I searched and didn't find any previous postings regarding an issue with Parrot and Audi Hands Free (Bluetooth) car kits and the TyTn.
This issue is only with the TyTn and the Wizard devices work fine.
It seems to pair fine with the car kits but 5 minutes into usage...the TyTn turns the bluetooth off on the device.
Then about 1 min later, turns Bluetooth on again. The cycle then begins Off and then On ....
Here's a link on the Parrot forum.

I've got the same problem with my Seat Leon (new model) bluetooth carkit !!!
I think it's the same module as in the Audi (all VAG related cars).
It's very irritating !
I hope they will fix it soon....

Er... not followed as far as parrot (down for maintennance) BUT
I've found with my Seat Leon kit that the phone needs to remain in a fully powered state - you can't put it into the sleepy state by the power button otherwise you get the intermittent but eventually endless dingling of it connecting and disconnecting.
Best way I've found is to leave it on asking for a password with the cover on.
edit: Should just point out that you also need to turn off any power off settings - except for the backlight.

I'm going to try this !
I hope that it works.
Thanks anyway.
What kind of Leon do you have ?
I've got an A6 with BT kit and am having this problem. I cannot make/receive a call whilst running my BT GPS device & TomTom, although from reading this the issue may be the Audi kit anyhow.
Are there any fixes available - be it HTC or Audi? Or are there any work-arounds, such as add-on software for the TyTN??
Please help - it is driving me mad. Spoiling what is otherwise a great piece of kit.
I have been having this exact problem with my Audi A4 with Audi Bluetooth.
I did wonder if it was in some way connected with the phone going into sleepy mode as it is being powered by the phone battery.
Also, the bluetooth stops responding after 5-10 minutes, but if I am continously using the phone, it seems to be ok.
Therefore, I think I need to buy an in car charger, and see what happens...
Has anybody else tried this that can confirm it works?
Markee
Just a quick note to Paul_o
My Audi A4 / SPV M3100 / Tom Tom / Bluetooth GPS work fine together.
If I am in Tom Tom, and get an incoming call, the little call window pops up over Tom Tom, Tom Tom carries on and the phone audio is routed through the speakers - the only irritating thing is that the Tom Tom lady keeps interrupting...

Hi,
I'm using Vario 2 with Audi Bluetooth and also having the BT ON - BT OFF issues.
These are my findings.
- Without JETWARE software:
- BT goes ON and OFF in the car regardless of the VARIO 2 being on or stand-by, or the phone being battery powered or connected to the car.
- Once a conversation is started the BT connection seems to be remain ON.
- With JETWARE software
- If I leave the screen always on the BT connection stays always ON. Only backlight automatic switch-off is selected
- I have tried several screen toggle programs (which claim that they only power down the screen) but the BT goes OFF in the car after a few minutes.
I'm happy to test any other proposal.
Cheers,
C
What version of JetWare are you running, they have a beta which has settings for the Audi kit, this may help, there is also a registry setting that is meant to change the power settings when bt is connected. An extract from an email conversation with Jetware...
We have also addressed the power issue, but this fix requires a registry change. Please create a DWORD registry value in HKLM\Software\JETware\AGExt named InSessionPower with a value of 0 (valid values are 0-4, with lower values indicating greater power availability). This will tell the OS that the Bluetooth device should stay at full power while it is in a Hands-free session.
Not sure if this will help, my Hermes is ariving on Monday, I'm was hoping that all the problems i've had with my magicain and the audi kit would go away with the Hermes, but maybe not.
Give the key a go and let me know
Hi dh,
thanks for your reply.
I haven't installed the Beta version yet. However I have changed the registry setting and will test first thing tomorrow. If this doesn't fix the problem I will try the Beta version with the Audi setting.
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers,
Carles
Hi dh,
I have tested the two proposals (Change in the registry and the Beta version + Audi settings) without much luck. The BT connection with the car keeps going ON and OFF when the phone is running on battery.
Have you got your Hermes? any luck?
Thanks,
Carles
Got my Hermes (Orange M3100) a couple of days ago. I've installed the JetWare extention, and without the InSessionPower set the connection is dropped. So far with the setting applied it has stayed connected. I have had other problems like not being able to make calls etc, which is a bit of a issue. I need to do some more testing, as i've been messing with the phone a bit.
I'll update here in a couple of days
Must say i'm very disapointed with the phone regarding this. A couple of weeks ago i had a Wizard which worked flawlessly with the JetWare extention, no power issues, calls made and received without a single problem. I wonder what has changed with the bt implementation between the Wizard and the Hermes?
Hi dh,
You will see from my previous postings I have had the same problems too.
It should be noted, though, that the Vario (wizard) worked flawlessly with the Audi A4 Bluetooth without Jetware software.
Has anybody been able to prove there is no problems if the phone (SPVM3100) is powered whilst in the car?
Cheers

I have a factory fitted hands free system in my Vauxhall. Every other phone you can think of works with it...EXCEPT my XDA mini. It seems to pair up, but there is no signal showing from the carkit. It might work for a minute and then it drops out. Is it the XDA or Vauxhall that's at fault? It seems that nobody knows the answer and I paid serious money for this bit of car kit. I like the phone, it really is annoying. I have tried another XDA mini as well and that doesn't work either. Does anybody else have a Vauxhall with the same built-in system and not connecting?
Markee
I've had the phone plugged in without the registry entry and it seemed to be ok. If I can get to a stage of a working solution i'll test again without the registry entry and with external power.

I'm guessing that since they went from BT1.1 to BT2.0 they had to make a new stack.
My Wizard worked PERFECTLY on my Parrot, my TyTN is almost useless on it.
you make a very good point ScottC, that'll be what it is.
Just driven home and could not make a single call with Jetware installed. Removed it and i could at least make a call, but i didn't get any status info or phone book. I didn't get a chance to leave it connected without Jetware for longer enough to see if it disconnected without external power, i imagine it will. I will test some more later/tomorrow. I'll also send an email to Jetware to see what there thoughts are regarding bt v2.0 and their product
Hello,
I have an Audi A3 with the factory fitted Phone kit but without the Audi Craddle so I'm using the Bluetooth connection.
I have tried the Vario (Wizard/QTEK 9100) and Vario 2 (Hermes/TyTN) and had similar problems with the two of them. Once the connection is stablished I can make and receive calls without problems. The issue is that the BT connection goes ON and OFF without an apparent reason.
The only thing I have seen is that when the Vario is kept on (only the backlight is off) the BT connection normally stays ON, regardless of the phone being powered or not.
I have tried Jetware, the Beta version, the registry entry, programs to switch off the screen...but haven't seen any real difference.
I have bought a bluetooth USB stick and will do some test at home to see if the problem is with the car or the phone.
I called T-mobile and they said it was a faulty phone, but I don't think so.
Keep the postings, we might end up finding a solution
Cheers

Try upgrade the BT software. I had the same problem after that i upgraded de Parrot software. Now i have the version 4.16
hi.. i hve a skoda, octavia 2, it has factory installed bluetooth car kit, i can easily connect my Herms , but it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every few minutes, I tried to upgared to WM6 and its same, I cange my bluetooth control unit at Skoda , and its same. the car kit works fine on any other phones like Nokia or SE. the problem is only with HTC devices. any idea ?
not a single reply !!!
This is a common problem with the TyTn, there are plenty of other threads here with exactly the same problem. I have a Parrot C3000 Evolution car kit and am using a LVSW WM6 ROM (see sig) which works most of the time (better than other ROMs in my experience) - although I experience the following all the time;
Bluetooth turns itself off (on the TyTn)
Bluetooth is on, but the phone won't connect to the car kit
Connection to the car kit gets lost after making a call
Connection to the car kit gets lost when dialling a number
In most cases going to connection manager and turning bluetooth off then on usually works, sometimes (rarely) I have to soft reset the phone and once in a while I have to soft reset the phone and the car(!). When it does all connect it works very well, I also use MS Voice Command and with the various fixes applied I get announcements, voice dialing etc. all working perfectly.
My problems with bluetooth are limited to the car kit though, I also have a TomTom bluetooth GPS dongle which works perfect all the time.
thanks forza
thanks a lot, at least I don't feel lonley with my problem.
i found this, which works great with my car kit.
www.jetwaremobile.com it costs, but there is a 30 day trial to see if it will work with your car kit.

Hi.
I am having problems with the mute and communication with a Parrot CK3100 handsfree. Either it doesn't mute the car music equipment nor receives the voice from the Niki, sometimes both sympthoms at the same time. Any idea about the reason?. I have upgraded the Parrot version to the latest one.
Thanks for the help.
There is know problem with Parrot handsfree and touch. I had a problem with htc touch dual and parrot MK6000. After contact with parrot support I got sollution. It works know. If you are stil looking for fix let me know I can search the link I got.
In short you doe following (remove first all pairings betwee your parrot and touch):
1. pair with some other bluethooth phone (I used nokia 6230).
2 disconnect first phone (shoot down bluethooth).
3. now pair with your touch.
Seems very rear but it works wel.
We have the CK3100 running the latest firmware.
The only problems we have had is the occasional ghost call when starting the car.
The kit will just say Call in progress, but nothing on the phone and it is not actually dialing.
A reboot of the phone fixes it.
I also have the same issue with My Kaiser witht he 3100 and the 3400 GPS in my car.
Same problem for me with parrot rytm'n blue
i'll try this solution...pairing with other model....
Thanks for the answers, will follow asmanm recomendations to see if it works and post results (fingers crossed...)

Hi.
IT WORKS with some restrictions!!
What I did:
1) I paired my old but reliable Nokia 6310i with the Parrot CK3100.
2) Switched off the Nokia BT.
3) Paired the HTC Dual and done.
Problems:
1) I got the ghost call when I enter into the car but after some minutes dissapears.
2) Sometimes gets crazy and hungs, mainly when I dial from the Parrot. If you dial from the phone, then no problems.
Hope it helps.

Hi .. I use the Dual with both CK3100 and LS3200. It works flawlessly. At first I had same issue with a ghost call just after connection: I solved it completely just activating the flag under [programs] --> SAP Settings.
problem with minikit
Hi all,
I have a problem with the dual touch and the parrot minikit.
- the connection between the two devices is ok
- when I'm called or I call someone, I hear very well my correspondants but they don't hear me, I have to use the mute mode and use my phone to continue the discussion.
I have already tested the solution purposed on this thread but it doesn't work aith my dual touch

same prob here
got touch dual w mk6100
it doesnt work pretty good.
the ghost call happens once in a while, but can be repaired w a call and hung. its fast.
sometimes i can hear some interferences when listening to music.
to make better calls i prefer to use the voice dialing from the dual. pressing the green button on remote control mk6100 starts the voice dialing in the dual. didnt try the mk6100 though.
it is very important the parrot disconect, i had some issues coz it didnt say "bye", pretty stupid but it is important.
i still have some issues w the 100ms stop music. (music stops every now and then for less than a second)
i gotta say they dont hear me pretty good. dont know why yet.
till searching on satparrot.com
I too am having trouble connecting with CK3100.
emailed HTC Australia who were less than helpful, with this :-
"Bluetooth should be universal or is marketed as universal although it is far
from the truth. Certain chipsets conflict or are incompatible with others. If a
device is not fully compatible it will not offer all features or possibly not
connect at all.
This is hardware related and not a software issue. This will not be effected by future update for the handset."
Parrot were more use, with this :-
"Hello sir ,
Indeed we notice several compatibility issues with ck3100 and htc touch dual
That's why we haven't listed this phone in our compatibilty list
Our technical engineers are currently on this issue inorder to find the solutions , when it be solved this phone will be listed at this adress below :
http://www.parrot.com/documents/en/support/ck3100_notes_new.txt
Moreover we have several feedbacks from our clients , who informed us that windows mobile 6 works better with ck 31OO software version
4.15
if you are intrested you can use 4.15 software version which is in enclosed mail"
Will try when I have time.

2 disconnect first phone (shoot down bluethooth);means:leave other phone pair on kit car parrot but turn off the bluetooth on other device or what else....:
1)switch the connection from Other device to HTC Dual (leaving the connection beetwin kit car parrot and other device )
2)Remove the connection pair between other device and Parrot
3. now pair with your touch.(ok done)

Does any one have one of these bluetooth car kits and if so does the HD pair successfully?
Yes works not problem with mine - much better that with my tytn ii. calls fine both from parrot & phone answer and hang up & contacts all OK.
you should try the THB CC9060
works very well with my HD and you can A2DP the music to the audio input of the ICE

I have S2U2 installed, and use a Parrot CK3100 Kit, and have no problems whatsoever making or receiving calls! I've used several WM devices on the same kit and never had a problem!
Hi,
I have a parrot and I also do not have any connection at all. The parrot keeps asking me for a password.
I have read that you can update the parrot device with bluetooth, so I will try it and I will let you know...
Yes S2U2 installed and no problems, if you have never updated the firmware on the parrot it may be worth looking at that, I had to upgrade it when using my tytn ii as it kept dropping - after the upgrade problems disappeared.
I have 3100,HD and S2U2 and no problem at all.
But I updated to the last rom of Parrot's hads free (look for in his web).
It has few improvements, one of the with WM phones and an other one, very important for me is the possibility to increase the characters cize (for the contacts) in the screen (they were too small before).
Try it
Yup, I have an HD with S2U2 and no problems.
I updated the firmware of the CK3100 about a year ago. When was the last firmware update released?
I have a Parrot 3200 in my car and it took several attempts to get it to hook up. Used to have a 3100 in the wifes previous car - IIRC my diamond took a few goes hooking up to that also (the p/w is 1234 for those IIRC) I found that after an unsuccessful attempt, a soft reset then try again and it worked first time - might be worth a shot?

Has anyone used the VCF creator?

Hi All,
For just over a year now, I used my TyTN 2 with my Parrot CK3100 bluetooth carkit with no worries.
Last week I got my Touch HD (woah - what an upgrade), and cannot get it to pair with the parrot.
On the parrot and TyTN 2 I would select a windows CE device on the parrot and hit it. 60 seconds later all was good to go.
With the Touch HD, I cannot get it to pair. The Touch HD picks up the parrot, I select it, and it begins to pair. At that moment, the Parrot says "Pairing failed" and that is that. I can reboot, fiddle, try other devices on the Parrot etc... and nada. Just won't work.
Any ideas people?
TIA
Hey
I have it paired with my parrot so if defo works, one thing to try is updating the parrot as I did this about 3 months to get it working with my n95 8gb.
Sully
Thx man. I actually thought that just after I posted. I last updated the Parrot about a year ago. I hope it works. I struggled today having to pick-up the damned phone to speak to people
where can you update your parrott?
Go here: http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/downloads
Download the update tool and whichever PDF relative to how you will do it.
Use the tool to download the latest firmware.
I use my notebook and bluetooth connection to connect to the parrot and do the update. Is very simple, and quick.
Okay, updated the CK3100 to latest firmware. No change. My Touch HD is listed in the paired devices list, but pairing fails everytime when trying to connect.
I am not using the stock ROM on the Touch HD though. I am running Dutty's 2.1 Extreme ROM. Think this could be the problem? Debating re-loading the stock ROM to see if it makes a difference.
Dominion,
Sorry I cannot help, but I am very interested in any future input, since I was about to order a Parrot ck3100 TODAY
This coincidence may save me from ordering the wrong kit. I hope you can sort out yours.
Thanks
I absolutely have to get this working. I have become dependant on the CK3100, so will persevere. As soon as I have a working result I will post my findings and solution.
I am busy re-loading the stock WWE ROM on my Touch HD right now, then will try again. If that won't work (gut says it will though), then I have to dig into the dark hidden spaces of Google Failure not an option here. I have to find a way to get it to work.
Okay people... Feedback... All sorted!! YAY.
Touch HD Rom: RUU_BlackStone_HKCSL_WWE_1.19.831.0_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14_Ship.exe
Can find it on the wiki.
CK3100 Firware version 4.18b (latest as of today).
I would suspect my problem was Dutty's ROM as the CK3100 would indicate "Failed" as soon as a connect was made, then the Touch HD which just hang there. I would have to hard reboot. This happened on my year old CK3100 firmware and the latest.
With the WWE Stock ROM I just re-loaded, the CK3100 said "Failed" as the connection was made, but the Touch HD progressed to prompt me for the "1234" code. I entered it, and the two paired 100%. Took 30 seconds from start to finish.
So go out and get your CK3100 SwissRV

Ah, but what if you want a CK3100 and like Duttys V2.1 Xtreme??
That is my dilemma. I have always used Dutty's ROM's on each of my HTC phones.
It is sad to not be able to use it, but I would rather have hands free in my car than a custom ROM - as awesome as it is.
Hopefully Dutty can fix it, then we can have the best of both worlds
With Dutty's ROM, my Garmin Mobile XT would fix so damn quick. It was unbelievable how fast it was ready to navigate. With the stock ROM, I am back to waiting, waiting, waiting... Need to find a radio upgrade to go with the stock ROM.
Thanks Dominion, I just ordered after reading that the "normal" ROM works.
My stock Telstra T8285 ROM would not work with my Parrot car kit. It got as far as entering the code (1234) during pairing, however it fails to pair after that.
So, I flashed Dutty's latest ROM, and I still have exactly the same problem this morning.
I am going to try the Parrot firmware next.. I will let you all know if it works.
Hi,
I have the parrot 9100 and it works like a charm with dutty 3.9. This should be the same for the 3100.
Instead of connecting the phone via the car kit you can try to connect it via the phone. Go to advanced bluetooth settings and add a bluetooth device. This worked for me. Parrot rules
Do I have to mention that the car kit has to be visible then ;-)
My HD works fine with my Parrot CK-3100. I´ve stock spanish 1.14 rom. No problem. Update parrot firmware and must work it..

Quality problems with HD and CK3100
I have a Touch HD (Orange unlocked) ROM 1.09.25.14. I have reported sound quality problem to Parrot UK who recommended latest f/w (4.19) which I installed. I still have poor audio quality on most calls (unintelligable sometimes), but OK on handset if call transferred back to it. I tried a Sony Ericsson phone which worked fine on CK3100. It appears to be an HD bluetooth issue. Anyone got an ideas?
