too Worst Player
Well Codiak, the CorePlayer doesn't play HD or so Jerky plays!
We need to be Powerful and should play HD Videos!
I Don't think the Phone is Bad;,
I think the Windows Mobile or the Players aren't Good!

wait for Android to be fully ported, and try Android players.
btw why do you want to play HD videos on HALF VGA screen resolution?
FULL HD=1920x1080
HALF VGA=320x480
p.s. i converted some videos on 720p and didnt work, then i converted to 480p and works fine, and looks very good, clear and bright..just like HD on TV,give it a try

But there is no fun in watching hd videos in such a small screen.
so i just did a pretty badass lagtest of the S2, pulled up 20 tabs, and played a video on all 20 tabs. not even the slightest hiccup, pinchzooming as smooth as a picture, no lag whatso ever, as smooth as going to google.com
had some stuff running in the background too, i didnt set up for this video at all.. original out of box stock rom.. totally unstoppable!
check out the video by yours truely~

To be fair that's probably more to do with BBC's shoddy application than it is flash or the phone. How else do you explain that other flash streaming works perfectly?

I know what you mean. The beeb uses some bull**** which meant that the iplayer was not available to us Linux users for a long time even though we have flash capable browsers that played everything else.
Has anyone tried watching a 1080p flash video from the browser? Was it smooth or choppy?
Smooth as butter. I watched a ton of 1080p videos off YouTube and megavideo.

Buddy u keep trying to hold this over the sgs2 head. If every flash based site/video runs perfectly, it has to be something with BBC right? Don't b a b.

That's because the ****heads at the BBC knows they'll be getting money from us every year regardless of the **** they produce. The TV licensing scheme is pure bull****, they should work for their keep like every other station.

I have this unique problem of not being able to play about 14 videos on my PC, but 8 others play fine.
Now on my phone, they all play fine.
I've tried VLC and then installed any codec possible.
Anyone else go through this or have any ideas as to what can be done, or what's going on?
I'd hate to lose these videos if I sell the phone or do an update in the near future.
Thanks.
Filetype?
10 char
Avi format.
10 char? Don't understand.
Thanks
So your saying you cant play AVI videos on your PC?
Sounds like a PC problem more than a Vibrant problem
In total, on my micro-SD card I have 24 videos, all of which play fine on the phone.
Once on my PC, only 8 of the 24 play fine, the others don't play at all.
Really sucks, because I'd like to keep these videos of my friends and dogs.
you're posting in the wront forum, how is this vibrant related? try maybe on a video forum...and it would be helpful if you could post the specs of the videos you can't play

Hmm, lemme see.
These are videos I took on my VIBRANT, in which only 8 of the 24 play on my PC, and all 24 will only play properly on my VIBRANT.
Not sure how it's Vibrant related, so I thought I'd post here for kicks really.
Uninstall all codecs and install klite codec pack or if you have windows 7 then try shark007 codec pack.

My point exactly, there you go. Since they all play perfectly on your vibrant and it is your PC that can't play them properly, then it's a PC issue and not a Vibrant issue.
Anyway, its either gonna be a bad phone to pc transfer of the videos, or bad codecs, either way a log of the specs of the said videos would help, or at least upload one of the troublesome videos so we can see if there's anything wrong with it use "mediainfo" to make a log of the specs and then "GSpot" to see if you have the right codecs
sometimes VLC has problems playing some videos

I hope your talking about 70mb SD encodes cause 70mb 720p would give you major eye cancer .
I dont think its the file size its probably the way the file has been encoded down to 70mb thats the problem. Since i have not had a problem playing anime i would watch on my pc.
I have just watched [Coalgirls]_Shiki_01_(1280x720_Blu-Ray_FLAC)_[5B75CA00] (430mb)(bitrate : 1600 kbps) with no problems. No lag in audio or subtitles and video was like 95% smooth, only the occasional jerk for a second when panning. Try a normal sd encode @ like 200ish mb.
I also had no problem playing The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya NCED theme (Hare Hare Yukai) SD video with karaoke soft-sub from here in the test videos part. Which is 30mb & bitrate: 3400 kbps.
My phone is rooted and bloat removed dont know if that helps....?
No man i got mine from minitheatre.org some small awesome anime encodes i thnk ur right that a few big ones play well i noticed sd ones work perfect its only hd ones i have trouble with them i use MX player ill test ur file to see if its working an all. Also I love bleach so put many bleach eps which i rewatch bout 100 times a day lolz on ma xperia play to but in 480p.
A lot of the higher quality anime I tried was lagging. I just use 480p most of the time now

anyone experiencing freeze when play a video on youtube in 2k. for example a video from MKBHD or someone else.
because i can only see videos in 1080.
anyone?
I've watched a few movie trailers in 2k and they played fine. I don't know who could watch an entire movie like that. Looks wierd to me. I always disable that auto motion plus crap on 240hz TV's. I'd rather everything I watch not look like a soap opera. =)
If you're on mobile data and you haven't called T-Mobile to cancel Bing On then they won't let you watch Youtube videos in 2k let alone 1080. They reduce the quality of Youtube videos to use less data. Of course if you're on wifi this doesn't make a difference.
If you have unlimited LTE, you can turn off Binge On.

It was pausing for me on his new video also, so I searched other 2k videos and all the others played fine. I think it is just his video.
Yes. 2k videos freeze on me occasionally. I really am curious what could be causing it. I also had my entire phone freeze once when playing a video in the Break app. It totally froze and the speaker was emitting a crazy high frequency sound. I just held the power button until it rebooted
I can't say for sure, heard that they reserved the right to throttle any crazy suspicious usage, but so far I haven't got one.
I use 25GB just this couple weeks, it's just because I'm taking a break from work, and watch too much K Drama, lol. But usually every month, I used 15-25GB.

No problem....Yea, depending on my signal, I used to have 1080 YouTube videos freeze on me before I canceled Bing on.
The latest update seems to have fixed this
I think it has something to do with the updated modem, prior to update I was getting 7 -12 MB download at home, now back to normal 25-30mb.
And when i tried to play gta san andreas in full resolution break the game. Anyone?
I think the issue here might have something to do with ram management. It happened to me 3 times already. And even after the resent update it did it again! Hopefully there's a fix for this soon.
