WA2 Themes on Athena

I have seen a few posts now based around WA2 themes and thought i'd share some of my favourite skinners to tempt those that aren't quite convinced yet. Obviously if you have you own share away:

A_C imagination

Just her to list what could be very nice to get from this great developper A_C who already gave us S2U2, S2V and S2P
from my point :
S2R : S2Read Pdf Reader (I use Picsel Browser)
S2M : S2Movie Video player (why not include it into S2P ?)
S2W : S2Weather Meteo soft
S2C : S2contacts something like Pocket CM
S2SMS : S2sms, included into S2C
S2T : S2Today Today plugin
S2L : S2Launcher, something cool to launch directly soft

He's got 3 projects going already. Why not let him get each into a v1.0 final stage?

in any way it's a request program !
just to have brainstorming of what could be cool to have.
I'm already thinking the job he did is so awesome !

stop bothering A_C,
he makes great programs and they are all under development as i'm speaking.
Just let him make some finals first before starting on something new.
If you're so eager to have those apps, try studying coding for your ppc.

once again, and that's what I told to A_C
this topic is not to request, neither to force A_C to develop
just to bring him, after we have a debate, and a brainstorming, in the position to develop the most need soft for people

we all know that, but why don't you just wait until these apps are finished and A_C opens a request topic because he himself does not have enough inspiration, huh?

If you want programmer to develop more projects, you should have motivate them by making some donation I believe lot of people will agree with this thing

Trust me I understand A_C is busy with his other projects, but a little brainstorming and opinions about what others would look forward to can't hurt. Me personally I would love a better PDF reader. The current ones suck soooo bad it's very disappointing. I think this is a good idea for future apps A_C would just look here and if he wants to he can tackle if not then ok.

some ideas for future development wont hurt.

S2H: S2Home, would be all of them bundled up into one install.

what about picsel browser ?

I do think everyone must act at his own level
: i love A_C's apps but couldn't code any serious mobile app, so i dream of an A_C UI complete pack , when i like apps i donate & that's wat ive done for other developpers.
Today, since the Iphone, everybody dreams of moving, animated UIs, it's just wat misses to A_Cs products..S2P 0.32 is bringing some new..

I would add to the list of wishes.

I aggre with you. This post shouldn't be a request by a good place to post ideas or dreams about applications we would like to see on or PPC.
A-C is really good... maybe the best. The only one who have developped a player with a cover flow sytem... and so quickly!
For me : I 'd love to have a SLIDE 2 CALENDAR... like on the !ph*ne with the scrolling dates choice interface. Like this...

S2L - S2 live, so that he lives instead of u??
S2C - S2 coffe, so that you slide your finger and HOP! a cup of hot coffee also integrated in S2L of course. For each type of the media you have to learn different codecs, and it's not a piece of cake. A_C has learned 2 already. Let him finish these 2. Why don't u start developing??

The oldest members of our board couldn't forget these amazing games of the 80's like Hyper Olympic or Summer Games?
With S2Run no need to brutalize a joystick...just the screen.

They look fantastic man, amazing job, I just have this problem though...
While copying the pirate files @ the windows dir, I got a low mem msg @ 95%...
Now the damn message keeps popping up, how do I delete all these files?.. manually?
Where could I find those cabs you mention?
- oh well...fixed it Nice work, the only thing I didn't really like was the choice of backgrounds. Otherwise, a pretty good job

To all downloaders....My themes were downloaded together more than 3000 times (i know...many other themes more), but almost no comments. Only, if something goes wrong.
I would regret if the contribution would disappear - no comments, and at the 2nd day it´s on the 10th side of this thread and the other users never get an information about these themes.
Also it would be good to get information about some experiences you made. It´s a hard work, over 10, sometimes over 20 hours from the skinners to make their themes, but only a little effort, to post a critic after testing, doesn´t matter if positive or negative.

the only negative thing i can think of is ... copyrighted materials being used...
like trademarks and pictures ,
for the rest it looks nice

You´re right...but i don´t get any money for making this...it´s only fun. Here in the threads are the most things on a border to this question...Rom Cooking, working on _manilas and more. Noone makes official programs/ themes like these. And the most graphics i renewed, styled in another way as the originals and some are real new, made with graphic programs by myself. Excample: To cut the spider of the spiderman-logo, takes one hour of my time. And for the web i copied it out of 1 frame from the beginning of the film and edited this original web, so that you can see it on the little display. This theme takes over 20 hours, until it was ready. I try, to make these things as perfect, as i can.
Here in the threads we try to make the device more beautiful or more functional.... the manufacturer has less ideas and interests to this things. Maybe, it´s too much work and not so much to earn?! Or do you see somewhere programs, like you find here?
And it´s a good marketing for this people. If you have a theme like these or a better program, you have more identification with the diamond, with windows mobile, with film industry...you show, you are a fan of Pirates and make a little monument for it, and so on.
If I would sell these themes or get a donation for them it´s a step to far (for me), but to make it for fun without any financial interests.... who wants to see a theme with a pic of my father or me on his/her phone
Edit: I have a photo of me on the 1st bootscreen...if the phone was stolen, to rile the thieves. They were remembered to me every soft reset ;-)

i agree but most of those companies do have nasty lawyers thats all,
but if we are talking about ideas.... for new things ..
how about an Amiga theme and make the diamond screen look like some workbench screen .and kickstart like it was on the amiga 1000

It would be nothing, what i would like to see on my diamond...maybe it´s interesting for other skinners.
But i thank you for your tip... i´m not angry ´bout this. I know, that some companies like to bring people to the court. Hope, that they see here, that it´s fun and support a positive image for the films and not with the reason, to harm them.

I use also 1.93 and it works. The cabs have been downloaded very often since the last days and no problems reported. I hope, it all wents okay. In every cab are only the graphic files, tsk, sometimes rings. No system files.

Hi, thanx so much for these themes, they're are fabulous. I love the Pirates theme, one thing is you don't include calendar and connecion tab to your theme any more. Thanx for all what you have done.

A msg to all devs...

Hey, Devs,
'Just wanted to say that I'd like to see more AppToDate support in your wares. It's just SO much easier to run AppToDate than to tediously check for updated cabs in posts or new threads. And, if there's another means or prog other than AppToDate that you devs're using, could someone please fill me in?

I would think that most users just refresh the first page of the development and hacking page and update where necessary

So, devs, is there another auto-update method you're using? Or, can we all agree that AppToDate support oughta be in your latest ver.s?

Yeah, some most great apps like SKTools or Subsembly Mobile Banking 3 have AppToDate support built-in, why not all other great tools as well? It's not so tricky to add this feature into your programs!
Come on guys, let's make WM updating better than updating the iPhone!

Yeah, i agree! Took me 3 mins to add AppToDate support to my app! Makes updating software versions sooooo much easier! Also allows the dev to specify where people get the latest version from too for better download tracking!

there is little to no design consideration in the app, looking at the screenshots, who would want to read black text on a really dark background ? Design is not something thats an absolute, and it is not a direct answer most of the time, it's rather something you learn over years or get someone else to do

I m working at the design part, but i m not feeling like updating the app just for the font color if you have more suggestions i m more than happy to hear them

well put it this way, not being able to read text cause of the colors for the font and the background color, is a primary reasons for an instant uninstall... if that is not a reason to update the app, thats your choice... and there are many suggestions from a design standpoint, but if you don't see the big "show stoppers" there is little point adding trimmings
Don't want to sound harsh btw, and as always, this is just my opinion
