Hi,
As I know the current Skype for PDA does not support the video call. Do you know any plug-in for Skype or other sofware to be able to use the front camera for video call through WIFI?
Thanks
Skype does plan on eventually adding a video call feature for PPC however right now it's not really possible because of the resources it would take.. keep in mind when you video call with skype it takes tons of system resources to encrypt the video, sound, etc.
Is there any other software for video call, which has PC and PPC version also? I dont need any encryption for may calling.

can i install a dialer skin for IM+ skype from shapeservices.com????
i want to make calls w/ that program and i would like to be able to dial out.
two other things. How can i make a link in contacts, so i can choose to dial out via the skype in shapeservices, or normal phone.
the last is i want a shortuct on my desktop to that special dialer for shape services...
i was thinkin bout this because then i could use area for contacts Have link to dial out via the skype program in shape services (because it dials via incoming calls not over VOIP) and on one of my softkeys i could like it to the dialer for the shapeservices skype program. That way i can click the green button on my phone to dial normal phone, the left softkey to dial shapeservices Skype, and my right softkey either the PCM contacts (if that is easier modded) or the original contacts (doesnt matter to me.)... anything>?
is there at least anotther program that works in the way IM+ Skype works. how you dial a skype # and it goes over the phonelines as an incoming call, that way you get full call quality as well as, since i have unlimitd incoming minutes, then i get unlimited talkin!
any other program that does this, where i can do what i want mentioned in the posts above?
bumpz it up to the top
anybody w/ any concpet lin k this
I don't know why but reading your post makes my head hurt...
I still don't know what you're asking for... so all I can suggest is, have you tried Fring?
im talkin about basically could i get a dialer skin for skype IM+
anybody?? i mean i could then put a bookmark in params to go directly to the dialer skin>????
does anyone know of a good video calling app for the touch hd?
Apart from the supplied HTC dialer, I am not aware of any third party software that has video call functionality.
not sure exactly what you are looking for - but I use VZOCHAT - it is an MSN messenger (instant messaging) type client but it's the only one I can find that lets you make video calls over data connections.
The mobile code is still a little immature and has a few problems but it's improving
Im not a developer, only here to point out couple of things:
1. speed dial is replaced with 'favorites' and shortcuts to direct dial? I'm running a rooted 1.6 on HTC Mytouch 3g and there is still no sign of built in speed dial in sight
2. My bluetooth headset BlueAnt has built in voice commands for speed dial "dial speeddial 1" dials voicemail no problem, appears to be hardcoded by HTC.. but saying a command 'speeddial 3' for example would dial the 3rd entry from the call log - hence goodbye the ability to dial a saved preset # without having to reach for the phone, unlocking the screen, changing the other desktop with speeddial shortcuts etc... so much for effiency
Funny thing that feature works on any other phone with built in bluetooth: nokias, blackberries etc... Hope you guys don't let Google skip adding traditional phone features:
* hope somebody adds a setting to the dialer so users can choose the dialer to popup instead of the call log when pressing a 'call' button.
Simple things make the life enjoyable
As this is a touch-screen phone... you must remember that all features that once used hard-buttons are being phased out by: voice dial, direct dial shortcuts, contact photo shortcuts, etc. You'll find that the quick-search is a one-stop access to most anything with your voice.
Why the Blue-Ant headset wouldn't access these the same way as any other bluetooth headset is beyond me.
I read about some features AT&T now has such as advanced messaging (able to send large files, see status of received/read of messages), HD calls (voice over LTE or something?) and video calls via phone app.
The only thing I see is video calls.
Where are these other features?
I can confirm HD voice works with video call. I'm not certain about advanced messages though
Not supported on this device. https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/features/advanced-messaging.html
weird... why on earth they don't support it on the newest phone they have if they want to push it? lol
