I wish to hack MusicID

I tried using ResHacker but after replacing some of the graphics (which is all I'm after) MusicID wouldn't run anymore claiming it was unsigned.
How can I replace the graphics in this app and still have it function afterwards?
(FWIW: the graphics in MusicID appear to have been done by someone schooled in minimalist 80's computer graphic design. Who failed.)

New Thread
There is a new thread at the top of this page, where you just posted this question, made specifically to stop unnessicary threads like this. I dont see how it could be looked over. All of the questions there are answered extremely fast, and with good features too. Why would you start a new thread, when you could use this? Try posting it there!

Just curious, what kind of new thread would be considered acceptable to you? I'm not trying to be a smart*ss, im serious, if all "unnecessary" questions go in the "top of the page" thread, what kind of topic/question/information would be alright to start a new thread? Just so i don't make the same mistake kwoodall made.

Hmm. I did this for that very program awhile back and it worked fine. Only thing i think it could be is if a image file had a different extension or there was a problem when you saved it back to cab.
Or did you try and change the images once it was installed instead of editing the cab file?

I tried to edit the .EXE file itself. Was I a bad boy?

Actually my fellow ppc'er. If you read about the Development & Hacking section , there probably isn't a correct topic/subject to start a new thread. It specifically says that this section is for pretty much Hardcore Developers.
In other words, from the way I've read the rules, and about this section, and especially what I've learned from the Mod's and senior members, this section is supposed to be for someone who has created an application/software/etc. Not to ask questions. I may be mistaken , but from what I've gathered, the only way a question should be asked in this section , is if you can find a specific thread concerning what you are lookin for, and then post it in that thread.
I know that when you go to this section that is not the case, but thats how it was meant to be, and that is why that thread up to , was created. So theres your answer.

I disagree. If that was the requirement for making a new thread, ones having to do with dialer skins, spb mobile shell, all the HTC programs, opera mobile beta, etc etc etc would all have to be erased or relocated, and I just don't think that's appropriate. This thread deals with hacking and the modification of a program, thus I think it is entirely appropriate to post it here. That said, I don't know of a solution for the OP's issue but would like to know the answer as well.

Install SDKCerts.cab and/or change your security policy to allow unsigned applications via HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies add new value "0000101b": dword = 1
In the future, please use the thread mentioned earlier for questions, as this is a rather simple step that almost everyone knows about...

you can download it in the roms forum. there's a link for the CAB if you scroll down a ways

[Q] How can I get the default dialer back?

Hi all,
I am running Froyd Villain, and I am very happy with it, but I am looking for a way or a rom that uses the old default dialer: The one where I can start typing a name and number and it filters to available.

Sorry for being such a n00b, but I am trying to figure out what the correct terms are.
So where is the right place to ask these kind of questions?
I tried dialer one, but it quite slow, and was just wondering if there is a rom that has sort of closer to the default 2.2 rom?

Try using nubdialer, which should be built into the ROM.

I am getting quick launch menu even when I am charging the phone via plug. Can anyone please let me know, how to resolve this?

hmmm....y didn't you ask three questions in a single thread only instead of creating 3 separate threads?....it would be nice from users like u (you're here more than a year now)...to spread the rules around not tearing them down, don't you think?

well.....mate...TBH....if i would have to ask 3 questions...i'd open one thread for sure....or better...i'd search for a thread which is most simmilar to my questions....e.g. any froyo rom thread would be ok....there are many, eh?....and i wouldn't have to even open one thread...coz there's still many users using froyo roms & your answers might be answered faster by only posting in any froyo dev thread where many users are helping each others...maybe even a dev itself gaves you an answer to your questions.....
you know what i mean, right?

EDIT: btw: if you go to my profile and view all my threads that i've created...you'd see that i only opened 1 request/question thread...and that was on ideos x5 forum(my girlfriends machine)...regarding theme for stock Android 2.3.5...which was rolled out at that time....and yeah...i was a total noob about android system before i came here to XDA......i knew.....0.0....null...nothing about Android at all

yes....asap.......kindly tell me... what did you try to do to fix this by now?...and maybe screenshot of an issue in action would be helpfull too....i haven't been on froyo for a long time now....so refreshing my mind would help me too
