I have tried several attempts to get my Cingular 8525 out of bootloader. I have tried multiple ROMS, various steps, and have even used the guides found in these forums.
Here is my information as it is seen on the screen.
HERM100
IPL-1.03
HERM100
SPL-1.11
Serial - Once plugged in to PC it reads "USB"
Can anyone point me in the right direction to the correct ROM/guide, or give me a short guide as to what i need to do to get this thing "unstuck"?
Thanks so much in advance for your help.
Did you try the SD card way? format sd card to fat 32 instal .nbh of rom choice and rename to hermeimg.nbh on card put it in phone. if already in bootloader SHOULD automatically reflash os. HARD SPL YOUR DEVICE IMMEDIATELY IF THIS WORKS. Do a search on forum for hard spl. should've been the second tyhing you did AFTEr reading about flashing. Good luck.
sorry, should be "hermimg.nbh" not as above.

Hi,
I'm kind of new around here.
My problem is as follows:
- TyTN running PaysRom for about 9 months
- Started to get very sluggish
- Unable to get signal
When i booted my HTC the 'R' and 'G' that appear on screen and used to have values in front of it now display 'none'.
So, I connected it to my PC, 'activesynced' it and tryed to install a new ROM, hoping it would solve the problem.
But the new ROM wasn't installed sucessfully and now all I got is a brick.
I can't even connect it to ActiveSync since it's not recognized.
Is there any solution to my problem?
TIA,
hype
Can you get to the Bootloader?
Yes..
By pressing the Ok+Power+Reset on the bottom button, I see the 'RGB'+white thingie, that I believe is the bootloader..
What SPL do you have? Is it Hard SPL V7(2.10)?
If it is, use the sd card method to install a new ROM.
remember to backup your card 1st.
1. Format 2Gb or less sd card FAT32. Copy .nbh file of the ROM you want onto it and rename to hermimg.nbh .
2. Insert card into Hermes and reset into bootloader.
3. If all things have been done right, follow the prompts....
If the radio ROM has died, I'd suggest trying to flash the Shipped Stock ROM 1st and see if that actually fixes the problem with the blank values on R & G. WM06 upgrade of shipped carrier ROM should also work.
Cheers...
Tks for your response.
I tryed the SD Card method already, with no sucess.
The red stripe shows as follows:
Code:
HERM200
IPL-1.04
HERM200
SPL-2.03
Everytime I tryed on another ROM I always perfomed it using SafeSPL.
Since I don't have 2.1, what can I do?
Tks for all ur help.
What happens when you try and flash a ROM over?
Do you get any kind of error?
You need to find the SHIPPED STOCK ROM. WM06 upgrade should be OK as the CID should match.
Put Hermes into bootloader and connect to PC after unticking "Allow USB Connections" in Activesyncs settings on the PC.
Run the RUU_Wrapper.exe file of the SHIPPED STOCK ROM. ven though activesync won't etect it, the flash file should. Follow the prompts.
Good luck as this seems to be the only way to fix this.
Good Luck...
You might be able to flash a Stock WM5 ROM using the SD Card method. Worked for me when I had SPL 2.03. In fact that's the only ROM it would let me flash over when mine bricked.
I was attempting to unlock the GPS on my XV6900 after installing the official Verizon WM 6.1 update, following the instructions on the PPC Haven wiki here: http://wiki.ppchaven.com/index.php?title=Pocket_PC_WIki:FIX_VERIZON_GPS.
I got through the unlocking with 0.40 coke and was flashing 'Flash Sprint ROM RUU_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_1.12.651.1_2.13.00_SPC_NV133_Ship'.
At 13% completete the usb cable was disconnected. I'm now stuck on the rainbow screen with the following info displayed:
VOGU100
SPL-0.36.0000
CPLD-3
'RUUNBH' is displayed in the upper right hand corner.
I tried to reflash the sprint ROM and unlocking with 0.40 coke again without any success. My laptop does not recognize the device when connected via usb, so active sync is also not working.
So this is my last hope. Is there anyone out there who can help out a noob, or did I damage my phone beyond repair?
Thanks in advance for your help. I did a search before posting, but didn't come across the answer. Sorry if I missed it
Anyone? Is it bricked?
you could try this out, if you have a microSD (non HD, wich mean, 2go or less)
1. Download NSFAN's latest Sprint WM6.1 Rom and extract to desktop
2. Rename ROMFILE.nbh to voguimg.nbh
3. Copy voguimg.nbh to MicroSD card that has been formatted to FAT32
4. Insert MicroSD card in phone, and enter bootloader via holding down the Power/Camera/Reset buttons all together.
5. Flash ROM
6. Hard Reset Phone
Good luck!
try the sprint rom with the RUU, even tho it says you need an active sync connection as long as the phone says USB at the bottom of the bootloader screen you can start the update
same happened to me when updating the official verizon 6.1, i took the battery out for like 20 mins and then retried and worked.
Can anyone help me?
I was flashing back to stock SPL, using sd card, and pulled the sd card out while it was flashing (don't ask, I seemed to forget for a moment what I was doing and realized I needed my card for my other phone) Now, I have the stock SPL, shows PANT200 SPL-0.36.0000 CPLD-2 when phone starts, and says "Upgrade ROM code error Please Try Again". But, if I put my sd card in it with PANTIMG.nbh SPL file, then I get a screen that says "Loading...". And that's it, left it like that forever it seems and no change.
Any idea? It won't connect to the computer so I can't flash from computer. Even QPST won't find it.
FWIW: I do kinda know what I am doing. Unlocked mine and wife's Treo Pros with Cmonex hard spl, and flashed several ROMs, including a couple I cooked with NightRaven's kitchen. I was just going back to stock cause my wife doesn't like changes, and now this happened.
TIA,
Malachi
OK, thanks to cmonex I got this working again. Had to connect to mtty and run: set 16 0.
Did that and soft reset, and Voila! my Pro works again..
Thanks Cmonex!!!!
Out of curiosity:
I need to revert to the original stock spl as well. Have not found a way yet...Could you offer me some guidance.
Thanks.
Hello community,
unfortunately i need some advice. I
After Flashing my Herald (CID locked by "Vodafone"; IPL 4.17.0001; SPL 4.10.000) second or third time with a different ROM it stucks at famous bootloader (red, green, blue coloured screen). No chance to boot, Hard reset without any other result. Just that bootloader screen. Biggest Problem is, that i do not have the original vodafone-ROM, that could fix the defect. So i have to install HardSPL to use another ROM, but how – connection to ActiveSync not possible with only bootloader active.
Flashing HardSPL via SD-card fails, maybe my fault... I took the .nbh-file of HardSPL7/HardSPL9, renamed it to HERMIMG.nbh and copied it to 2GB FAT32-formatted SD-card. Inserted SD-card in device, activated bootloader-mode again (even if i think it is permanently active) with pressing camera-button, hitting soft-rest with pen while pressing mentioned button. The device checks for SD but does not recognize the file.
I also experimented with MTTY, but without any result. "Goldcard"-thing not possible for me, because a second WM-device id needed.
A solution out of reach for me. What do you think?
THANK YOU!
Ulf
Administrator, please move this thread to correct section. I think i am wrong here...
THANK YOU!
I think, it should work without active sync, too.
The Herald restarts in bootloader-mode everytime you flash something new. Sometimes you can see the bootloadermode in such cases.
Try to connect the herald in bootloader-mode with your pc. It should show you a usb connection. In this case you can HardSPL your Herald.
Here you can find your shipped Vodafone-Rom.
