What does the headset button do in normal use?
When you've got no calls, does it do anything? When you're in a call - does it mute or something else?

Or something else: It hangs up.
By pressing the button on a headset (bluetooth and cable) you can answer an incoming call and end any (incoming and outgoing) call, that's all (= that seems to be all you can do with this button).
I'm also disapointed that you can't start voicedialing with a headset, not with Bluetooth one and even not with a cable headset...

Not realy! Somebody found a way to start the voice dialing application by pressing the button on a Bluetooth headset, but the app is still using the internal microphon of the device, not the micro of the headset, so most of the time trying to dial will fail. If this will also be the same when starting the app via a cable headset...

Hi mates, actualy i found this:
-Cyberon voice command use the record button to start, but you can do another trick:
1-Install the latest spb pocket plus
2-Choose one of the tabs (lets say MAIN) and click add items
3-Choose custom and at the botton left click add/file and then browse the windows folder and choose "sddialer.exe"
4-Now you can start cyveron voice command from your selected tab on the touch screen.
All we need now is some one that can find a way to point the "head set button" to this new shortcut.

That's true vijay, but all of us know that you are brilliant like anothers good programers.
Cheers mate.
I have some ideas for it. It's on my "under consideration" list. But I've never used my headset, so could take a while. What does the headset do in normal use? When not in a phone call, it doesn't do anything in any other app? When in a call, it toggles the phone?
V
vijay , some post before mine, joehorn gave you the answers, it is doing nothing.
It use is: on receiving a call, click and you pick up the call and start talking.
When you want to finish that call, just click again and it is finished.
Perhaps during the conversation, if you hold down for more than 2 to 5 seconds, it will hold the call, like mute, and then do it again and you carry on with that conversation.
Hope this will help.
User22: very useful. Apologies for not seeing post above, I thought it was about bluetooth. I'll have an R&D on it. But I'm sure someone else will write this soon.

Well, like we say here " we will wait for yours notices like rain water in may"
Don't give up mate, you can do it.
vijay one more thing: when you plug your head set, the device knows that it is plugged and you can set it to autoanswer after 1 to 5 rings, maybe by this way you can investigate ¿?.
ok. in normal use the headset play´s music or other stuff. so i would like to start voice command for stop the music or play forward.
Using the cable headphone button to launch Voice Command
Hi, Has anyone managed to crack this problem of using the cable headset button to launch VC, or do I have to invest in a BT stereo headset to play my MP3s on the move?
Any ideas would be welcome...

Phone automatically dials with headphones

Hi all,
Not sure why this happens but when I have my adapter (eBay link: http://tinyurl.com/l9maca) plugged into my car (phone<->mini-jack cable<->adapter<->car stereo) I either have voice dial launch automatically or the phone dialing the last number in call history. The voice dial isn't too bad since it launches and idles but the redial is really annoying. The headphones it came with did that too after a lot of wear and tear. Any know what causes it?? Is there a pin in the plug that I need to ground/disable? I would like to enjoy my music going without having to frantically grab my phone and hammer on the end call button while I'm driving.
Thanks.
holy crap i have the same problem with my phone, i dont have a car adapter but the headset thing is really annoying, i dont have the problem solved though....just figured i need to get a new pair of headphones which i havnt got around doing it
i have the same problem when i use headphones and i'am using them on my motocycle althought i lock the touchscreen, not even aplications like pocketshield didn't solve the problem. i hope that someone will come up with a solution that just disable the redial double tap function of the headset button or speed dial hold function. this functions also unlocks the touchscreen.

Headphones autodials number?

Hey all,
Bit of an issue. Whenever I have my headphones connected to the jack in my touch, it will randomly dial the last number that I dialed. This happens if I am listening to music or I have the phone locked and have the phone in my pocket. The result obviously is annoying as I will repeatedly dial someone 20 or more times before I realize what is happening.
This just started happening recently, I have had the phone for about a year now. I can wiggle the headphones in the jack and it will autodial the last number. Only happens when the phones are in.
Somehow it triggering the dial function/mechanism Do I need new headphones? Is there a short somewhere in the phone? Maybe it is triggering the green button internally to dial? Can I disable the green button?
Thanks in advance
The issue has gotta do with the button of the headset. (The button refers to the microphone part of the headset, where you can pick up phone easily).
You can download a program to change the function of the button of the headset.
Thanks jeremy. Any idea what this program is called or where i can find it?

Heh Heh, see the results and play it with yourself!

Random Dialing when Headphones Plugged in?

A friend of mine has just got an HD2 on t-mobile, He bought some sennheiser cx500's. He said when you plug them in the phone keeps randomly dialing out to the last person you called. I was sceptical but he showed me and it is true, I have some CX500's myself and not experienced any issues but I haven't used them much. I tried his pair and it did dial out once, but then couldn't get it to do it again.
Has anyone else had any wierd experiences with headphones?
Cheers
Call last number is linked to a double click of the headphones button. I can only assume he has a loose connection somewhere, that when it shorts out twice in a row makes the phone think he's double clicked the headset button.
I use a pair of V-Moda headphones and like you have never had this problem.
Thanks, do you know if there is a way of disabling the double click option?

No, I don't often use that setup, so I thought I touched the screen by accident. But now I see it's indeed a bug somewhere in the setup.

[Q] Samsung S4 No voice during call

Hi, All.
I have a Samsung S4 and from day 1 I have had this call problem.
When I make or receive calls, the person on the other end cannot hear my voice at all. I have disabled noise reduction both in the settings menu and have toggled it on/off during the call.
Now, I've done a few tests.
1) During calls the other person can hear noises that I simulate such as tapping on the table or tapping on the phone. I tested both the top (for noise cancellation?) microphone and lower microphone and the tapping noise is definitely louder on the lower microphone.
2) Voice works perfectly when using my headset. (Not a network issue)
3) Tested voice recording and it works fine. I spoke on the top of the phone and bottom of the phone (to see if it receives noise on the top microphone) and the voice is definitely louder when voice is coming from the bottom of the phone.
4) Voice command works fine.
5) Calls work find during speaker mode.
Now all I can think of is that this is a problem with my setting or this is a software issue.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks,

So I've factory reset my phone.
Results are I can now BARELY hear my voice SOMETIMES.
Like for example I try speaking in a completely silent environment, they only way the caller hears my garbled up voice is when I cup to phone my mouth.
This even won't work if I turn on the noise reduction feature.
So I'm guessing there is still some noise reduction feature on apart from what we can activate/deactivate during the call and in the settings menu.
Is my voice that ugly that it's now considered to be noise!? I've been told that I have a radio voice
