[Q]Wallpaper Resizer? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Is there anyway or any apps out there to enable you to resize your wall paper on the phone? Like say i have a regular desktop wallpaper, is there an app where i could asign that pic to the home screen and be able to freely choose which part of the background i want?

other ways to change home wallpaper?

Hi all,
I was thinking how would be nice if someone could add a menu option for viewing pictures - use as touchflo3D background ( or maybe some picture viewer app which can do this ). Because always when you want to change the background you must slide across the screen to settings tab, select the wallpaper option, click on no ( no default wallpaper ), choose the folder and finally found a picture what you want in that so small thumbnails, click on it and go to the home tab to see how it looks like. But specially in the women pictures you find out (after this ridiculously long procedure) that she has a clock across the face xD.
Correct me if I am wrong. The app with the thumbnails is htc album right? Why there is no possibility to see the image in fullscreen before you select it as wallpaper (as it is in htc album tab) ???
this is so annoying for me, what do you think?

HDWall-type program for non-Manila TP2?

I'm using Energy's Titanium only ROM and am going crazy trying to figure out how to change the landscape wallpaper which is displayed when the keyboard is open.
When I had Manila installed, I would use HDWall with excellent results but am wondering if there is a similar program for automatic cropping/resizing which saves the files as an image format rather than the Manila files as I am using the Titanium plugin.
Any ideas?
Wow.
Does anybody at least know how to change the landscape wallpaper when you're not using TF3D?

From the home page: Windows> Settings> Today. You should now have the list of available themes in front of you. Towards the bottom of the screen there should a tick box and some writing (Use this picture as the background). Use the browse tab to select your wallpaer location and tick the box. It might still leave the themed curtains at the top and bottom of the screen though.

Question About Homescreen

How do I set an image as my background from my home screen that is not animated or weather? Those are the only two options but I want to use a "normal" picture.

Use the weather and select from album. You can also disable the weather animation.
I feel sooo dumb. Mods can close the thread, thanks.

Big image on homescreen

Hi!
I am trying to make my first custom homescreen and ran into some difficulties:
I would like to have a big image on my screen, working as 2 shortcuts:
I would like that if i click the left part of the image one app is launched, but when i click the right part another app is launched.
But the image should be displayed without a gap. I thought that Desktop Visualizer could do the job, but there is allways a gap.
Is there an a app, which allows me to do so???
(I use Launcher Pro and set the rows & colums to 5, because that way there is more space But this shouldnt matter... )

Add the "big icon" using DV - Don't assign any app to it, leave it blank.
Add a transparent icon using DV - Assign the first app.
Add another transparent icon using DV - Assign the second app.
.. Yeah. Then use LauncherPro to resize the blank shortcuts to fit the big icon nicely.
Thanks for the tip, it might come in handy.

Thanks for the answer! But I cant figure out how to do this:
I can add the big image. And I also added to transparent images with DV. But I cant move the transparent images over the big image. This doesnt seem to be possible?!???

Tip: How to make standard desktop look like Metro desktop for consistent UI

Here is something I came up with:
Let's say you pin calculator or notepad to Metro desktop and you click on it to launch it. The app launches but with the standard desktop screen/wallpaper in the background which kind of spoils the whole new Metro look interface. Here is a way to get around that...
1. Press the 'printscreen' key on you keyboard to take an invisible screen capture of your Metro desktop.
2. Open 'Paint' application and press paste to paste your screenshot.
3. Save the screenshot to one of your folders.
4. Quit to standard desktop (not Metro) and right click on screen to Personalize and assign the screenshot as your desktop wallpaper.
From now on, everytime you launch a non Metro app, it will open up on what appears to be your Metro desktop, when in fact it is a fake Metro desktop. At least the transition between Metro and standard desktops is unified.
For the artistic ones, blur your screenshot using Photoshop or similar, before applying it as your wallpaper. Now when you launch an application like calculator or any other window app, the 'Metro' background will be out of focus and the opened windows app will be in focus. An artistic alternative
While this is an epic idea, I can't do it, because I rearrange the metro icons a LOT. But I do love the idea, and I'm sure it'll work great for a lot of people.
Thank you! I guess you could do it once you have installed all the apps you want and finally satisfied with the layout ;-)
