Reading email in application - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi!
I am trying to create an application in visual studio c#. However i try i just cant seem to find the right controls for reading email from an imap server. I tried googling for it but at best i found third-part controls for this.
Does anybody have a clue if it is possible to read emails either from an existing account in Pocket outlook or just via my own application?
I have Visual Studio 2008 using the .net compact framework

Any direct equivalent app to Pocket Lookout 2?

Hi,
As per subject really...
Pocket Lookout 2 was the first application that i purchased for my JAM. It's great in many ways and was the only app (to my knowledge) that could do what i wanted, which was to sync EVERY single folder in MS Outlook.
The only downsides, which seem to be a software programming issue, is one, you cannot view the receiptant's email address nor does it seem to support attachments. Unfortunately the software producers have ceased to provide any more support.
Anyone know of another program that can do this, aswell as replicate every folder on MS Outlook?
N.B. I don't sync with any POP/ Mail Server accounts directly, only just what is on my Outlook; i.e 4 separate email accounts.
Any info would be great.
Thanks

Control Pocket PC via SMS

Have a mobile operator which provides SMS-notification, when new mail received on my email box. It comes to Pocket PC (Wallaby) and I would like it to connect to the POP3 account to download mail from it - upon receiving SMS.
Microsoft suggested the following solution: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnppcgen/html/callevents.asp
I don't know C++, neither have the SDK installed... Maybe somebody can suggest the solution?

Push Email without Exchange?

I want to use my 8125 with my IMAP account for push email. The way I see it should be pretty simple to make a program that looks for a SMS message (which I would set my email server to forward) that would then trigger pocket Outlook to check my IMAP account.
Does anyone know of a program that would do this or know how hard it would be to program it? I would be willing to pay (a small fee) for the right application.
Looks like I should have searched a bit harder before I posted - http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,47016
Ill try it out and post my findings here.
I can't seem to get that to work on my device. Does anyone else have any ideas?
Hi, I have been using the app at www.vgsmail.com/ppc and it works great for me
fowen did you find something similar to this for the wm2003se system.
I also noticed that this only works with wm5.0 but my device is 2003se and all i have is a pop3 email client.
If you have a POP3, IMAP4 or hotmail plus account you can use Pocket X-Press for email push capability.
You can find informations here: www.pocketxpress.com
It is for WM2003 und WM5 devices with integrated GPRS/UMTS modem.

Distribution lists in Pocket Outlook?

Hi,
i have watched and searched this forum from to to bottom, but there is neither a question nor a solution for my question:
I am using the Qtek 9000 1.30 Rom with Aku2 and Exchange 2003 SP2 to manage my contact and emails.
So i created distriubrtion lists in Outloook. The Outlook Client as well as the the Outlook Web Access can show and use this DLs.
So my question: Is the pocket Outlook possible to view and use the Dls because I doesnt see the DLs in my contact list (like in OL) nor can use them by typing in the name (with the check name option)..also the SEARCH ONLINE option doesn't work..
Has anybody an idea to get this work??
Thanks

gmail mobile access application on wm5

Hi,
I have spv c500,which I upgraded to wm5.
I am wondering hot to run on it the gmail mobile access application?
What Java virtual machine do you recommend me to Install? I need Hebrew charset support (Just for reading). Is there any way to sync my calendar and contacts with gmail?
Thanks.
You have two options to read gmail:
1. Activate POP forwarding in your gmail, then setup your gmail as a regular POP email account.
2. Get an exchange account and then forward your gmail to it, and then setup activesync. Depending on where you get the account, you might get other features (like contact and calendar sync). mail2web.com is one place that offers free exchange accounts that work great; this is the setup I am using.
Sorry as to your Hebrew question; I do not know anything about that.
Hi
gmail have java application to sync wm5 with gmail.
you can find it in http://m.gmail.com/app
The problem is that I can't find an appropriate Java Virtual Machine for it.
