Hello Everyone,
I am new to the board and I have been searching for an answer to a problem with WM5 that I cannot find. We use our devices, I-Mate JasJar's and I-Mate K-Jam's, to receive Pushed email, Text messages, phone calls...etc.
One of the main featues that I need, although small, is to be able to set WM5 notifications for new text messages or emails to repeat. The setting is subdued, whereas some other notifications give you the option to repeat the alert. I feel like this should be up to the user to decide whether to use it or not...no microsoft...:x
Anyway, is this a possible registry hack or an update that i don't know about?
Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
this is killing me
I have tried everything I can think of...i downloaded a registry editor and modified the registry under notifications under HKCU...i was able to make the "Repeat" function available for use for a NEw Text Message...but it wouldn't repeat...nothing i did would make it repeat...this sux..
Anybody have any ideas yet....thanks...
Yes! It's crazy that you can't set notifications to repeat and "bug" you! My wife's Motorola V3 RAZR phone does this for every text message / voice mail. Very annoying - but also very useful!
PocketMax "phoneAlarm does exactly what you want. An official version for WM5 is not quite ready, but there is a beta version which seems to work, hidden away in the support forums:
http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?board=22.0
Hope this helps!
Hi,
I've tried to answer this question with the help of several sites, but nobody seems to be able to help me (or am I looking at the wrong place?)
When I send an SMS-message, I get a notification when the actual message has been sent. I would like to stop this service, but I can't find the option. I've checked the registry, but I'm not really good at that stuff...
Please help me out...

Is there any add on for the Exec that will allow me to have a different notification sound for a Delivery Confirmation text (marked as from System Administrator on Vodafone).
I like to get a confirmation back but I only want a very short sound for it, not the normal notify sound I get with a normal text message!
Any ideas?

Don't know if this will work - but I noticed the other day that you can assign ringtones to specific contacts (I think) - maybe you could set up the SysAdmin as a contact with a short ringtone - I don't know if that would work for texts. (I've not tried it at all).
No, this only works for Ringtones, not Notifications from text messages.
where are all the default sounds for text notifications kept?
Mortring does the job. Search in the google for it. I'm using and an can assigne diferent rings for instance for notifications.
Best regards,
Aprt

Ive heard of Mortring, but can you tell me if it will allow a ringtone based not on a number but on a named string, as the test I get back for delivery confirmation doesnt have a number associated with it, it has the words "System Administrator" on it, no number at all.
Well i think not, because the one thing the app can do is to apply a ringtone to an unidentified contact, contact with no categories defined, by categories. The same for text messages.
So basically it functions using the number and the string used by the appz is the number.
Here is the topic made by the author of the program and you can ask him.

Greetings,

Thank you for that, im greatful
Thought I'd tag on this thread.
I have just got two phones, on each for me and the good lady. She wants to know if there is a way of it reminding her that she has a text - currently the phone makes a noise once and then unless you open it up to check, you have no idea if you have a text.
Her old phone used to make a tone every few minutes if she had a text.
I can't see any settings in the phone to do this. Are there any apps out there that would fit the bill ?
Any advice greatfully received.

I don't know any apps, but you can go to Start>Settings>Personal> Sound and Notifications>Notifications>New Text Messages and check the "Flash light for NO LIMIT". This will ensure if you receive any text msgs that the indicator light will flash orange if you have any text message and it will only disappear after you dismiss or read it.

Phone Alarm from http://www.pocketmax.net/ will do this, and a lot more besides.
As for my problem, Mortring doesnt seem WM5 compatible - Oh well
I was going to say
You could read http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9736&highlight=vibrate+play+registry
and have a play. Let us all know if you get it to work.

but then I thought I'd have a look myself. Looking at the registry, text message notification is in notifications not sounds. Anyone know what the options are in HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications/*/Options are ?
K.
does anyone know of a good missed call/sms/email program for the mda
theres a really good program that replies to missed calls with a text message, the contents of which you get to chose and it can append the next free slot from your calendar too, so people can see when you'll be free to call them back.
I'm trying to install it myself, but unfortunately I can't remember the name and the search function isn't turning up much!
Anyone any ideas??
Cheers.
I think its called SMS Notifier
Look no father than PhoneAlarm or PhoneAlarm Lite. This is really good stuff and totally skinnable--fun to make your own custom buttons.
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.htm
Yes, it is called SMS Nitifier. Ironically my 7th search, which led me to this thread also got me the thread for SMS notifier, but further down the list. All installed now and working pretty well, only problems with it are that it sends every message twice (not really an issue on my flext tariff, just a bit annoying) and it DKNotify doesn't record the messages it sends in its message log, but you can't have everything can u!
Actually, after reading the whole fo that thread I realised I didn't have the latest version installed, all seems to work now.
Hi all,
I've had a search for this but can't find any solutions.
Unless i'm being really stupid I xcan't find a way to make my XDA mini S count only OUTGOING calls. Basically, I get 100 free minutes a month and currently have no idea how many I am using. The only thing I can get the phone to count is a total of in and outgoing calls which is utterly useless.
Any suggestions?
Alex
DkToday is the app you need, it counts outgoing calls and sms. You can set the date you want to roll-over as well ( my minutes are round up and charged to me every 11th of the month.) I'll attach two files here. First install version 1.69, then replace with the dll in version 1.80. good luck!
Where's the setting options in dktoday?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Go to start-settings-today-items and tap the DKToday Plug-in. Then select options on the right side of the plug-in list, and the options menu pops-up.
When you say replace the DLL do you mean simply install the older version then copy and paste the new version into the install location?
Many thanks
Yes. If I remember correctly, the 1.80 cab only contains the .dll file and not the complete program. Simply installing the 1.80 cab should work, but not without having 1.69 installed first. So simply install version 1.69 and then install 1.80 over the old version.
Ah brill, have got it working. So if i tap on the phone icon is it meant to take me to missed calls? It doesn't seem to wor. The bluetooth one does. And what is the bar in the top right? battery? Is there a way to turn that off?
Downloaded this but cannot install on the Wizard.
Two files nether of which will install.
00CAB2BE.001
0DKTODAY.000
How do I get this on ?
the bar in the top right is a signal strength indicator, it shows you how strong your signal to the nearest GSM transmitter is, like the phone icon in the top bar. Clicking on it turns your screen off. Tapping on the phone symbol only works when you have a missed call. It then pops-up a screen, asking you if you want to call back the number you have not answered. It will not take you to the missed call section like the dialer does when you press the calls button there.
Disabling some lines in the plug-in can be done in options, by selecting which lines ( 1, 2 or 3) it should show.
@Nikko2: copy the cab files to your device using Active Sync or Explorer, than execute them from there, first 1.69, then 1.80. Choose Device as install location and it should work.
It doesn't count the sms. I have 150 and it comes out 000
Same here. App is not counting the text messages.
It first starts counting when you recieve an SMS. The only problem i have with that is that it counts my deliverynotifications as well. So it allways counts +1 when i sent a sms and get the notification. It doesn´t count how many sms you have in your inbox

Problem is, mine doesn't count in or out going sms. at all.
DKToday only counts sms delivery notifications. Be sure to turn that on. When you type a new message, go to menu-options and check the box. When the delivery notification is received by your phone, the app counts 1 sent sms. There is a way to turn these delivery notifications permanently on. I have posted this in a similar thread and it is also posted in the original thread on this program. use the search.
Be sure to verify if your provider charges you for these notifications, because some do. In Holland these notifications are free of charge, but that does not always go for other countries, so be sure to check this to avoid nasty surprises on your bill.

dktoday seems to make my wizard/cingular8125 run really slow. Anyone else notice this?
What happens if you don't install 169 before 180?

Is it available in englis. Google only turned up german versions. I'd hate to have to learn another language just to track my SMS.

You may be right - I didn't know that...
But the program is very simple - I am sure you won't have a problem. I will email the developer and contact you in case he decides to make an english version - it can't be a big deal to translate the few menus...
