How do i get rid of Orange GPRS Settings on HTC Touch? - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

I bought an Orange HTC Touch Dual which i now use in MTN Nigeria but i cant seem to set up GPRS or WAP on it...seems as if the Orange settings cannot be overridden..
does this mean i cant use GPRS or WAP of another network on an Orange Phone?
How can i wipe out ALL Orange GPRS settings? Very worried as it seems my phone is pretty useless without GPRS.
Thanks

You can try to flash another ROM and then, manually, set up GPRS with your own parameters.

Italian TIM brand disappear when:
1) hard reset
2) proceed until screen calibration
3) while rebooting click on lateral button for SOFT RESET
In this case, it seem that brand is applicated as an "autoexec"; with soft reset you con stop loanding.
i don't know if this procedure is ok for you...

Hi all,
i just took my O2 Exec and i have some basic questions that seek for an answer quickly...
I cannot understand whether there is a simlock there or no... i put in there my sim card (Voda UK) and some strange things happen. i sometimes get a UMTS vodafone uk signal and other times a gprs one... Like every five minuits the G turns in to a U and so on.... What do i need to do???is there a simlock and if so how do i unlock?
How do i hard reset my phone and what ROM should i use?
Were can i get the Voda UK settings for mms and gprs?
Is there anything else that i should set in order to have a fully functioning mobile for sms, mms, voice calls?
and a not important one... shouldnt there be the skype software in my phone?
I know that i should search and find what i want but i am in the the midle of an assignment and i do not have the time to do so... Just need to have my phone functioning properly until i have the time to dig out the rest of the things that i want.So just forgive me for asking insted of searching.Wont happen again.

It is just moving between UMTS and GPRS. Mine does it too. If it can't get a good enough signal on UMTS it switches to GPRS. If it sees a better UMTS signal, it switches back.

Two soft buttons while pressing stulus reset hole. Nothing wrong with the O2 ROM so stick with that.

See above

Only the JASJAR and MDAPro come with Skype IIRC.
Thank you for the extremely fast and accurate reply.
So there is no problem with the U and G thing. Ok then i will just get used to it. It was that i have never seen the U before.
U means 3G and fast data speeds.
it seems that i cannot manage to do the right settings so that my sms, mmsa dn gprs works. I found the settings but...no combination worked.
Anyway, is there a how to or something that i can check out?
Any other ideas?
Many thanx

Click to collapse
You can install Skype yourself from the Skype website, but IMHO it's not ready yet. It's very slow and buggy, and the connection quality is questionable.
Wait a month or two until Skype is fully compatible with WM5 and the experience will be much better!
I am getting really confused here......
I managed to fix my gprs 3g settings (following a wm 2003 quide and using the settings from filesaveas) and i can surf the net but i still cannot receive and send any mms.
Any ideas????
HELP!!!
edit: Also is there anybody that has active sync 4.1? i cannot even syncronise my contacts.!

Avoid T-mobile branding by install Jasjar or Dopod-ROM?

Jasjar and Dopod seem to be just retailers of the Universal, so they won't have a too strong branding on their devices, right?
Is it possible to install the Jasjar or Dopod-ROM on my T-mobile device in order to avoid the T-mobile branding?
After that I could configure WM5 to the right network etc. ...
I just found out that the easyest way is to start a soft reset after a hard reset just before the branding-routine starts

changing 3G/MMS settings after unlocking

Hi All
I've got a Tytn provided by Vodafone Spain. I'll be moving to the Uk and I'll have company phone (BT). I thought about unlocking the phone using the Internet Service (20 pounds), but after that, would it be possible to change the GPRS config in order to get it working properly (3G, MMS, etc)?. How do I do that?
Thanks for your help!
Yes, it will be possible. Just search for the right settings for your new operator after unlocking the phone. Probably you can find a cab file with the settings.

Prolem with vodafone GPRS settings-ireland

Hi...i'm having a problem connecting to the mobile web with vodafone ireland. i have a touch diamond that i bought locked to orange uk and unlocked it but it just will not get the settings right. i've tried an 02 sim card with no problem and i've tried a 3 sim card, again with no problem, which leads me to believe that its not the phone. i contacted vodafone but you might as well be talking to a brick wall. they could only send me the settings for the closest model, which is the vodafone v1520. sorry for the long waffle...but i love my phone and i don't wanna change network so i'll be forever indebted for any help!!
Vodafone Gprs
Hey
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106942
Check out the above link and use the settings for GPRS on old handsets. works for me, FINALLY. One thing to be wary off however, vodafone charges you a 20 cent connection charge EVERY time you connect to the service, even if you don't do anything on it.... so if you connect in the morning, just leave it on lol!
hope this helps,

no internet connection with vodafone Raphael

I just buyed Touch Pro / Raphael from vodafone without branding (their hotline told me) and I need to use it with my t-mobile sim card until company contract would switched to vodafone.
I can do phone calls and also got internet configuration sms from t-mobile with "correct" settings. I also can receive emails from a pop3 account,
but I am not able to start eighter internet explorer or opera to get internet access.
When I use a prepaid vodafone sim card, opera will run, of course I changed back to vodafone settings.
My problem is that I need support, because I am on a business trip in dubai and need to have internet access with my phone.
ROM 1.90.162.5 Ger
09/24/08
Radio 1.02.25.19
Protocol 52.33.25.174
Many thanks in advance!!
Many thanks for your support! I am in trouble and nobody seems able or willing to help.
I have only internet access when i go in the hotel lobby and ask someone to share his computer...
i dont really understand what you want..
you want to use internet on your phone with your vodafone sim.
But its not connecting or....................... ??????
Raphael is vodafone branded or not, I do not exactly know.
I have a t-mobile sim card.
phonecalls and pop3 download of emails working, therefore I think it is not sim locked, but even with the correct internet profile from t-mobile installed, either opera nor explorer get internet access.
Do I need to supercid the phone?
Thans for your reply!!
Hmm.. i have to say that i dont have the answere.
but maybe post this also in the Raphael part of the forum.
maybe they know.
Under HTC Touch Elf, I had to do this :
in start menu : "settings"
"connections" tab
"connection setup" icon
then select my country and operator.
I'm not sure it'll work with a Raphael one... but anyway, try it!
