Hi , I would like to know if anybody figured out when sending an email or SMS how to go from "To:" to the actual message you will type without touching the screen ?
The Tab key didn't work for me .
Doesn't the down arrow do it? Works for me.
V
Both Tab and the Down arrow work for me. Just tried.
Press Message button to go to Pocket Outlook.
Tap LHS soft key to select New
Type first few letters of contact's name.
When number is suggested, press down arrow to select number.
Press Enter to fill in the number.
Press Tab to move to message area.
Type message
nope it doesn't on my xda exec, if I press the down arrow, the scroll bar will go down but the cursor is still on the "to:"
I dont' have a scrollbar anywhere on the New Message screen. I'm running in VGA landscape mode though. Maybe that's the difference.
Doesn't Tab work?
nope the tab + down key didn't work, it will go down on the scroll bar but the cursor will still be on on the "to:"
You said you were on VGA landscape mode, is it with ozvga ? or did you have asetting on the phone itself ?

Yeah - it's OzVGA.
Man, it would be really annoying if I had to use the stylus to create SMS. This is the biggest benefit for me: Doing (almost) everything in the system using only the keyboard. I hope you find a solution soon.
yeah, I just have to use my dirty fingers to put the cursor in the right place :?
One quick question, I have some app like wisbar/ netfront 3.3 in VGA already, if I install ozvga will it miss it up or they will still look the same ?
Or maybe there is only one way to find out.... :wink:
If you're using WA2 with OzVGA, you'll have to switch to a QVGA version of your Wisbar theme, otherwise it'll all go very weird. Not too much of a problem though, it just takes up a bit more space in your Themes folder having two versions of the same theme, and you need to switch them manually in WA2 when you switch resolutions.
This is because the system uses 96dpi (QVGA) icons, toolbars, fonts, etc, etc when running OzVGA.
thanks, I'll have a go.
still playing with it, just wait on an update so the phone can have a decent response time, miss my xdaIIs for that but, it is another subject 8)
Still love it BTW!
jeux_1, i have the same exact issue. It was driving my pretty crazy, but it helps to know someone else has this issue. Have you found a fix?
For the last three weeks, I was using the keyboard to write SMS, and my TAB key was moving the cursor from 'To' to the body of the message...
And now, suddenly, it does only a scroll down, like the down arrow, but stay in the 'To' field... :?
Any idea :?: it's really annoying....
Does anybody have an idea about that :?:
I think it is a bug for the O2 EXEC, my friend have an Orange one and work works fine.
I don't think there is a solution and it is a bug on the O2 one. Any of you guys can confirm ?
There is as well a new guy with a new Rom I will ask him if he has the same issue.
Actually, I use a Qtek 9000, different ROM
And it was working for at least three weeks... and now, it does'nt work anymore... smth changed, but I cannot find out what
here goes my theory..... :?
Ok, I found the solution.... my TAB key works again..
The problem came from Tweaks2k2 .NET, version 3.15... as soon as I apply changes with it, the TAB behavior changes... :evil:
Ok well, my phone has just starting have a problem!
When i press the button to bring up the phone app, and i want to use the down or up button to go down my list it does asbelow:
Up = Speed Dail
Down = Call History
Right = Contacts
Left = Messaging
I am using the Phone app from the WM6 rom by faria
Can anyone help, me work out how come this is doing it now!!! I have not changed anything!!!
It has smartskey installed. That is y it is behaving like this.
This is the function of smartskey, you can remove this setting by editting the smartskey.ini you'll get it in windows folder.

You really should use smartskey, makes the wizard easily 1 hand operable. (if you hold down the right softkey it clicks the top right corner (usually X or OK), or u can hold the left softkey and it clicks the Start) And it was installed in the WM6.0 cooked rom by faria.

Hey.
Here is the way to change the homekeys IN TFLO 3D.
In a registry editor, go to:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
Here is:
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
Changing the boot picture/sound:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation (startup animation)
and
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Splash Screen (The green WM 6.1 logo)

Nice tip - thanks.
Changed Phone to Camera as I find it a pain in the ass to get the camera up and running quickly! Who needs Phone - as pressing the Call key does the same thing.

Nice thought! I was thinking the same as well, or the other alternative is to activate/deactivate Bluetooth but does anybody know the string to Enable Bluetooth?
Thanks in advance!
Just wondering - why use registry when you have that option in Preferences?
"Changing the boot picture/sound:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation (startup animation)
and
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Splash Screen (The green WM 6.1 logo)"
So i tried it i just changed the path to another image (jpg) in the internal storage. I got a blank screen.
So does the image you choose have to been in the device?
Does it have to be .png?
If so whats the file path to the device.
Thanks very much or maybe im doing it all wrong you tell me please.
Cheers! thanks!

\Windows\CommManager.exe brings up the Comm Manager, IMO even more useful.
I would love to see configuration of long press of other keys than End Call, though.

I did nothing there. I`ve searched everywhere
Ignore this. I take it Sry means "sorry" not wrongly typed "Try". If you know what I`m going on about.
Please teach me dude how do you make it to boot your own image. Ive changed the image path but still nothing.
Thanks!
Hi.
I have changed the text on the right button. I want the right button to "link" to my contacts, but I cannot find out what the contacts are called on the Diamond?

Yo dude. I just checked it out.
Try: Start>settings>buttons
However, there is only 1 button that you can set (or maybe that what i know),
from the drop down menu, choose "camera". Viola!
Thru trial and error, i found out that the Button 1 is actually the call button.
Which means: press it once to go into phone mode, long press (hold) to activate camera. Hope that helps.

Yeah sussed that out thanks. I was really looking to be able to just have a quick button press that turns bluetooth on and off just like my Nokia N80 does. I found it very handy

Hi guys, I have had the orbit 2 and orbit, now I have just got my hands on the Agnito (HTC Diamond. only thing im abit annoyed with is the lock system. Im unable to put the lock on. Can someone help me please. Also is there is a simple tool I could install.
There a plenty of locking programs, just have a browse through this forum.
If you are happy with the standard Windows lock then it's easiest to use a program called Long Press End Key. The program may already be installed on your diamond, try holding 'End Call' for 3 seconds or look in your settings folder.
If you set Long Press Endkey to always lock without asking then you can lock the phone by simply creating a shortcut to Windows\Endkey.exe - I have this program mapped to my left softkey.
Thanks dave,
I never realised that was there...that was my bad...do you remember the HTC weather home, on the orbit 2, is there something similer to that for the Agnito
How can i map that to the soft key?

It's freeware dude. It's posted on here somewhere also as a .cab.
@R.A.G.S - Read the rules dude. Have a search and browse before straight up opening a new thread. There are a multitude of locking programs on here: StylusLock, TouchLockPro, Long Press End Key (default), SensorLock and Pocket Shield (not free) just to name a few.

Comedy!
On the full qwerty, only $ is mapped as a long press (f key in this case), to get the £ sign not only do you need to switch to the "numeric and symbols" keyboard, but you also need to go to the second page - is there any way at all to replace $ on the main keyboard with £?

+1 from another UK user!
Glad to see it's not only me that's irritated by it A "long press and slide" to select, like for accented letters (so you could also have the euro and yen symbols along) would be soooo nice
