Hi guys...
Has anyone ever managed to get the Orange Backup/Restore tool into a cab for WM5 / WM6 / WM 6.1 phones?
It was very handy on my umpteeen swaps of c500 / c550's.... and would be invaluable for rom flashing and restoring your numbers.... let alone brilliant if you are away...lose your phone... and need your numbers....

Hi guys i had a xda from day one and got on really well with it.
so when i found a great deal on a spv m1000 (xda2 but orange branded) i jumped at it) but i do have a new newbie questions.
1/ Where can i download a mms composer? (also is there one for xda1? as my wife has that phone now)
2/ Is there any rom kitchens for the xda2? or special edition roms.
3/ i am still with o2 should i flash the new o2 rom to my orange spv m1000?
p.s i have unlocked it if that makes any diffrence
Sorry if these have been asked before.
Thanks in advance.
Max
also can i install this http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda_II/XdaIIRom.htm onto my spv m1000?
cheers
1) MMS on the XDA 1 has to be done through EZwap - This may already be on the phone if you have upgraded the ROM from a kitchen.
2) There are still a few functioning ROM kitchens where you can cook just what you need into a ROM check here http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
3) I would stay away from the O2 ROM - you will only want to remove it when you realise it is a waste of space. I would move totally to Orange if I was you.
PS I am looking to move to Orange - can you PM me the details of the deal you got.. Thanks.

thanks you have mail
, so can i use that rom from my last post? i was always happy with the o2 rom on my xda1 and this one offers everything i need
also i thought roms from that kitchen were for xda1 not xda2? do you flash in the same way?
cheers
The ROMS in that kitchen are definately for XDA, NOT the XDA II. I know of no kitchens or special ROMs for the 2 - some folks flash a ROM from another provider, but that's about as far as it goes.
thanks, so could i flash the uk o2 rom onto my orage spv m1000? the o2 rom would be better for me as i am on o2
thanks
Guys? anyone please !!!!!!
OK . . . I'll jump in, even though I have not had the need to do such a thing.
I would say that you certainly could do it. The only problem might be a country ID error. If so, there are many threads in this forum to help you past that one.
Best of luck!
hi all,
I have read carrefully and used the search button but no one is talking about making a backup rom of its original one.

thanx a lot

V1605 vodafone sfr (qtek 9600)
ROM 1.23.163.3
date de ROM 06/18/06
version de radio 1.06.00.00
version de proto 32.27.7010.01w
Use SPB Backup!
SPB Backup will NOT back up the ROM.
I also want to back up my original ROM so that I can roll back. This is necessary if you ever have to send you PocketPC back to the manufacturer any kind of reasons.
There is a way to dump ROM (see WiKi), but no a way to flash the dump back. So, the only "backup" currently is an official ROM update. There are a few in the WiKi as well.
Thanks for your input Lurker0.
What can you do with a dump ROM ? I mean can I do something with it ?
I have the WM5 emulator on my PC, can I dump my TyTN ROM and put it on my PC so that the PocketPC emulator behaves exactly like my HTC TyTN ?
I recently upgraded from wm5 to wm6.1. and my IPl/SPL are up graded to 3.08.
I have Slim 4.0 on my MDA right now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367375
and im wondering what other roms would i be able to do.
i want to use a Diamond Rom like this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400121
but im not sure if would work.
If someone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it.
thanks

Your phone is a wizard?? (mda vario) then look in the windows mobile 6 section of the wizard forums.
There is a diamond rom for the wizard in there im sure.
Well, you do know that the Slim 4.0 ROM IS indeed a Diamond based ROM right? The other Diamond ones are not very different from it.

Hi, all!
I really tried to find any help to back-up my mda for the first time, but all external links (e.g. dump my phone, or spb back up) are dead.
yesterday I bought from Olipro SIM unlock and Hard SPL software, so I want to back-up my ROM first, just for case.
please, could somebody help me, where to find some back-up program? TIA!!
ps: my mda compact V radio: 3.45.25.210, ROM version: 1.42.50454.
Just use PIM backup or M$ MyPhone as you will not be able to do a system restore to another ROM version.
