Hi there,
I have iGO 6 installed on my Athena and it works fine with lower resolutions. However when I change resolution to 128dpi or higher with RealVGA software, it doesn't work properly. The screen goes crazy (buttons relocated, non responding half screen etc). Does anyone know why and can you suggest any solutions?
thanx in advance

try searching! Eaglesteve has sorted this.
OK - so you can't actually find using search - nor can I.

I'm a long-time fan of NavNGo's iGo navigation solution, and since yesterday also a happy owner of an X1. However, these two are currently not on speaking terms with each other. Installation seems to work fine, but clicking the application icon results in, well, nothing.
Searching the net in general and this forum in particular has shown me that this has been a problem with a number of HTC devices. I have tried a couple of the proposed solutions for some of them, but none have worked so far. Has anyone managed to get iGo 8 (or, for that matter, 2006 - I have both) running on the X1 and, if so, how? Any help would be appreciated.
did you update to the latest version with the contentmanager? also try to disable agps on your x1 and try again, but what also can happen is that it dont likes the WVGA Resolution for that i dont have an solution.

Using latest version. I read in other forums about disabling agps, but saw other posts claiming that was not necessary with the latest version. Either way, if I'd want to try it, how do I disable agps?
I think what you have to do is find a skins that is wvga compatible for it. I've been looking all over the net to find one, but I cant. I'm sure this is the problem.

I've seen this site before, but when you look at the included resolutions in the folders they only have 400x240.
Download the skin with 400x240 resolution and modify the sys.txt to include the following lines
[interface]
resolution_dir="400_240"
vga=1

Thanks! I was wondering this whole time why they were all 400x240!

well.. Did it work?
I'm also a fan of iGO8 and I'm getting my X1 tomorrow.
So I really hope it works ok.
one thing you could try is to add the sys.txt lines without using the skin. Does the original skin resize if you do that?

Oh sorry for the mix up, I've basically been preparing all my software that I was using on my omnia to use on my X1 that I will get in a few days, So I won't be able to test this yet, but I believe that the skin was the only think that would've been a problem on the x1, but now it's solved. If it doesn't work even with the skin, I have tomtom7 that I know works on the x1 (according to other owners). But I can't wait to have mine!!!

Hi to everybody,
I thought about using the Garmin, but if the Igo could be used on the X1 it would be better still.
Do you have novelty?
Thanks
message deleted.....
This is NOT a warez question.
My last post was deleted by the moderator Gsleon3 with this reason, (see below).
I think that the question is totaly in order and Im sending the same message as I sent to Navngo.
Hi,
I recently bought my self a new phone with built in GPS, (SonyEricsson Xperia).
I have had TomTom for years on my phones before but was really disappointed by their way of handling longtime customers regarding the possibilities to upgrade maps or the program. I was told to upgrade to a price the same as buying a new licens which I think is very unthankful when I have been a customer for 5 years and upgraded two times before.
I have read a lot of good reviews on the web about your product iGO8 and would like to know if it’s possible to run it on the WVGA resolution of my new Xperia.
Please let me know because I want to buy a navigation program as soon as possible.
I have seen sites regarding changing skins for iGO, if I buy the software, would that mean that I’m not allowed to modify the look of the program?
Best regards,
Miki

Being as this is an issue only on CRACKED & HACKED versions of NavNGo IGo8, your thread has been removed. We do NOT tolertate warez or piracy here at XDA-Developers. Warez or Piracy related posts are grounds for review & usually result in a one week or greater ban, even for first offenses.
This is a warning. Do NOT discuss warez related versions, hacks, fixes, etc... on XDA. Go elsewhere for that. You are probably asking your question here because the site you got your warez version from is shut down. Well guess what? It is shut down thanks to NavNgo & Igo8.
Where is the problem. Shure, you can run IGO8 on Xperia. You have a Card Slot and you can run IGO8 with the original skin. If you not like it, you find many skins in the web. Good luck for buy.
Well the problem is, that according to Navngos site, they dont support WVGA and they havnt listed Xperia as a supported model. This doesnt have to mean that it wont work. But I dont want to buy a program that doesnt work.
I have read about people making it possible to use 800x480 skins.
The only thing I want to know is, does it work with 800x480 and Navngos standard skin.
When you write, "sure, you can run iGo8 on the xperia", does that mean that you have done so or are your only saying so because the xperia has a card slot?
/Miki
You can run IGO8 on PC to, why not run on Xperia. I told you, that you have many skins for this sulution, but I have no Xperia, that you can trust me to 100%.
Im sorry Neo130, but why do you even bother to write anything here when you clearly dont own a Xperia. I get the impression that your experiance with WM devices are very poor when you compare the xperia with a regular PC. I also thought I made it clear that my question was if it was possible to use the standard skin. Im not intrested in other skins. The only reason to look at other skins would be to modify the 640x480 skin to be a 800x480 skin if the Navngo dont have a 800x480 skin.
If you have information regarding a WVGA skin that looks like the standard then please let me know.
I havent got any answer from Navngo yet. I havent got any answer from this forum that the standard skin works. So right now it looks like I will have to look for another Nav program. I wont be buying a software where I will have to make a skin by my self and then hassle with getting it to work. If I know there is a WVGA skin just like the original and that it aint hard to make it work, then maybe Ill buy the program but for now Ill wait.
If any one out there has another nav.program that you like and that works on the Xperia, (not TomTom), please let me know.
/Miki

hi,
Yesterday was an post wich was deleted becaus of moderathor thoth that it was discusion abaut hacked programs.
the thtead abaut tomtom survived. install tomtom and download free map to test the programm.that is tomtom option.
igo8 has also trial .and skins are free. just download , rename data.zip and place in igo folder.
I think the thred was delated because there was link for skin for igo to page where YOu can download also cracked progs.
anyway Ill try to get igo working on x1 sense it was reported to work.
and let YOu know whot is whot.
and for information I personaly dont like Igo8. I have miomap c520 and I think miomap 3.3 has better interface.I dont need hauses on map, like igo 8 has.
buy igo 8 and find in google skin with 400_240
then rename it to data.zip place in igo 8 directory.
then edit sys in program folder. not sdcard.so it stands like this
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
minzoom2D=40
show_exit=1
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="400_240"
vga=1
[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=1
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
that`s all
Thank You Arnisv.
I totaly missed Mio, it does look nice. I dont care about the 3d buildings, probably the first thing to turn off.
What Im after is a good looking GUI, a fast program, fast calculating routes and fast when updating the screen. Its also a must that it should be possible to enter a streets name befor the city. You cant do that with tomtom and in stockholm thats a real pain. Tomtom wont find an address if you only write Stockholm and the street name. You have to be more specific and enter that areas name intstead of Stockholm. Even if I live in Stockholm and have been around everywhere I still dont know all the area names or exact where their boundarys start and stop, and many times due to that Tomtom couldnt find the street.
Didnt find a downloadable trial version of iGO8. I would be very grateful if you could try if it works on the Xperia.
Thanks,
Miki
igo8 has the same search like miomap.
@mikiqtek, sorry for my poor english, but I write that you can run IGO8 on a PC to. That means, a lot of skinner are working for IGO8. And I see skins for your Xperia. You never write from a standart skin IGO. You write, can IGO8 run on Experia - And I say YES, because I read the skinnerforums. And my experience from PPC is about 8 years. I hope you find your answer.
Why not use google maps? It's free...
What's the difference?
Theres a 800x480 skin here

The difference is 3D navigation with turn by turn voice directions, GUI optimised for driving, and full map sets, vs. a 2D map that only beeps at turns, is too complicated to truly read while driving, and has to be downloaded on the fly meaning it will not work if you enter an area with no service.

its 400_240 skin and still need to edit sys
Is there anyone who is using ! it on the Xperia ?
I am trying to. But I am having problems with the data.zip file. I can´t find the right data.zip with includes the 400_240 (or 240_400) folder running with the version of the iGO8.exe.
I got a small success with a copy of the 320_240 folder (in data.zip) renamed to 400_240 - but a part of the screen shows no program window...

Hi
I still have problems with igo on my x1. i loaded the skin from above and actualized both data.zip and sys.txt.
i see the start up screen for about 20 seconds then it crashes.
does anyone know where the problem is?
no problems occur while using the original and official NavNGo iGo 8 software release of the program which is downloadable through their content manager application - as the s/w was updated to officially support Omnia´s screen resolution, the solution described in this thread will work with an official and legal copy of the program, I assume.

I tried both iGO2006 and iGO8 to run on my XPERIA X1 but unfortunately I did not get either one working, though both apps did work fine on my HTC P3300. I now use TomTom Navigator 7 and that runs just fine. That also uses the complete "screen real estate" resulting in fantastic map views, without stretching whatsoever. Hope this helps.
Guys is there a way to fix the really TINY kepyad in TT7? i tried TT6 and have the same problem??
i had the same issue with xperia
I have exactly the same problem - not much help I know but at least you know it's not just you
You need the VGA version of Tomtom.
i have the vga version cab it doesnt work, only the qvga version works
There are several variants of the V7 cab, some of which are for VGA devices and will install on the HD. Check the other threads regarding Tomtom for the correct CAB.
Is the 7.910.985 vga cab the correct one to use on the HD?
Yes it is.
I went through that problem. Version 7.450.9028 doesn't matter if it's qvga or vga has got a tiny keyboard. You have to use 7.910.9185 VGA and keyboard is perfect in that version.
BUT!!! That version is a lot slower that 7.450.9028
So, there is no perfect sollution Good looking or good working
a lot slower in what sense? In the FPS? In the response time? In the lag?
Looks like FPS but it also causes lag
hello,
i've got tomtom 7 installed on my HD2 but the keyboard is extremely small. any idea how to fix that? changing in to large in preferences doesn't make any difference, it's about the size of the status bar on the bottom. the same version of tomtom on my i-mate 9502 works fine. any ideas? thanks.
Make room for a small one
Ironic as it sounds but go into your settings and change the keyboard to smal... its the same on the HD from what I can remember.. If it dont wok dont flame me as I dont own either device but did this on my mates HD and it worked ;-)
didn't work for me.
You need wvga version instead of qvga
I have tomtom 7.916 and the keyboard is perfect. Maybe you have an old tomtom version ?
I have found by using the BSB tweeks mod and enable the TOM TOM Prog to turn to landscape when you turn phone, the keyboard is made much much bigger
thanks for your replies.
small keyboard is the same as large, doesn't matter what i chose.
also, i don't know where i can get the wvga version as the only one i've got is the qvga.
i have tomtom 7.450 which is not newest but it worked fine on my vga screen in i-mate 9502.
I have a cab for 7.9 but it won't acknowledge my perfectly legal map.

We're not allowed to post links to warez sites, but if you were to look at the usual suspect ppc web sites I'm sure there are ways to activate your maps
As far as I know TomTom don't officially support the HD2 yet, but there are ways around this. If you have a legit map and legit TomTom software I personally don't have any issues with you using an alternative source for your downloads.
