Hello, I have a Qtek 9100 and unfortunately I dropped it and scratched the front of the casing up pretty bad. The phone is still in perfect condition and not even a scratch on the back or the screen. I am looking for the front housing. I do not have any scratches on the rear housing, keyboard, or even the battery cover. I have looked on Ebay and the only thing that I have found is for around $100 (US). I do not want to pay that much for something that I can conceivably drop again. So my question is; is there anyone out there that knows where I can get a front housing? I would even buy the total housing to use as a backup but I do not want to spend an arm and a leg for it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone has.
im looking for one myself.. i dropped my imate kjam a numerous amount of time...and the body has been scratched up rpetty bad
if theres a way to get it in canada, ottawa.. id really appreciate to find out..
thnx
How about vinyl sticker to put on top of the scratches? Like those offered by mytego.com?
you can see how it look like from this thread at howardforum

Oh. That's slick the way the background and vinyl work as one.
Hi all
Do you know places where I can find broken Hermes ?
I have to try to replace some pieces but thinking about it ; it may be better and less expensive for me to use some old broken phone ??
Nothing like that on ebay ; in fact I don't know if such a website exist so if you have some hints or if you were going to garbage your old one...
Happy New Year for ya all.
I have a herm200 thats fried out. What components are you looking for? I may be able to help. PM me if your interested.
I also have some spares, I made my Hermes out of 3 broken phones!!
let us know what you need.. sure someone will have it...
Cheers
Steve
I really need a mainboard for the Hermes if any one has one
Anyone got a herm100 housing in good nick?
I would like an HERM200 Mainboard as well. Mine still works, but there's a short circuit in it because of water damage which not only drains the battery but also disables the rear speaker
I don't care what version of the HERM200 it is, as long as it fits and works in the TyTN casing!
Southeastblue. I have a herm200 housing set thats in pretty good condition. I don't know if that helps considering you said a herm100.

Would any of you happen to have the ribbon cable that goes from the back of the LCD to the Dpad.

Hi there,
unfortunately I dropped my Toch HD last weekend on rough ground, the housing ist completely scratched at the corners and looks awful. The lucky part is that technically it still works perfectly and the display/screen is not damaged.
So, I'd like to replace the housing and I've already found some replacement parts on the net (e.g. here for USD 80... i know, quite expensive but for me it's worth it, cheaper offers always welcome though).
The real problem is that I couldn't find any instructions to do it and no hints whether any special tools are necessary. The forum search only delivered rare information. With a proper instruction I would dare to do it myself, but without I'm afraid to damage the device.
So has anybody got a detailed instruction or experience changing the housing?
would be grat,
thanks in advance,
regards jan
Isn't this what you are looking for?

And congratulations for not damaging the screen, because this is what happened to me (see the attachment), and amazingly everything works .
Thank You, exactly what I was looking for...
...however, it looks much more complicated than I expected... have to toke some time to analyze the instruction for which steps are necessary for changing the casing only without complete disassembly... not sure yet if I should dare it...
but, anyway, thank you again!
regards jan
P.S.1: has anybody tried it yet and have some experience to share?
P.S.2: I'm not sure about the "plastic stick" shown in the disassembly part... whether it's really just a flat and bit flexible plastic stick or if itr has any special tip...
try, it's easy
I did it on a P3600 and it was not so difficult, just take your time (at least one hour).
Read everything carrefully before starting, prepare tools and clean your hands
I also dropped my touch hd and dented the front bezel. I have bought a complete replacement housing and tools required for only £25 on ebay.
I have read the service manual and it doesn't deal with removing the lcd screen from the bezel. I read somewhere that it is a complete unit and you can't detach it easily
The new case is still in its box until I can find more out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Yup it isn't as easy as it looks. The manual lacks details as it only tells you how and where but did not elaborate more on minor yet important details.
I bought an antenna cover from ebay to replace, and boy, removing the cover was not easy at all. I used to take apart my other phones all the time and HD is the most difficult one I've done. I ended up breaking the small plastic sockets (that clicks the cover firmly into place) of the original cover. Luckily I have a new one to fit back in. Originally I wanted to replace the whole housing myself but I stopped after the antenna cover until I get a video of how its done.
So anyone? Kindly? Any videos please? XD
still no videos out there?
not looking good for us as i still can't find any video tutorials out there so im assuming that its super hard to do
please can anyone assist?

lol i chickened out eventually. and im still using my not-so-perfect housing as im reluctant to change it myself while being too stingy to pay a pro to do it.
I need the battery cover and the rear center fan grill for a shift so that i can make some repairs to mine but the only solution i can find at the moment is £80 for a whole new shell and im not sure if it has the grill in there either.

how hard is it to re-shell a shift? the dissasembly has no images anymore
Any ideas or spares sources i dont know of?
(forgot to say uk based but will buy from abroad)
I May Be Able To Help.
I have a dead Shift. The Shell is in great shape. What exactly are you needing?
What's wrong with your Shift. I'm interested in buy all shift or LCD screen.
Sounds verry interesting toprowguy you want to arrange a trade or paypal sumething?
I have an old charmer and p3600 gathering dust , erm, thoughts?...
i just need a new grill for the rear center vent and a new battery cover tbh,
but im tempted to put it in a new shell because of some minor paint flecking off
from the bezel around the screen, but the ones on ebay are a bit pricey for that
kind of 'less than essential' repair.
the rest is fine tho
now ive drpped it argh im cursed, to be fair about 3ft in the air on to a hard wood floor.
only a small crack on the casing above the camera everything else seems ok another reason to consider replacing the whole case
Looking At It More Closely
Looking at my Shift more closely I do see some scratches and chipping paint. The scratches are on the front between the LEDs and the screen. They are minor though and I'm willing to bet that if you put an InvisibleShield (or the like) on it, they would disappear. The chipped paint is around the plug and the USB slot. The rear center vent and the battery cover as in perfect shape. As far as the screen is concerned, I don't think it works anymore, but I can't say for certain because I'm not about to switch it out with my working Shift. Don't want to come close to killing this one too.
We can certainly work something out. I've sold the keyboard in these forums already, to a Flojo Premier. They can tell you I'm good on my word. As are they. PM me.
awesome ive pm'd you
Sup guys.
As the title says, my recently bought uni housing have a crack. It's located right under bottom right corner of uni's display. As far as I know it's pretty frequent damage of uni housing, and it's not doing any harm to my pda but I just don't like it. Would prefer to have it sealed ;]
There goes the question - is there anyone who tried gluing it?
Which glue would you recommend for this?
I'm thinking about model glue (does it have some other, certain name in english? I dunno about it, as english isn't my native, and I'm not into models too ;] Anyway it's the one you use to glue plastic models). It have needle, so it's precise - I don't want to left any marks of gluing on my uni.
What do you guys think? Is it even possible to glue it neatly? Is the model glue okay? Or should I pick another one? If so - which one?
Thanks in advance.
I think some might say you can get a new housing off ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/FULL-GREY-HOUSI...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4cedb9772e
US $42.49 ---> GPB £27.8364
just typed 'XDA Exec' in to ebay US and found: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=XD...&_odkw=HTC+Universal+housing&_osacat=0&bkBtn=
Also found: http://cgi.ebay.com/O2-Xda-Exec-Qte...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item45f1fac0d9
Yeah, but I don't need new one. One I have actually is in good condition, and not really worn out - only this crack bothers me.
Also it's not doing any harm to pda, so paying 40$ for new housing is out of question. If there is no way to glue it (I think it will work, though), then I will just live with it ;]
am starting to get that =]
i think you should try and purchase a 6 start screw driver.
and dismantal the screen then try to glue to.
if not just spend $37 on a scrren outer housing for the screen and base
