Has anyone managed to get their HTC S710 to work as a modem for a TomTom 930 Go via Bluetooth? I've installed DUN on my device (which was removed in WM6) and now the TomTom recognises my phone as a modem. However, the following configuration doesn't seem to work with the HTC, although it does on other phones.
Access point name: btmobile.bt.com
User name: bt
Password: [none] or bt
IP address: 212.183.137.12
DNS Server: Automatic
Dial: *99#
Login script: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","btmobile.bt.com"

well, i am still looking for an answer to my problem, maybe here i will find it...
i have the San Disk WIFI SD card for my I mate.
i have downloaded the driver of Socket, but still, i can connect to the hotspot but i cannot use the web.
because i am not an expert in WIFI i have asked one's opinion.
he asked me to check some details (i am enclosing them here).
he told me that my problem is not with my wifi card or in the network.
he told me that from unknown reason, i don't get an IP address.

I have also had this problem with my Socket wifi card on my XDAII using the latest version of the socket driver. I have had to revert to version of the Socket driver (142D) because of this problem. Version 142D works fine, but doesn't have such a fancy interface as the new version!
If you need a copy of this driver, PM me.
Paul
It didn't help
Hi,
well i have tried the old version, but nothing.
i still cannot obtain ip.

I Have had the same problem and gave my M1000 a fixt IP adres yours should be something like 192.168.1.12 or at least something else as what your pc has further I always setup the nameservers you can find them to type in a dosbox ipconfig/all the DNS servers there you have to steup in the configuration of the networkcard from your phone , which can be found at settings /connextions/networkadapters there you will find the Sandiskcard just click on it and the settings for it will apear.
Now you should have connextion then still your PDA don't now that it has to use the networkadapter to get a connextion so you have to tell it to him at conections/settings/select network and there select twice work Network, this is only for your internetconnextion true your browser but email needs a other setting which you can find at your email client/tools/options/accounts/your emailaccount/next/next/next/options/there you selct work network/next finnish and now you should have full internetacces with your phone true your accespoint, if you want to use your phone to get your email just change the settings from work to providor internet, it seems to be a little complcated but it gives me at least a verry stabele internetconnection
Sucses with it

I get that message when im too far from the hotspot
I know it sounds daft but I have my company Orange SIM in my XDA2 and I am not allowed GPRS!!!
I still need GPRS though so want to try and set it up to dial via bluetooth and my Moto V3 which does have GPRS access.
The V3 works as a GRPS modem to my PC so I thought it should work.
But when I set up a BT network connection on the XDA it won't connect. It does try and the V3 does connect to GPRS but then I get a message saying
"The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings"
The settings I have used are:
Connection Name: Orange GPRS
Modem: Bluetooth
Bluetooth Device: My V3
Number to Dial: *99***3# (this is what my PC uses, also tried *99#)
User: <none>
Password: <none>
Domain: <none> (although I have tried putting the apn orangeinternet)
Advanced settings all as default except DNS
Server1: 158.43.192.1
Server2: 158.43.128.1
It seems the only thing I have on my PC that I can't configure on the XDA is the apn.
Any ideas very gratefully received.
Did you get this to work, as i have a XDA2i that works fine, but i also have a nokia 6630 on orange with a orange try plan giveing me 1GB of data per month. i am useing the 6630 as a bluetooth modem for my laptop, but i would like use my XDA with the nokia as a modem
but the bluetooth ion the xda says the 6630 only offer obex no the option to connect to a phone
Thanks
John
All ISPs in my country provide me some parameters for GPRS conecting. They are:
- APN
- username
- password
- IP as Gateway (GGSN, I think)
One of my ISPs config system with GGSN is automatic, I don't need setup the IP, Gateway or Proxy. So, I connect to the Internet OK.
Other ISP provides Proxy Server with port. Then I connect to Internet OK, too.
But one of my ISPs, config GGSN manualy (I think). I setup my mobilephone (as smatphone with Symbian OS) OK, but I can't setup my XDA II mini. Connection is connected but I can't access to Internet. I don't know how to use the IP (which provied by my ISP).
Can anyone help me. Pls
Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
H6365 connects to internet ok with my SIM
I just got a new unlocked T-mobile branded JasJar this morning, and when i inserted the SIM card (US t-Mobile Voice and GPRS) the GPRS settings were blank. now, i've used this SIM in a pocketpc phone edition, and a smartphone - and i never had to set trhe GPRS settings they were setup by the SIM. also i have used the smartphone as a bluetooth modem with an iPAQ and all i had to set on the iPAQ was the APN (internet2.voicestream.com). unfortunately the same doesn't seem to work with the JasJar. i configured a GPRS setting, and set rhe APN to internet2.voicestream, left the user/password blank like other instances; but it didn't work
i've searched for the info, but all i find is U.K t-mobile settings. and it seems to be a JasJar specific problem since i have't had it on other devices. the lack of posts suggest i'm doing something stupid... but i don't know what it is
Any help appreciated!
Thanks!
Sky
ok i was being a bonehead i used the WORK connection instead of the internet connection.
Thanks!

I have got an MDA (HTC HERM300) running PocketPC (Windows Mobile Version
5.0)
When I installed it first it worked for a view days, but stopped working again.
I tried a factory reset also and reconfigured the InstantMail service
bb config:
BB PIN: 6647E803, IMEI: 0000000000, IP Address: 0.0.0.0
Service: connected
Services: Blackberry[ALP], Blackberry[CMIME] --> both ticked green
Rule: last refresh: 31.10.06 19:50, Name: Default Options: Connection: Blackberry Solution
Details: APN: blackberry.net, User: rim, password: password, IP: 0.0.0.0, remote port: 19781, local port: 19780Each time the system connects I get a system message: Your BalckBerry has been registered with your provider.
So far everything looks fine but when I try to send emails messages are marked with a red "x" next to the message and I dont receive any emails.
Every help is very much appreciated
Kind regards
Markus
Sounds like something on the BES or BIS is preventing you from sending BB emails. I would make sure nothing changed on your account. You obviously will need the BB Plan and registered on the BES/BIS server.
