Hi,
I have a T-Mobile Touch Plus. i would like to change the date format on the today screen so that it displays the day of the week. currently it only displays: 01 October 2008 I would like it to display: Wednesday 01 October 2008
I don't see any option to enable this. i have checked under Settings\Regional Settings\Date Tab the only options i have under the Long date option is: dd MMMM yyyy and d MMMM yyyy is there any way to enable the day of the week?
thanks.

reading many posts on how to enable date and time in the start bar, i found that performing a modification in the registry in this way:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftShell
Create a new binary value named “TBOpt” and set it to “13 00 00 00
you get dat and time in the start bar but part of the date is covered by the "OK" button ( or by "not ok" that is a x) so you can read for example
28/10/0
12:54
instead of
28/10/05
12:54
Is it possible to move slightly on the left the date/time icon ?
or is it possible to change the place of date/time icon with another icon (volume icon for ex.)?
read posts of reg hacks - this hack explained along with how to chaqnge date format to dd/mm with trailing spaces to address cover-up problem
Here's the directions from the wiki...
Set short date format to something other than the limited list provided under settings>regional
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides "SSDte"="d.M "
This gives 1-10 format with a space behind so that date is not cut off by OK button
Since I live in the US I set mine to "MMM d " to give me a date such as "Oct 28 "

thanks brett, couldn't remember where I had posted it.
Just got my Qtek 9100 today and I tried to tweak the date/time display on the top right corner of the display, ie. go to shell and create binary value TBOpt 13 00 00 00. And unfortunately... the time is fine, but the date is in BOLD format, so I couldn't see the year. That is, it looks like this:
25/11/0
18:05
-> only 0 in year part, 5 is missing. Any1 how to do it properly? Pls show me. thnx ^^
I've been searching for 2 days, but nothing so far. I think Universal users have this problem too.
spb pocket pc tips & tricks
Have you guys tried spb pocket pc tips & tricks? This will perform this tweak for you, although the value mentioned TBOpt 13 00 00 00 is the same on my magician.
I deleted the key TBOpt from HKLM/software/msft/shell, and the time is still there in bold.
I tried tweaking with battery pack pro, but they only add the 13 00 00 00 value into the TBOpt registry.
I haven't seen a fix for the bold font yet. I tried the Universal registry tweak, which allowed me to change the date to a M/DD format that was not on the regional settings list.
The problem is it also made the OK button go away. Made it a bit difficult to close my programs, so back to the bold.
for those interested in having their Today screen display the date and time on a single line, read below.
To put the date on a single line on the today screen
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today
add dword: AutoSingleLineDatePlugin
set value to: 00000001
To replace the long date format with a short date format
HKLM\nls\Overrides
add/edit string SLDte
set value to: dddd dd/MM/yy
no one thread that i could find on xda had this information... cheers
How can change Date display format from default [Sep 16, 2009] to [Wed, Sep 2] as pictures attached? registry tweak?
Indeed make some changes in registry......see this link with all options...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375288.....
Have fun....
Tried but no luck.
I think it could be related to TouchFlo Manila 2d setting, instead of changing system time format in nls folders.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA2D\..... <---could be here? just dunno which
Did you do soft reset after changing the registry changes.....?
...........
Just tried my self......and made some changes....due to all rom flashing forgot to adapt myself.....
Go to HKLM\nls\overrides.....and change SSDte according instructions and your taste...
doesn't work
wish it could show day follow by month & date. e.g. (Wed, Sep 2) as picture attached herein.
I used as example: ddd-MMM-dd ......Tue-Febr-23.
Homepage for Manila to be touch register. If you do not have it create the value manually:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila2d\Home]
"CustomerTimeFormat"=dword:2
2 - short date format
3 - long date format
View of the short format is set here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides]
"SSDte"=M / d / yy
________________________________________________________
d - Single digit date no leading 0 (7/3/07)
dd - date with leading 0 (09/03/07)
ddd - Day name Short (Mon)
dddd - Day name long (Monday)
M - single digit month (7/3/07)
MM - Month with leading 0 (09/03/07)

MMMM - Long month name (March)
y - Short year (7/3/7)
yy - Short year with leading 0 (7/3/07)

Hello guys, it seems that I am doing something wrong. Following on the instructions I could not reformat the date. Currently I do not have the "CustomerTimeFormat" in my registry. How do I create it - as key, dword or string? I am using SKTools Registry Explorer. 10x in advance.

i just got the right display on the home screen, only it displays the day twice...
it displays like this on the home screen:
Monday__________________03:00 pm
Mo 16 august 2010
now how do i remove the day display in front of the time and put the full date there so it gives me:
Mo 16 august 2010________03:00 pm
Thanks for solution....it was great....
I made a widget, just a icon sized one, that I want to just show the day of the month date, for example today is April 25th so I want it to just show the number "25" on the widget.
Here's my code
DateFormat format = SimpleDateFormat.getDateInstance( SimpleDateFormat.WEEK_OF_MONTH_FIELD, Locale.getDefault() );
I've tried just about all the different settings where WEEK_OF_MONTH_FIELD, but I can't get just the day number to show up. It always shows like April 25 or something.
Try this:
PHP:
Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
int dayOfMonth = calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_MONTH);
Log.d("whats the day mr wolf", " " + dayOfMonth);
