[REQ]App to indicate if you have signal or not - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi guys I was thinking if it's possible to create an application to indicate the status of the phone by the led around the zoomwheel. Can somebody do something like that ?

What status??

i don't know how to say it in english
for example....the status if you can or can't know a call you know ?

basically something that indicates whether you have signal or not...previously indentifiable by flashing LEDs (flashing freen for signal, orange for missed call or text, blue for bluetooth etc).
I have to admit that I'm disappointed by the lack of this feature since when my phone is in standby I can't tell whether it's off or if the battery has died and it's REALLY off.

so...it's possible to do ?????

Phone & Bluetooth Indicator lights.... TURN THEM OFF!

Does anybody know of a way to disable the phone and bluetooth indicator lights, but to keep the devices both on?
It's seems like an obvious way to conserve battery power on the XDA II...
Hmmm, I'm not much concerned about the power savings...
But when I go to bed, I put my XDAII on my bedroom table, and especially the bluetooth flashlight resembles a Boeing 747 landing-light.
Seeing the blue flashes on the ceiling always reminds me to turn of BT
don't worry about these two leds, they do not consume an meassurable amount of energy.
Get ride of the callerID stuff, this really saves power..

Really save a lot of power? You sure?
IACallerID is programmed pretty poor, it runs permantaly in the background, generates a lot if events ( at least to first version, I never tried a new release)
I will find several postings in the forum from happy people being rid of it.
And if you don't use it, you can also get ride of it, I always can connect a
name to a picture in my mind ;-)

A small sticker would do the job of covering up the lights.
I'm sure a sticker would do fine......
I don't think that would help conserve the battery though !
No it wouldnt but it would stop the annoying flashing.
The only reason I actually keep caller ID running is because of the ability to increase the font.....to make it clear to view the caller
do you know of any registry settings to change the font on the regular phone pop up? (and in reading and writing SMS , but that's besides the point!!)

Disabling the annoying green-phone-light

Hi there y'all,
my xda neo / Prophet is always blinking green while he has got an telephone-connection with my provider and i hate that blinkin light, especially in my bedroom.
Has anyone got an idea how to disable this? Is there any possibility via Registry?
Thanks for any help!
a piece of black tape perhaps?
Try
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr\Index
change the value to 0

I used LED Toggle which I attached. It works fine.
You do have to watch out though: disconnect your phone from power or your computer before you activate it. Using it once stops the light and using it again turns it back on.
It looks like the effect is gone after a softreset.
And another thing: some hours after using it my phone didn't respond at all for a few minutes. The only solution was a soft reset. This has happened several times now and when I keep the light on it seems to be working normal again. I don't know if it's just my Prophet but if you encounter the same problem we know where it's coming from.

Thanks Jay, your little program works perfect. I'll see if i'll get the same problem and report it here
niketkumar, thanks for your help. I first try Jays Software, if i get the same problems i'll use your registry hack.
Thanks to both of you from my girlfriend, too - cause now it's less greener in our bedroom
So? Any news?
I stopped using the software and my phone hasn't crashed once. How's yours behaving?
Had the exact same problem, when using LED Toggle my device occasionally hangs. Since I stopped using it everything works just fine..
Man, that just sucks. I was so happy to be rid of that stupid light.
Now about that registry hack. I can find everything up to "\builtin" but the rest (AllLEDMgr\Index) doesn't exist. Do I have to create a new folder with an index file which has the value set to 0 or what?
Don't remember if I've tried the registry hack mentioned above, but I followed the thread about this issue in Modaco and tried numerous registry hacks before ending up with the only solution (that I'm aware of) that currently seems to work.
Which, unfortunately is the LED Toggle attached above, which in hand makes your device quite unstable..
So, back to the drawing board guys - hope someone finds a solution!
Just checked the corresponding thread on Modaco (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=243948&st=0) and indeed this solution is not working flawlessly on our beloved Prophets..
Why not just place it face down on your dresser at night?
this has to be one of the dumbest hack request on the site!!! do as blunt man said and put it face down if it's that annoying!

Jayxz, any of the workarounds i found generated problems so i just painted the light black. Not really the best solution but it sucked so badly
I find the green light annoying too, but i'd still like to have the orange warning when i received a msg or missed a call....
I hope that somebody could find a working solution for this
You can try the attached File i found at the MoDaCo Forum.
It works on my Prophet but some Users told that it drains the Battery

Notification / status LED only when not in Standby?

Hi everyone,
I noticed that the coloured notification / status LED is active only as long as the device is "awake". It turns off as soon as the X2 goes into standby.
That kinda defeats the purpose of a notifivation LED, doesn't it?
Or am I missing something in the settings?
Many thanks,
N.
Well, for anyone interested, this doesn't look good:
http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/1567?tstart=60
Feel free to comment.
wow, if the notification LED isnt even working properly then i've completely lost my interest in the Xperia X2... thats just a basic function that must be working on every phone. Including "high end" ones like the X2 once was when it was released.
Just to follow this up:
I've been in touch with SE support, and they're saying the X2 notification lights "should" be working even when the device is in standby. And they said I could send mine in for checkup. I'm considering that.
N.
Keep us informed on SE's reply...afaik it works in WM6.5.1 but not on WM6.5.3
Not much news here.
Sent my device in to Customer Service, who called to say that fixing the LED issue should not be a problem. Got it back yesterday, but nothing's changed, the problem is still there. Boooo, poor customer service!
So I'll send it in again. I've been given the name of the head of customer service so that they can take care of things.
Frankly the X2 is annoying me. Gorgeous piece of powerhouse hardware paired with completely f***ed-up software. It was just the other way round with the X1, but at least that device worked.

[Q] Registry key to control X2 charge indicator LED

Hello everybody,
As there is no application to make X2 charge indicator LED notify you for missed calls. At least no compatible with X2, till now I tried about 5 cabs from different sources.
Does somebody know the registry key and values to control X2 charge indicator LED?
Just found it
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D660-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}
add Dword name LedRefCount value 0
New problem met.
Once the phone enter in standby mode, LED stop functioning until phone is wake up. So missed call LED notification becoming useless.
Is there any solution to make LED working when Xperia X2 is standby.
There's no way round this fault. I got rid of my x2 because of it.
I posted the fault on se forum and at one point an admin said they'd ask the engineers. Rest assured that was the last I heard. I think se abandoned the x2 some time ago now.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App

Sadly this is true. Just got my X2 back from the SE service center (after having to send it in twice), but they say there is no way to fix it. They blame WM6.5.3. Actually guess where they pointed me for an "unofficial" solution (XDA!).
Now I'll have to decide whether to keep or sell my X2. It's a shame - pretty strong piece of hardware absolutely crippled by software.
I've looked around for WM6.5.1 for the X2, but it's nowhere to be found.
