Should I buy pocket informant 2008 - Wing, P4350 General

I had the 2007 version and I had to do a hard reset and I can't get it back because I deleted the email. I received it free when they had the promotion. Can somebody help me?

response
I bought the pocket informant8 and it is great. It is well worth the money.

I upgraded to it and I love it so far.
Much better looking interface.
I've been using PI for years so I'm to the point now that I always have to have it.
Also, I have integrated with Pocket Breeze for my today screen. Breeze supports PI and shows all the icons and everything on the today screen. For me, its a must have combo.

Go to handango.com and log into your account there and you will have access to the serial numbers there.

bypass software checking?

anybody know how to full installation into thinking that its installing the device with pocketpc 2002? i'm running 2003 and most of the software refuses to install via setup and pocket plus refuses to install even by copying the .cab file. any ideas what string to change in the registry?
thanks
alex
Pocket Plus is known to be so far incompatible with Mobile Windows 2003 for Pocket PC (aka PPC2003). Core OS differences in the Today plugin spec seem to be preventing it from running.
Watch for an update soon by the great spb developers (no, I don't have any affiliation with them other than the email I got when I asked the same thing).
thanks. i don't really care for today plug in as i want the close button.
You may want to try Gigatask, www.gigatask.com, from the makers of
GigaBar in the meantime
Or if you'd like a cascading start menu with task closer to boot, try
SmallMenu Plus from www.tillanosoft.com.
I use both on the opposite corners of my menubar, and each
complements the other wonderfully.
Oh, and by the way, I've sent you a pm.

Pocket informant or agenda fusion

Hey
Has anyone installed either Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion onto their k-jam or MDA - if so, were there any problems associated with the downloads?
Thanks...
Pocket Informant on K-Jam: no problem. -Michael.

Have tried both; AF is SLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWW.
Stick with PI you won't be disappointed
I use PI 2005. Works perfect.
I had opposite results PI was slow and AF works much better. Infact just purchased AF after testing the trial version. Why not get both and try before you buy?
Frankly, I find them both almost identical in most respects. I found them both a bit slower than I like since moving to WM5, but not much difference. I own both, but I liked the contacts entry better in PI. And it took up less memory than AF.
Both have a trial and you won't go wrong with either one.
Thanks guys - I'll kick off with PI to test and see how I go...

Better Calendar Display

I love being able to access my calendar on my phone. However, it seems like I just get small chunks at a time with the built in calendar app. When I zoom out to see my whole week for example, I only see blue lines. I don't see exactly what the appointment is.
I know that is in no small way due to the limited size of the screen but I am looking for a more effective way to display my calendar.
I am currently trying pocket informant and it gets me closer to what I want. However, it has a couple screwy issues such as the bottom arrow of the scroll bar not being displayed etc.
So, what do you guys use? Or, are you happy with the built in calendar app?
Is there another forum that would be better for me to post this question? It's not directly related to the 8525 after all.
I'm using Pocket Breeze and very satisfied with it.
i use today agenda, its a killer app with many different customizations.. Dr. P got me hooked on this app!
http://tiews.info/index.php?show=software/todayagenda
I use SPB Diary, perfect today plugin that completely replaces the agenda. It's also the only today plugin I use or need.
I use SBSH.net PocketBreeze. I beta tested SPB Diary 2.0 and even tried the final version but wanted more control over customizing so I stuck by PocketBreeze. Still SPB Diary is also a fine product. You can't go wrong with either IMO. If you want to see your appointments in Calendar though I think you have to use one of those Power PIM apps [Agenda Fusion, etc etc] personally I find them overkill for my needs I stay with the default PIM and PocketBreeze.
I like pocketbreeze for the today screen display of the calendar. It's just when I go into the calendar app itself that I'm thinking there should be something better.
I'll check out your ideas. Anyone else?
I like the FREE Calendar+

Not a replacement for the MS Calendar, but rather a Today plugin.
I think it looks very similar to "View as Agenda" on blackberry.
also try out pocket informant alot of PB users also use that app.
Another vote for TodayAgenda. Excellent app. Free, small and highly configurable.
I've been using Pocket Breeze and Pocket Informant together since I had my old Orange M2000 and it works very well for me.

Pocket Informant 8 Evo released!!!

Link: Pocket Informant 8 Evo
This is, for me, by far the best PIM Manager for Windows Mobile. And it's just been overhauled. Head over to www.handango.com and buy yourself a copy.
their own homepage doesnt even show it as released i am already proud owner of PI 2007 and waiting for the free upgrade that i hope will come
Seems the Smartphone version was pre-released. Bug free versions, including PPC, due a little later.
We will just have to wait.....

You need to look in their forums. Here's the link from Alex (founder of the company):

It's just a timing issue, the release is out but the homepage hasn't been updated yet...
Surely the best timing and scheduling program...
I've read that they have a problem with the installer for WM5/6.
I can confirm it doesn't work at the moment. When you run the installer for PI8 it will copy a CAB file for PI7 to your device.
Just upgraded from PI 7 to PI8 through Handango. I was lucky a few weeks ago to get the PI 7 for free through their free app friday promotion.
In case you want to purchase this...here is a coupon worth 25% off at Handango NEWYEAR08
Works through the upgrade also!!!
Cost me only $13.50
Haven't tried to load it yet as I need to work on my whole phone at this point

I've installed it on my device - that installer problem has been ironed out already. It's beautiful!!!!
bugs??
I read it from a forum somewhere that PI8 has bugs where the contacts or appointments dates are jumbled up.... i havent tested this cause i dont have one .... planning to get it though...
anyone can confirm that this bug occurs?
I've been using this program for a few months to help my works organized (though it's a cracked version).
This morning, after knowing they release the new version, I decided to buy it from Handango. Now I have a fully working registered version.
I crashed twice when using this version on my tytn II. Just using for a while only.. Will continue to try for a few day to see how..
PI 8
Works great on my TnTN II !
Supports touch scrolling now, just great
Cheers

Can you use pocketcm as contact manager with this version? With PI7 it kinda took over as default contact mgr and i could never figure out how to use another app for contacts.
The new PI8 has a scrolling feature like PocketCM.....I actually am trying the PI8 contact manager for awhile to see if it is up to par. So far I do not miss Pocket CM.

Not a big deal to get around. Just re-install PocketCM after making PI your default PIM, and PCM becomes the default contact manger with PI7 remaining the default for Calendar and such. Of course, if you click on the contacts icon within PI, it will still go to PI's contacts.
Still need pocketcm for it's chat sms.

Hi Guys..

Highschool's starting here in holland and i'm looking for an application that makes me write down my homework and **** easily..
The default Calendar doesn't work for me because input is too complex and don't need the notes too appear in the homescreen..

Anyone has come across some kind of school diary software..?

SPB Diary does not work on the Rhodium I like this prgrm used all the time but you can't see your appointments in the today screen anymore
Try Office One Note
One Note Mobile will hot sync with One Note Desktop software. So you can quickly capture thoughts on the go.
The desktop software is very good for organizing and searching your notes.
The mobile version is free on your phone. Microsoft has great deals for Student Editions, you may be able to get the desktop software for next to nothing.
Highly recommend it. I use it every day.
Try notes. You can hand write information in that.
