Hey guys,
I love the functionality of HTC Home. However, I wished that the clock part of HTC Home is slimmed down so that there is more space for the today screen?
Is there any fix or alternative software that can please this soul?
Thanks
hpr
wisbar advance desktop...
its great, basically its a launcher that replaces today, but you can embed today plugins in it, so you could make the clock with a small font, then icons for the home tabs underneath, which correspond to programs, or docks, which arer small boxes that appear which have more shortcuts in them..
just a suggestion

Does it have a section for fast contacts ? I've seen phoneAlarm, has most of the stuff except the contacts part. That's what I love because when I'm in the car its easier to make a call.
hotplainrice,
I must admit I don't use the home plugin as I find it rather crude in its look and function. I use a combination of SPB Pocketplus, SPB Mobile Shell, and their telephony plugin (can't remember what its called but checkout their website). I must admit my device is highly customised; however I like it just the way it is.
Have tried to use Wisbar but found it a pain to get the look and functionality that I have been looking for. However I have seen a lot of good stuff on the Wisbar forum so please keep an open mind.
Cheers

yer erm you can make docks with contact pictures, so ive got mine set up to look like an iphone, ive got the phone button which goes to phone, or opens the dock with favourite contacts, then ive got sms, lock/internet, media player and finally my programs dock. And in my programs dock, i have a link to another page on WAD [it can have many pages] which has all my windows today plugins.. so has speed of the iphone and the functionality of windows.. so to answer your question, it does have easily accessible contacts, but you have to customise it yourself..

I once used HTC Home Plugin, but troubled with the weather panel, so I uninstall it, and imo, the closest app to HTC Home plugin is SPC Mobile SHell 1.5 + SPB Phone Suite. Closest to intersface, yet more powerful ability...
just like those two guys, i use spb programs... when i said i had today plugins on a seperate page, i meant i have spb pocket plus 4, with diary and weather integrated into it..
spb programs are great
and wisbar is a pain, but once its done, it works perfectly

There is of course the other HTC app "HTC Plus!" Clock, shortcuts and links to message folders without taking up the entire screen. Doesn't have the weather functionailty or music player control tho
rltoday has a skin that is like HTC Home but is slimmer. Might want to give it a look.
Check out HTC Plus! SHould be on the forums somewhere
Thinking of going down the wisbar way. HTC Plus is too simple, no contacts tab. Thanks guys for the replies.
i can send you my theme if you like.. i paid for it, but dont mind sending it.. just so yoou can get a go before you commit to buy it... but you'd still need to get the wisbar codes (10usd each).

Hey, that was cool, I'd like to have HTC Home Plugins Theme for WisBar Desktop... would you like to share for me too? tq =)
My last WisBar Desktop Theme was modified iPhone theme, create 3 virtual pages; Welcome screen, App shortcut, and Agenda (put pocket breeze plugins there)
thx!
deleted, double post...
check out my phonealarm skin I made long time ago http://www.pocketmax.net/smf/index.php?topic=5136.0
Use phonealarm. Its alot better, less buggy and more options.
I have been using Torx's iphone theme via WAD3 and WAD. I am fooling around with SPB Mobile Shell, but have not figured out how to customize it as easily as I can with Wisbar stuff via Author mode.
Just curious of opinion on who thinks which one is better and why?
Thanks!
Both applications are completely different. Wisbar wont have animations while switching pages on Desktop. Mobile Shell cannot spread icons the way you want. So choose what is important for you or have both!
In my opinion both are not adviced for Pro WinMo users..
Why wouldn't you advise it? I love my Wisbar and WAD. And recently I've tried SPB Mobile Shell because of the Diamond theme (seems to be the next hype, same way it was with iPhone themes)

I am also trying mobile shell - what is the difference between the Now and Today screens? I am guessing you disable the Today screen by unchecking everything?
Thanks
I have found that SPB Mobile Shell drains the battery faster than just plain HTC Home, which is really sad as I love the Diamond theme...
If you want animation(mobile shell benefit) on transition pages..wait for WAD2(animation added) to be out..it will beat mobile shell for sure
WAD vs. SPB Shell
WAD is a application replacing your default WM today screen. You have to add the shortcuts to the apps you want (you can make it Finger Friendly).
SPB Shell is as it says a shell around WM so all the shortcuts are available. It's Finger Friendly and has some nice extra stuff in it. It's not skinnable by default (just minor different looks), but some people here at XDA have managed to create some great skins.
Today vs. Now
Today is the standard WM desktop
Now is a overview page in SPB Shell (with time, weather, appointments, email, sms and missed calls)
Yea, with WAD, and WA3 together, its almost like giving your phone's OS a makeover. I like WAD better but until I finish making a good theme, I'll be using SPB Mobils shell most likely
Both Work Well Together on o2 XDA Flame
Using both - WHY - Like the startup screen & easy system settings - and like the menu's of WAD - Maybe someone will develop both in one - and yes, it's like a full makeover ! The Flame does have lots of internal storeage space & a Nvida vid card - Come on xda developers - lets see something in the future
I looking for a way to get the HTC Diamond style clock on my today screen, similar to the attachment.. I use SPB Mobile shell for shortcuts etc. and do not really want to get rid of it. At the moment I have SPB Time, but that is just a bit boring, I would like to have the Diamond style clock. Is their any way to get this? I have searched for threads to fine HTC Home without any tabs and just the clock, but cannot find a solution to have just the clock.
Could any one suggest an application or something to do this.
do you mean that clock style for spb mobile shell?
if yes, greatbal has a diamond skin for spb mobile shell with that clock.
Hi Dielo, thanks for the reply.
no not for spb mobile shell, but for the today screen itself, like htc home.
Search does not hurt dude, really, it will not bite you in any way...

Kristoff_sz, thats a nice theme, but I don't want to user HTC Home, as I don't like to use the tabs or notification icons, I use spb mobile shell for this. I have searched if their is a way to get rid of them, the icons and tabs, but cannot find anything on this site on how to do it.

Sorry for misunderstanding then.
Well, as far as I know, there is an app called Pocket Digital Clock, but its not customizable, and the clock looks like standard one from HTCHome.
And I think that there is no method to put just a clock like this on today. Maybe some programs like BatteryStatus, rlToday or HTCHome++ can do that, but i don't know about that kind of option.
Cheers
Chris
Chris, thanks for the reply. I think I can create a theme using HTCHome++
cheers
Try this....!!!
Just go to ThrottleLauncher Forums and download the 'ThrottleHtml_alpha' plugin. It's a Diamond-style clock + Weather today plugin with exactly same animations as are on the HTC Diamond phone.
Also,I want to mention that it's first development was started by the Flash-King Twolf on this forum.
Hope this info could help you find the app you want.
Search RLtoday diamond clock you should get plenty of hits.
if you're looking for an animated one you can use FEWidgets
if you're looking for a regular one you can use an rlToday screen i make... search for it.
you can also use Manila2D, Battery Status.. all of them have diamondlike clocks.
Hi guys.
I really like the WM Today screen and the media&radio panels. Is there a way to make a normal windows mobile application out of the media panel???
Motivation for this:
- I think panels are good for putting TFL3D which have a "today" overview themselves, but with the WVGA screen res you can fit so much info on the standard today screen.
- I think SPB Mobile Shell is better as an app (I use the normal version because I think the SPB "today" sucks...), and together with a full crammed today screen it's perfect.
Anyone?
Hey all,
I'm wondering what the best option for a Today Screen replacement or addition to make it more finger friendly on a 6.1 device.
Of course, SPB Mobile Shell is very nice, but I'm looking for something more streamlined, with very, very little memory or CPU usage.
What other options are out there, and what do you think is best?
Anyone?
There is nothing low memory for our limited titan. spb is the best. I suggest to get a new phone with tf3d
do a yahoo search for HTC.Kaizer.Home.Plugin.with.Tabsetting.schen.cab
it looks exactly like the htch touch homescreen, and works wonders. it didnt use too much of my memory <2mb
Have you looked at HTC Home Plugin? I use the HHCv10Final which is the customizer program. The HTC Home Customizer is a FREE tool that allows you to fully customize your HTC Home Plugin settings. With it, you can customize the background, clock, tab icons, and weather icons and more. Another really cool feature is that you can add color to the icons and large display clock your today screen.
If you just install the customizer it will check to see if you have the HTC Home Plugin already installed and if you don't, it will download and install it for you!

Claunch1204 is also good. The file size is only 186K
Yeah I just recently added HHC to my phone and it works great. I highly recommend it if your bored with the default skins
