There is a way to put all runnings programs icons at system tray (left comm manager and battery indicator)?
Some programs is there (like TomTom) but others is running but don't show!
I use SPB pocket plus to show and switch running programs (alt-tab function), but if I can show all at system tray think is usefull.
Thanks
There is a small software called "xbar" making it possible to gather all the programs chosen in a bubble accessible by a simple button from the phone.
Look at here
http://xetranet.free.fr/xbar2/?lang=eng&project=xBar 2&page=Presentation
there's a ton of apps that do that type of thing - I use MagicButton myself.
I don't think any of them put the icons in the 'tray', though. I'm not sure how useful that would be either, as the 'tray' is only visible on the Today screen.
I think is usefull because if you don't close apps don't know "in a flash" what is running! You will see today many times, don't?
I use SPB alt-tab funtion assign to a botton, but if don't enter on it I don't know how many apps are running... anm memory slow down (I use too close app button)!
vbar is a great application with low memory usage.
Hi,
In Windows Mobile 6, I like to have all my active tasks to be actually listed on the main page, but I don't know how to configure that. right now, when there is a task, it just says something like "5 Active tasks" for example without actually listing each specific task. Does any body know how to do this, or if it is possible in WM 6?
thanks,
Payam
I think you need a third party app to do this.
"Magic Button" will show icons in top bar for each app running, up to four or so... Also a program called TaskSwitch: really only good for what it says it does, but it will briefly show icons of what is running when you activate it (usually by mapping to a button.) Other options exist, I'm sure, but may not do exactly what you want. These should be easy to find.
I think the OP is referring to the Tasks in the PIM, not the active applications running on the PPC, but those programs work for what you are talking about.
you need 3rd party software like sbsh pocketbreeze or similar
Can someone tell me how to display (not to hide!) the System Tray when I use PCM TodayShrink ? In my case it completely disappears !
Remove the link or file from the startup dir and then restart
I don't understand: if I remove the file from startup, then I won't have TodayShrink running? I would like to run both TodayShrink and the SysTray
scratches head
So you want to show the system tray while using a program thats programmed to hide the system tray?
I believed that TodayShrink will hide only the taskbar, not the systray.
I want to have more space on my TodayScreen but I want to keep my systray!
I think this app will hide the topbar and the bottom bar(where your softkeys sit). As far as the systray goes you may need to change some registry settings to do that, there is also an app somewhere for doing it. If you start the todayshrink app with -config as a parameter I believe it will give you the options for setting the size of both the top and bottom bars.
try vijay tools...It does exactly what you want. It's what I use...No softkeys but still have my programs in the systems tray.
I don't have the link to his site but a quick google should find it. Vijay is a mod here also.
Hope This Helps,
Jim
Thank you but what is the name of the soft?
vjtoggletodayiialpha
start it with -config where you can set the top and bottom bar size
unfortunately I already tried this soft but I have the same problem
so you want to replace the "softkey" screenspace with the "systray".....
i guess that will not be possible.... the softkeys are only hidden not disabled...
and systray is 10px above....
Yes you have found what I want!
But it is impossible ... too bad
lol.. i deleted the registry TrayVisible in HKLM\Software\vijay555\ works a dream.
Hi all!
I just installed the AT&T leaked test ROM + XboxMod Rhodium. I like the fact that the "Programs" TF3D tab is gone and instead pressing the Windows Start will bring me to my favorite apps.
However, the "All Programs" soft-button still flattens the contents of //Windows/Start Menu . There are many apps there to begin with and I'll have a crapload more installed soon - I don't want to flick through a long, flat list to run what I want. Frankly, I find it rather annoying to do that every time. I will be adding my most frequently used apps/games/utils to the favorites, but that has limited space.
So, here are my ideas for improvements (I wish I could hack it together myself, but I have neither the time, nor the in-depth knowledge):
1) The "All Programs" list should have an alphabetical vertical scroll, similar to the new "All People" list: touch a letter to go to the apps starting with that letter.
2) Make the "All Programs" list follow the folder hierarchy of //Windows/Start Menu with sub-lists. I can then re-arrange //Windows/Start Menu to my liking and it'd be instantly reflected in "All Programs".
3) Add the capability to add shortcuts to folders on the favorite apps button panel itself. Right now it allows me to add apps only from the "All Programs" list.
The above solutions are not mutually exclusive.
Basically, I am looking for a more organized, finger-friendly way to launch programs.
PS: Yes, I have used QuickMenu before, which I found to be a very good solution, unfortunately, it's not very finger-friendly and it doesn't fit into the TF3D2 theme and user experience at all.
This would be a fantastic enhancement to the Rhodium TF3D experience.
My additional/alternative requests would be more simple & straight-forward:
- Identify the exe for the WinMo Start screen, and create a .lnk to it and add it to programs folder, allowing me to set one of my favorites in Rhodium Start screen to be a link to the traditional WinMo Start Menu experience.
- In the All Programs TF3D screen, add a right soft-key to launch the traditional WinMo Start experience

Good news: someone already did point 2 and 3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442341)
Bad news: it does not work on new devices with VGA and WVGA display.
Ok i know a few of you would like to do this, and i think its been asked before but nothing turns up on search.
What the hell is it with the windows home screen, icons all over the place, no real easy way to move them, or order them.
I have tried a few programs but they mainly just seem to mess things up, i have also tried organizing all my icons into folders in windows, while it does sort of work there are still things you cant move, or it just does not go to plan, i know in 6.5.1 there is an option to re-organise icons how you like, but surely there is a way for 6.5?, its driving me nuts, there is crap all over the place with no organization to it.
Example i do things like this, create folder for the following...
TOOLS
MUSIC
VIDEO
ONLINE
NAVIGATION
ECT...
And place corresponding progs into it, so you have some idea as to where a certain program is, its just neater.
Any ideas anybody?, i came across a site where some chap had written a program and had done everything i want to, but it didnt work for me, just kept crashing.
Jesus i could even do this on my nokia.....
Go to \Windows\Start Menu. There you can create folders that will then show up in the start menu and you can reorganize your shortcuts to those folders.
Use JWMD Icon Changer, it works on the HD2.
I'm obsessive about my Start menu order as well, so I definitely can tell you that program works. You can even change the icons since some programs have tiny jagged icons.
Use JWMD Icon Changer
Thats what i tried, but it does not seem to work and its cumbersome.
What am i doing worng?
What problem are you having exactly? It's not really cumbersome, it's a lot nicer than the other alternative which is Showaco's reStart (that one doesn't seem to work on the HD2, anyway).
If you have used the Windows feature to move icons up/down your Start menu list it will confuse this program, so you need to tap any icon you moved in that way and reset it to where it was before.
Then go to JWMD, browse to the folder you want to organize, click on tools and select arrange list. In the next window you can do organize your icons alphabetically or however you like. Then click save and restart your device and it should all work.
How am i supposed to remember what icons i moved in windows, i moved loads, maybe would explain why its not working.
So back to my original point, it does not really work....
Unless i can do a reset of the icons somehow?
If you tap on an icon and it gives you an option to move it to the bottom, it means you moved it to the top using the built-in method at some point.
The program works, it's not its fault you don't remember which icons you moved. If you don't believe me I can post for you a screenshot of my properly alphabetized Start Menu.
Yes i understand that the program is not meant to know and its not its fault, but bear in mind i have been fiddling with this phone for 4 weeks, theres no way in hell i can remember whats been moved where?.
Is there anyway to reset them all in one go, or it makes the prog pretty useless.
I told you, if you tap and hold on an icon and instead of giving you the option to 'move to the top' it gives you the option to 'move to the bottom' it means you used Windows' built-in way to rearrange those icons.
You can go through your list and move all the ones that let you to the bottom and leave the others where they are. Then try Icon Changer and see if it works.
Alternatively you can just hard reset your phone... or wait until a new ROM comes out... it shouldn't be too long away now and that will erase all your data anyway.
ah ill wait for new rom, to much hassle
Well, you're welcome anyway.
