Lower task bar

I want to remove the battery8 icon and connection manager from the lower taskbar so did a search and came up with this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46713&highlight=remove+system+tray
which pointed me to this wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry
"Remove Icons from the Taskbar

HKLM\services\power\?ShowIcon === change from 1 to 0 (zero).
To Remove Screen Rotation:
HKLM\services\screenrotate\?ShowIcon === change from 1 to 0 (zero)
To Remove the Wireless connection manager
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\?WirelessMgr\keep and change the DWORD Keep to 0, soft-reset
If you remove all three icons, taskbar will be removed and more space on today screen."
So I use my trusty total commander, go to HKLM, go to the services directory but then don't see anything resembling ShowIcon or WirelessMgr. What am I missing here?
BTW, I have a Cing 8125 with Summitters 2.3 test2.

Those tweaks are for the universal not the wizard thats why you can't find the keys you want.
To remove the system tray just delete the init_tray.lnk from the windows\startup folder on your device and soft reset.
Mark, if I delete init_tray.lnk, will that let me use the space for the today screen instead, or is it still "reserved"?
Thanks

Yep will give you more space - make a copy of init_tray.lnk so you can put it back in the future if you need.

Oops, I didn't think to make a backup.. i'm sure someone will be able to provide it anyway should I need it in future.
I have a similar question along the same lines... pocket plus doesnt take up the whole today screen, is there a setting somewhere that i've missed, or maybe a regedit where you can specify the height of the today plugin?
Here is the backup file.
Sorry can't comment on pocket plus don't run that - me a much more basic kinda guy

Hi
as already told, you can remove Init_tray.lnk from startup. but be aware - this will make slight problems with software, which places icon in tray (CardExport, Pocket GPS Pro etc).
in addition you could gain more place by eliminating lower bar (with contacts and calender). they will be still accesible through soft-buttons, but will not take place on today screen.
i prefer dciNoBar
http://www.google.ru/search?hl=ru&q=dcinobar&lr=
(sorry, some links are in russian, but i think you will have no problems with finding download link).
if you like the result - you may add this program to startup folder so it will restart automatically after softreset.

Thats cool then if its possible - probably because i still have phm traylaunch and it stays where it normally is and i want it right at the bottom.
To take a screen capture use xnview download here http://forum.xda-developers.com/download.php?id=12698
its under tools\capture - i would be interested to see what setup you have and i will fiddle with mine a bit more - thanks
EDIT fiddled with it and yes - it works!!!! phm traylaunch is right at the bottom now. Nice one mate - cheers! Now I need some new themes - normal ones are not long enough.
EDIT2 can't get traylaunch to stay at the bottom - trying to sort out a workaround!
EDIT3 found a fix to keep phm traylaunch at bottom after softreset - open and shut keyboard and it moves to the bottom - GREAT!! v.v. grateful been looking for something like this for a while!

Thanks for the updated file.
Find enclosed a screen capture program - you can assign to a hard key.
through settings\buttons
Its only drawback is that it saves in bmp format
EDIT version 0.02 does not seem to work so well - on my device - the soft keys often don't seem to work, i only got them to work once - I go back to the other version.
No soft key buttons
I have put dcinobar into a cab for easier installation.
Copy cab onto device, click on cab, install to device and then soft reset.
VJToggleToday
For those using dcinobar - I have tried Vjtoggletoday and would have to say it works better. You can remove soft keys only, soft keys and start bar or startbar only - have it just the way you like it. Does not have the glitch dcinobar has where you need to open and shut the keyboard

Thanks. I've been looking this for a long time.
But tell me, which file i have to change for x button ???
maybe OT, maybe not...
hihihi, i think you may have PROBLEM with that idea..., as you need to edit core dll's, and file may be broken anyway by reshacker/restorator...
i.e. - i am trying to change start menu m$ icon, although it seems to be possible, still no idea, what is wrong with file i am getting after resource exchange(menu(!) icons are changed, gfxes messed up despite of only 1 bitmap change)....
need help with it...
as far i remember file which is keeping many of sys gfx is coredll.dll.0409.mui, or coreres.dll.0409.mui.
"close image" may be there too.
every system image may be changed; although some dlls AREN'T accesible with restorator/reshacker.. ;/
i think you may try to use wisbar advance - it is HEAVY program ,but you may draw light wise skin for x-button(and other icons on taskbar) for it(button may be wider)...this is only thing i could recommend(...but not on omap cpu's lol)...
best effects on wm03 i had with icbar:
(sry i had gif for what i am talkin' about)
you rather cannot make taskbar taller, so wider buttons may be what you need...

Hi,
You may want to look at BatteryStatus plugin as one of the feature is to change the X button size.

you can avoid switching from analog to digital clock if you use a headset ;-)

I've tried it 100 times. It will remove the clock from the top bar on programs, but not from my home screen (Start menu top bar). I used to not be there but it appeared suddenly and I haven't been able to get rid of it since.
I wonder if it's a reg setting?
The EXACT same thing happened to me. I was running Tomtom on my way home and the damn clock showed up on my Taskbar. I can't remove it from my home screen.

How to disable 'Clock & Alarms' screen after clicking clock in HTC Home?

I occasionaly click on the big digital clock on the HTC home by accident, while aiming to click on the e-mail or sms icon. Clicking on the clock opens the 'Clock & Alarms' screen, which I hardly ever use.
Is there a way to disable the opening of 'Clock & Alarms' when clicking on the clock?

Have never seen this pop up on the forums.. sorry.
I've seen once around here somewhere in the Kaiser section someone was able to change a short cut on the home screen (one of the mail buttons), but that was it. If someone could find the reg key for that or whatever controls it youc ould probably disable that clock/alarms link somehow, but i wouldnt know where to start

clicking on clock by accident
+1
Ho yes
mee too ...
I've searched for quite a while to find a solution.
I want to "remap" the click to open galarm for example.
But for now, I think there is no solution.
You can download Manilla 2D Customizer and then disable the alarm status and digital clock in Home tab. There will be no interaction when you press the analog clock in the home screen.
Oops, sorry. Wrong post. Thought that this is related with ROMs with Manilla 2D.
Is it something we could arrange with the SSMaPa soft ?
This soft proposes to replace "Clock clic" and "Alarm clic".... I am sure there is something to do here..
Has anybody already tried ?
Don't think you can change that.
I believe the function is associated with the display and setting of time in windows and not changeable via the interface (Manila 2D for instance).

Yes SSMaPa will do this. You can map the clock to any .exe including GAlarm, GProfile or any other program you wish.
Still does not stop you from accidentally pressing it though.
point it to a phoney exe

But it disables the windows time feature even from system. We dont change the time everyday so its good enough.

You may try Ariel Battery and move the battey icon onto the default one. The battery icon also displays the remaining battery in figure. The icon can be observed when opening any software unlike the default one will not be displayed when opening software.
