^^^ What he said
There's nothing much in that CAB as far as registry settings go - the only difference is that your CAB file sets "A-GPS" to be ON, which is generally not a good idea on Kaisers (it's set to OFF on my Touch PRO too and the rest of the setttings are the same as in the CAB file ).....presumably the same is true on a Diamond?
Easiest thing to do is to search for, download, install and run "Schaps Advanced Configuration" (latest version is 3.2) - one of the options in there is to disable "A-GPS" - disable it and soft reset your device when prompted....when your Diamond (?) has restarted, run the QuickGPS program in Start | Programs, then try TT7 again.
Hope that gets your Tomtom going again.
Mark.

thxs both, i'll try and hope it'll fix it!
anyway i hva a touch diamond with rom "DIAMOND PROJECT ROM Release V3.3" from tom_codon
thx again! A lot!

ok i changed some settings and disabled the A-Gps.
just a question, these settings are regional or universal???:
ServerIP - 10.1.101.63
ServerPort - 7275
cause i come from italy
Any suggestion?

Hi,
How do I find the Operator number? I am using Cingular Service.
thanks
tee
1. Run Autoconfigurator
or
2. find key DetectNet or NetworkID in HKCU/AutoConfig/Network
What you mean by create string XPath ... and how to do it.
first of all, install regedit, or resco explorer with regedit plugin.
2. go to HKCU/AutoConfig/Network,
3. create string with name "XPath" and with value operator №
kropotov,
Forgive me as I am pretty new at reg edits. If my operator number is 302720 can you please tell me exactly what I need to type into the spaces.
When I select new string I get value name with New Value %1 already in the box below it and also Value data with nothing in the box below it.
Value name:
New Value #1
Value data:
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thanks

Oh, it work for me too. Thanks. It took me 4 months to find out the simple way to sovle it !!!

iPAQ hw6945 need reg entries - accidently deleted!

I have two problems and after searching for days I still can not find anything, so I was hoping that I could get someone that has an iPAQ hw6945 to please go to the following registry keys and tell me what entries are in your registry. Thanking you in advance for your help.
1. Can no longer see battery status (current or hidden) because I accidently erased something, & have pin pointed it out to these two entries.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BatteryIF
"Index"=dword:
"Order"=dword:
2. Just curious if anyone else has entries or just blank like mine.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Global Locate\Gpsct\3rdPartyCleaner
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Global Locate\Gpsct\BackDoor
Here is what I have on my 6955:
BatteryIF
Dll = Battery.Dll (string)
Index = 2 (dword)
Order = 0 (dword)
Prefix = BAT (string)
The Global locate entries you have listed are also empty on my 6955.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks mdelleman for your response. I will try these, keep your fingers crossed. I appreciate your help!

Hi,
You can't just add these values. You'll need to run the calibration in your Settings | Screen
Dirk
Tks Dirk for reply, but i can not get passed the calibration screen on my iPaq, i don't know why, so i skipped this process by deleting welcome.exe...and i think that with this values, i can fix those alignment problems.

[ROM] [HP iPAQ 900c] [WWE] WM6.5 build 21500

Download 910c_21500_v1_3.zip here.
Disclaimer: I am a n00b at cooking, so be careful and assume nothing. Flashing your device is dangerous - if you screw something up, sometimes there are recovery methods if you search for them. I take no responsibility and am not going to bother labelling this "beta" since i think pretty much everything you get from xda-devs is beta :d
Instructions for flashing:
1. Get a microsd card sized 2 gb or lower (sdhc won't work) and format it with regular fat filesystem. Copy my flash.dio to the root of the card. Insert card into your device.
2. Put your device into sdloader mode by holding volup+ok(button on right side) and pressing reset. Make sure your battery has a decent charge (over 50%) and isn't connected to any usb charge or sync cable (or else your device will just go into ruu mode).
3. Watch the magic... Sdloader will check the file integrity, flash to your device rom, do a clean reboot (can take a minute longer than usual) and then go into the "welcome to windows mobile, tap here to continue" stuff.
Rom ported from build 21202 xip and qvga sys sources posted by Da_G, dsi76 and others at ppcgeeks
using reference port, kitchen tools and mucho technical assistance from keyx
v1.3 release notes:
- new build! big debate about whether or not it is fake; very similar to 21202 but reportedly faster because some debug code has been removed
- Google Latitude login bug fixed - either by this build or the new version of Google Maps Mobile (lol)
- may take a bit longer on first boot. let it beep once, then it will fall asleep. count to 10, then press power button to wake the device back up. you should get second beep and calibration screen pretty quick after that
- ADC, Enterprise and IPSECVPN sys packages removed
- Adobe Flash and NumberBattery included as always
v1.2 release notes:
- earlier bugs with theme, start menu and sms messaging are fixed
- this build includes wmwidgets but i have removed things like enterprise features and adc (which doesn't appear to work)
- many unnecessary (imho) ipaq startup shortcuts have been moved to \windows\startup_old
- go start - settings - connections - hp ipaq dataconnect and manually choose your country and carrier in order to get gprs data properly configured (auto-config seems broken by wm6.5)
Flash it, test it out, report bugs, much appreciated.
If you like this rom, please consider a donation to keyx because of all the time he has spent answering my n00b cooking questions.[/quote]

possible way to solve bugs:
1. initflashfiles.dat have some reference to hp.tsk, Also the rgu file in oemapp/oemlang may have registry reference (i think it is the reg that set the theme in today) to the theme, you should remove those including the color setting so the theme specified in base_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320/mxipcold_wpc_2.provxml would be used instead
2. i never have this problem...did you replace the phone.dll and ril.dll? May be you need to replace more files but i have no ideas. What error did you get?
3. you can change to 4 columns by modifying StartMenu_GridScene_320x240.cpr in Base_Lang_0409_DPI_96_RESH_240_RESV_320, there is a Columns attribute in the gridview (I think you can test that out by finding the cpr file in your deivce windows directory and modify it directly to see the result)

RE #1: yeah, haha, just figured that out by full-text searching all the OEM rgu files for HP.tsk
RE #2: ppcgeeks says that this is actually a webview.dll problem in SYS\BROWSING package, so I'm throwing in the working one from 21198 and testing it out.
RE #3: yeah, already grabbed the CPRs that worked from 21198 and that fixes it.

So it would seem that messing with the OEM rgu is screwing EVERYTHING up. As in, Confetti homescreen is broken if I mess with it at all. I have not yet acquired that level of jedi power, I guess
Expect further delays.
I thought you only have to remove these lines in the rgu file in OEMApps to get rid of the hp theme by default

I'm having trouble with secure login features in two apps: Google Maps (signing into Google Latitude service) and System SEVEN beta (signing into any accounts at all).
I'm suspicious that this might be due to having removed the Enterprise and IPSEC packages, so I'll likely be posting an updated v1.2 with those fit back in. Had to sacrifice VoiceCommander and the designer themes to make it fit though... this ROM is at-capacity
In the future I'll probably take out other OEM packages - like HP PhotoSmart and PrintSmart - and replace them with more useful utilities. Suggestions are welcome on this thread...
GREAT... GREAT WORKS!!!!! Very good rom, very fast!!!!
The GPS satellites takes faster.
You can edit the plugin today?

i guess he want to edit titanium, you can try titanium customizer, or you would have to edit the reg key yourself

hi
i am newbie in the registry editor, how can i apply this?
HummerHX: You can also use Advanced Config Tool. Then you will need no experience with registry changes. But use it at your own risk.

changing default keyboard

Hi,
Everytime I soft reset my HD I have the same crappy WM6.1 keyboard as the default one, is there a way to make Fingerboard2 load automatically upon startup?
Thnx
What you need is a program called SIP Change. Do a search for it here in the forums and that does the trick. I have fingerkeyboard as default on my HD
Here is a link to the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008
Click the link at the bottom of the first post
Or for your convienience
thnx! ill give it a shot
Just so you know; I installed SIP Change but it seemed to cause errors with GWES.EXE on every soft reset. Finally I restored back to pre-SIPchange and the gwes problems haven't reoccurred.
Which delay did you enter in SIP Change?
40 or 50 is recommended.
I don't remember what values I used, but I do recall different delays all causing the same error.
I'm thinking now that perhaps it was caused by me not being quick enough entering the PIN-code for my SIM-card and therefor exceeding the set delay? Maybe I'll give it another try and play around a bit more with the delay.
I try "60" is O.K. Or any?
I have the same issue,
I tried 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and still not solved

I removed Sipchange and tried the solution based on stilus in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514960
This solution will really change the imput method according to stilus position but the first time I open the message tool the keybord is still the standard one...
this solution works:
install mortscript
create a script-file in \Windows\Start Up\<any name>.mscr
add this line to your script:
Code:
SetInput("name_of_keyboard")
exact name_of_keyboard can be found under
settings -> personal -> input -> input method
Hi,
I have installed Mortscript and created a file TouchPal.mscr with
SetInput ("TouchPal")
but the problem still remains: the 1st time I want to write the keyboard is still the standard one.
In my Start up I have:
AutoShortcut
CWTimeOut
GAlarm Reload
iLock2
PKG
poulook
sdim
SipInst
TPStartup.exe
TouchPal.mscr
Any conflict?

have you uninstalled sipchange.cab?
it seems that sipinst and tpstartup.exe cause the conflict.
set input to any other than touchpal, then run the script manually - what happens?
if you remove sipinst, tpstartup.exe and touchpal.mscr, then reboot, does the touchpal keyoard still work?
if yes copy touchpal.mscr back to start up folder and rename to z_touchpal.mscr to make sure it is loaded as last app.
if no check out which file (sipinst or tpstartup.exe) you really need.
Hi,
Thanks for your help Egoist6.
I tried to remove sipinst, tpstartup.exe and touchpal.mscr then a rebooted and write a message, the keyboard is standard one but if I change to TouPal it will change and work.
I tried to run touchpal.mscr manualy and it changes the keyboard to TouchPal.
I then copied touchpal.mscr back to start up folder and renamed to z_touchpal.mscr, then rebooted but the keyboard is still the standard one
I'm lost ...
could you add
Code:
Message("Script Executed")
to the script (last line) just to check if it is executed properly.
reset.
do you get a popup window during startup?
another idea. add this as the first line. it will wait 5sec before the sip is set
Code:
Sleep(5000)
SIPchange problem
Sipchange changes the keyboard for me at boot, but then crashes instead of closing. So I get the annpying white screen asking to sond information to microsoft. This happens regardless the delay time (tried several values). Any idea?
thanks

Dear egoist6,
your script worked for me, thanks. But I had to increase the delay to 70000 (70 seconds), otherwise no success! So I use:
Code:
Sleep(70000)
SetInput("name_of_keyboard")
Thanks very much for your help!
