Hello/Moin,
I have an Wazard with a bad akku. I only use the Wizard for testing. The problem is, that I have made an firmware update with the bad akku. In the middle of the updating-prozess the akku was empty. Now I have an wizard, with ist starting the three color screen in an endless modus.
I have a laboratory power pack. I can set the voltage an the current. The WIZARD has six pins for akku. Which voltage has to be attached to which pin?

The same Text on german: Hallo, ich habe meinen Wizard zerschossen. Beim wechseln der Firmware hat der Akku aufgegeben. Jtzt startet er immer wider diesen drei Farben screen. Wie kann ich den Wizard direkt an einem Netzteil betreiben? Welche Spannung muss an welchen Pins anliegen?
hi,
the voltage you'll need is 3.7 volts. And if you face the pda from the back, the upper pin is the positive and the last pin is the negative, so you don't need the pins between the first and the last.
I've also found a dead battery fix on the net. I'm with the same battery issue, but the fix won't help. Maybe it works for you?
There are two options, the first one can be found here: http://asktheadmin.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/htc-wizardcingular-8125-dead-battery-fix-errr-jumpstart-pt-1/
And the second option if you cant find a second battery: http://asktheadmin.wordpress.com/2007/06/22/htc-wizardcingular-8125-dead-battery-fix-errr-jumpstart-pt-2/
Oh, and if you know other ways to fix my pda, could you tell me how?
Good luck!

Once my computer just up and turned off in the middle of a flash. After this it would only go into bootloader mode (RGB screen.) Good thing I ripped my original ROM with WST (Wizard Service Tool), as my piddly lil carrier doesn't have a official rom that I've found.
In my experience, if you can get bootloader and it says "USB" in the bottom left when connected, you can flash your original rom (or part of) to your phone with the no id version of RUU.
Although I haven't experienced the dead battery issue, I don't think the RGB would load in that case. However, pinouts.ru is the shiznit. Happy hunting.
Im kinda unsure what your problem is
Is it you cant access the boot loader to flash a new rom??
Or is it you dont have a battery??
Did ya try booting while holding the camera button with the stylus pressing the reset button?
also you can get a new battery for $10 at
http://www.batteries.com/productprofile.asp?appid=394544
the wizard repair manual might help too
hopefully i helped somewhat lol
@ SlimDan22: None of your 2 options.. His problem is that he flashed his rom and in the middle of the flashing process, his PDA turned off. Because he has a dead/bad bettery. So the only thing he has to do is charge his battery with the wallcharger to 100% (from 0% to 100% it takes 4 hours according to the ser vice manual). Then connect it to the pc and get the bootloader in USB mode. You can do that by holding the camera button and press the reset button with the stylus. Hold the camera button until the device restarts, then follow the on-screen steps (just press the send key, the green button)
Then the device is in USB mode and you can flash your PDA again
I've got nearly the same problem (exept the reboot in the middle of the flash process) so i've got to fix my battery issue.
This is what I'm doing now:
I'm testing my PDA with the htc battery diagnostic tool "PowerDetect". I've attached the tool if you want to use it
I also found the service manual at: ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Docs_Tutorials/Wizard_Service_Manual.pdf.
I've put back the original Rom temporary now (WM5, not WM6) maybe that was the problem but my battery issue started before I upgraded my PDA to the newest TNT software.
My prevous software was TNT 5.0, that's where the problem started (after a use of a couple of months..)
I hope I can fix my phone, because I've no warrenty anymore. It's second hand and i teard off the warrenty label..
We'll see if it works..
I've heard about many issues with the wizard but this is the most annoying one until now
Succes fixing your phone

My problem is nearly solved
After some tests with multimeter and PowerDetect I found out that it was a bad battery problem. There were many options:
1. bad battery
2. corrupted chip on mainboard
3. bad contacts (oxidation on pins)
4. software bug
So it was #1, I don't need help anymore..
The website for a new battery wich SlimDan22 linked, was very cheap but only ships in UK and I'm living in the netherlands but I found a good website if you're living here: http://shop.strato.com/epages/61396109.sf/secoKSHUJAaOLc/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61396109/Products/PDA16010
It has many models of batteries but only ships in the netherlands so..

PS. @snowyrain: would you tell me if it worked for you by just connect a powerpack to the pins? maybe i'll do that instead of buying a new battery..

Hi there!
I have various problems with my updated MDAI.
1. I Updaded to 4.00.33 GER T-Mobile from lumpistefans ROMKitchen.
Everything worked fine - I should have been satisfied BUT
2. unfortunatelly I have upgraded to 4.01.19 GER T-Mobile and now I am in trouble:
-the unit wont start using the Powerswitch - I have to softreset to start - then it will work fine untill It switches of -> soft-Reset again....and so on...
Now I want to flash again with the hope to get it working properly BUT: the unit wont charge - and so the programm refuses to flash.
I have had the problemof not charging before - bur without doint a thing it charged suddenly again - but now it wont!
Please help.
First priority: hot to get it charging again.
THANKS in advance!!!
EDIT: in the meantime I have installed the previos version via SD-Card.
Still the problem: no reaction an powerswitch but it will boot on softreset...
I can switch it off using the powerswitch but to start it up again I have to softreset.
The GSM works even if its off..(green LED)
what coud be the problem?
It may be a problem with the charge circuit fuse, there are details on this board how to bridge the fuse with a small wire. Go here for details
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7766&highlight=fuse
click on the pictures to make them bigger.
I have (how do you say in english?) messured? the fuse its 0 Ohm so its fine.
but anyway - its charging (no idea why - but fine) again and today I will spend some time trying to flash several different ROMs into it may be one will be working.
I cannot believe the device is gone faulty especially the powerbutton just by flashing a new ROM.
Thanks anyway - I will kepp you informed!
By now there is hope ;-)
Hi, this my first ever thread.
Recently, I have bought a used O2 Exec but running on Dopod ROM (ver 1.30.111 WWE date 04/06/06), Radio ver. 1.11.00, Protocal ver 42.45.P8, ExtROM 1.30.230 WWE.
The device runs on Windows Mobile 5 and everything seems to be stable until the battery level falls below 55%. The screen suddenly becomes blank and the device shuts down by itself. When I press the power button it would boot up to Dopod logo then the Microsoft Windows Mobile and it finally shuts down. Even if I remove the battery and placing it back, pressing the power button would only reboot up to the Microsoft Windows Mobile, then shut down. I could only reboot when I plug in the AC power adapter.
Sometimes it even happens even battery level at 70%!
This problem occurs on the first day I bought the device from an XDA-developer member in Subang Jaya, Malaysia. When I request for assistance he suggest I refer to this forum.
I would be grateful if someone can help me out to resolve this issue. I am only using standard software (no third party) so eliminate possible software conflicts. I believe the battery could be the culprit but I have no resources to verify this.
Thank you
Forum is full of posts like yours. The problem is in the battery. You have to get a new one.
TQ tailazoom for ur info
based on my experience,,,,, 100% caused by battery issue.
plz change battery ASAP due to it maybe damage your hardware.
thanks
Hi,
Same thing happened to me - bought a new battery - problem solved.
One point I think you must buy the proper OEM battery like this one here:

Has bought the device second-hand from a comp firm with a guarantee for 1 month. After 1 month of no problems working the gadget began to turn off by itself at first on 27 % of the battery (original) .
Then 32, etc .
I has thought, that problem is in old battery. Has bought new CS-execsl with 1750mAh, but the device continued to switching off without any system/sequence .
It practically is not switching off when it on the charge! The hard reset is tried. Has already passed 5 months, the firm does not respond. At a full charge on both bateries it is switched off in 5 minutes of work/ full loading of the processor.
How it is possible to solve a problem? The service centre puts the overestimated sum.
Where can I found the newest ROM /shoul this help?

Welcome
Yes, perhaps upgrading the ROM could help
Please READ the Wiki, you´ll find several ROM´s and a way to upgrade
I personally would recommend any of Tomal ROM¨s
Good luck
I just tried to change ROM on 100%battery. Installed a little bit soft (resco explorer, core player, opera). The same problem. Switcging off after the same time of watching video on both batteries.
Can it be the hardware problem?
Yes!
It's a battery problem...
I had the same problem... at 27 -33%
probabily some unofficial charge set (like the car adapter) could damage your battery.
Don't buy another original battery, use ebay. The original it's like 60€, but on ebay is like 40€...
I have an original battery and from CS but the same problem happens.Do you know some other tricks (like paper trick)?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=UniversalBatteryIssue
Check this out Mine turns off too but at 20%, but soon I'll order a 3200 extended and maybe the problem will disappear .
Mine too, it turns off at 20%, but well I have the original battery since 2005 so I can´t ask for more, I just bought a new one from Dukenukem and aparently it´s original
no result
I tried the "peice of tape on the second pin" but without any result.
Tried to push the battery (if it is the connection problem) but it is conecting there well.
Installed the newest ROM with WM6.1 by Luka16thebig, no result.
When device turns self off it make a short sound like "little fly hits a window".
Want to buy a new Asus P750.
Hey all, working on a friends G1 (Yeaaa mine isnt the messed up one heh) anyways its odd.. sometimes it locks up. I mean I have even flashed restored it fresh etc. Sometimes when you plug the charger in it doesnt even act like anything happened. Sometimes need to take battery out and put back in a few times to get it to respond etc.
Now I am wondering, since right now it turns on fine etc.. could this be some sorta software botch up or is it hardware? Anyone else see issues like this where the G1 is unstable? Its not been dropped or water as well. Just trying to see notes before I tell him it has to be sent off. Thanks.

I'd restore to stock and see if it continues. If so, warranty exchange it.
Use the searc buttton.
I agree with GenericNode, just tell him to send it back. They will replace it for 10 dollars (Shipping charge). It's not worth the long term risks.
Question is, how long is the warrenty for? I dont know if it is or not, also I did restore to stock, never had this one modded.
und max, was ist mit dir? Du bist neu hier und nichts konstruktive zu sagen? Auch es ist "Search" geschrieben nicht "Searc" und ich kann hier suchen aber mein probleme ist was anderes. Ok?

please follow the forum rules and post in english only.
a safe way to determine, whether this actually is a software or hardware related issue, is to change the entire software.
therefor, you could format your sd card, perform a task 29, flash another rom and radio and see if it still happens. also, you must only flash your device, when the battery is fully charged, or you might throw off the calibration.
