Can this happen on my great diamond???
the Idea is that can an application been added to let me dial using my voice by numbers:
for example:
- to dial: 009613454666
I talk to my phone and it dials ( Zero, Zero, nine, six, one, three, four, five, four, six, six, six)

Is it possible to use voice dialing? It would help with this problem of having to open the case to use the phone if I could set it to use voice commands. I see someone has referred to voice commands on the xda 1, but I can't find it in the help file, even though this is quite a standard facility on ordinary mobile phones.

Here it is for you:
http://microsoft.handango.com/Platf...30&productType=2&platformId=2&productId=90635
I am using it, and I love it.
but it cost money
there are a great many features that normal cellphones support that xda's dont
i suppose this is because as i see it the xda is a pda with cellphone not a cellphone with pda
not sure of smartphones are closer to cellphones optionwise but would suspect that they are
you are correct - it is a PDA with cell phone functionality... but it is worth it...
In regards to the MS Voice Dialing - one of the pluses - you do not have to do "tagging" - it will recognize the name from the Contacts... another very good feature - you can actually dial the number (like DIAL 5551212) and it will dial for you.
.... not if you are in UK (Amazingly) Windows 2003 does not support telephone numbers beginning with 0. Wouldn't you have thought that Bill would have at least spared a thought for us 52million citizens?

Can you explain further what you mean by this.
Quote from Microsoft Voice Command User's Guide
"International dialing formats (or dialiing any number starting with a 0 (zero)) are not supported; to dial an unsupported number format, you can create a contact with the number and then call that contact)"
Also voice command seems only to accept 7 digit or 10 digit numbers. They say that it will accept a 1+10-digit number, but what I think they mean by this is the numeral 1 at the begining. So most UK mobile (actually you have to say 'moble' for the lady to recognise it) numbers are too long as are all the landline numbers.

I've just installed FONIX VOICE DIAL into the XDA II and it works flawlessly!
It doesn't tell you what meetings you have next or launch applications (ala MS Voice Command) but I don't need all that. All I wanted was a voice dialer for when I'm driving and this software does it perfectly.
Voice Dialing can be done either by referencing your contact list "Call Adam Smith mobile" or you can use "Dial 001160343437656". No training is required but you can fine tune the voice recognition (haven't tried this yet).
Highly recommended.

Have you tried neuvoice navigator.
Supposed to work well in noisy environments, but does require voice tag setup.

only $9.99
Fonix flop
Bought and installed Fonix and dumped off MS Voice Commander, but Fonix is MUCH worse. I ended up shouting at the nice man inside my XDA2

Hi, I've tried searching the forums, but i'm having no luck. I recently got the T-Mobile MDA (great phone, btw), and I was wondering if anyone can advise on how to enter numbers into your contacts, so that you can include a persons extension. This is a feature that I would like to know so that I can call friends and family at their work numbers, where I would have to call the company number, wait for the automated receptionist, and then dial the person's extension.
I use to be able to do this with a Samsung phone that I had for Verizon using a "p" pause feature, which would wait an additional 2 seconds per "p", followed by entering the persons extension. (ie, if you were to enter "(123) 456-789 ppppp 12345", the phone would dial (123) 456-789, wait 10 seconds (5p's = 5 x 2 seconds), then dial 12345.
if the above explanation was confusing, maybe you can check the info from samsumg's site at
http://erms.samsungusa.com/customer...D=557&PROD_SUB_ID=561&PROD_ID=613&AT_ID=24794
it gives an explanation of this "p" pause feature (not my previous phone, but still same feature).
overall, this would make my life easier when i use voice dialing, so that when i'm driving and want to call someone, i don't have to look down at my phone bad and try to touch the numbers (which are a bit inconvenient on the MDA), for the person's extension.
thanks for any advise you can offer.
Use a comma instead of "p"
i.e.
123 456-7899 ,,,,, 12345
thanks lotech, it worked. this will definitely save me from getting into a car accident.
Free program download
Hi there,
I have used this little gem of a program, it allows you to add numbers before and after the number you wish to dial. Very useful if you have a cheap international call contract from your mobile i.e. you have to dial a landline number which connects you. Hope this is of use to you all. keep up the good work site, Cheers.

Am Looking for a phone program that will let me use my blue tooth headset to not only dial the phone (using contacts) via voice command but also to let me have it key in numbers during a call
for example I am on a call and have to press say a code in or a series of numbers then I can simply say the numbers
is there such a thing...?
The Palm OS speed dial has the option for additional numbers, including a spacer, # etc..
An ideal scenario: Dial a 800 number for a conference call, and when prompted, press a button or link that punches in a pre-programmed conference code number along with any required # keys. In the Palm OS, the second set of numbers (conference code) are stored as part of the additional number section of the speed dial.
Is there a similar option in WM6 on the Titan? I have tried to query on like terms on this and other sites, and have yet to come up with a valid post.
Thanks in advance.
I've been able to enter "p" for pause...think it waits about 1 second per "p". I am also curious what others know about this because I would prefer to use a command that waits until connection before entering. I use this primarily to dial extensions.
Example dials the number, waits about 4 seconds and then dials whatever follows the "p's":
555-5555pppp5
Im not a developer, only here to point out couple of things:
1. speed dial is replaced with 'favorites' and shortcuts to direct dial? I'm running a rooted 1.6 on HTC Mytouch 3g and there is still no sign of built in speed dial in sight
2. My bluetooth headset BlueAnt has built in voice commands for speed dial "dial speeddial 1" dials voicemail no problem, appears to be hardcoded by HTC.. but saying a command 'speeddial 3' for example would dial the 3rd entry from the call log - hence goodbye the ability to dial a saved preset # without having to reach for the phone, unlocking the screen, changing the other desktop with speeddial shortcuts etc... so much for effiency
Funny thing that feature works on any other phone with built in bluetooth: nokias, blackberries etc... Hope you guys don't let Google skip adding traditional phone features:
* hope somebody adds a setting to the dialer so users can choose the dialer to popup instead of the call log when pressing a 'call' button.
Simple things make the life enjoyable
As this is a touch-screen phone... you must remember that all features that once used hard-buttons are being phased out by: voice dial, direct dial shortcuts, contact photo shortcuts, etc. You'll find that the quick-search is a one-stop access to most anything with your voice.
Why the Blue-Ant headset wouldn't access these the same way as any other bluetooth headset is beyond me.
