there was a great little fix that someone developed ( I think here on xda ) that makes the folders and files visible on a storage card when searching for a file.
An Example is when a program requests a file location and you tap the ... button to locate it.
Can some one direct me to that link?
i found it problem solved
Just a little note:
If you solve your own problem it can be useful to others to post your solution particularly if they have searched and found your thread.

Anyone knows how to insert a Cemra Template. I did unhide the ROM and found a directory camera\Frames and inside there is a landscape folder and a portrait one. I copied to both and did a soft reset and nothing. please anyone can guide me
I don't think/no I know for sure ,there is no way to get this right , I tried a lot ,it just doesn't work ,even after u use Hidden rom
I hope someone would suggest a solution. It is nice to add many other camera templates
Hi All,
Wouldn't it be great to be able to control which applications ran on your PDA...Ensuring that your users could not run certain apps would be a real bonus.
So I came across a URL that explained just how to do this...

Sadly, for me I am on WM6 but only have access to the WM5 SDK and when I tried to carry out the suggestions I failed with the SMS text error:
Change of Device Settings Unsuccessful
Your device settings cannot be changed by Test.cpf
So I am at a dead end. Can anyone else who has interest step in and assist this beginner to get this function working?
I ran the SDKCerts.Cab on my device and the SecurityOff.CPF file. They were successful and I got the SMS message telling me that the changes in SecurityOff.cpf were successful.
I am probably close to a solution but don't have the background to make the last few steps. Can anyone else assist me please?
Have I just a typo in my test.cpf file (on the URL there is a message about the script containing a typo error - I couldn't spot it though...was it fixed?)
All help is greatly appreciated and would deserve a beer or a cyber equivalent.
Many thanks,
PianoSam.
Could you post the wap-provisioning source you used? So I could check for a typo or sumthin.. I've done the same thing as the blogg describes, and it works fine with me..
I on the other hand, wanted to restrict wceload being loaded via Activesync->Add/Remove programs.. but it seems like RAPI doesn't use the same disallowrun settings etc..
But post you cpf file or you code.. and i'll take a look at it.
Hi,
Thanks for the assistance. I have attached a small zip with the various bits and pieces that I have.
My file is the test.cpf file. What I actually wish to do is to prevent Pocket IE from loading...although my test tried to control the clock.exe file.
all assistance is greatly appreciated and you have already renewed my hope that I might be able to do what is needed...
Thanks,
PianoSam
I'll have a look at it.. but it seems that the Test.cpf is just a doc or a rtf file you've renamed? You know this isn't a "cpf" file that wceload.exe can recognize?
I'll have a look at the registry settings within the file and build a cab/cpf file .. so i can test it... i'll let you know how this goes.. unfortunately, i can't reply before tomorrow.
I didn't realise...
Thanks for your help. I just created my test.cpf in word by cutting and pasting the xml script from the url.
I saved as utf-8 and thought job done. Sadly not.
So what should I do instead? forgive me but I don't know the steps to make a suitable cpf/cab file.
Once again THANK YOU for your kindness,
Sam.
Hi,
I've been trying to remove some push pages from the internet tab, but so far I haven't found a way of doing it. Someone said to look in the registry, the specified key isn't there (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Internet.DefaultCount)
Also, someone mentioned editing an XML file in the Application data\Manila folder. The folder isn't there either. I'm kind of lost at the moment on how to remove all these redundant push pages
same needs here... any help?
cheers

Thank in advance and sorry if there is answer in the forum, but I foud only this tread.
Hi all
I'm sure this has been discussed on the forum, as it bugs the hell out of me and I suspect many others, but I could not find the right search words to find it.
Please point me in the direction of known thread (if exist)
Problem:
Saving to a USEFUL folder.
In most of the applications it uses a useless save dialog box, that only goes 1 layer deep of folders.
I save everything on to my SD card, and as a home windows user I am used to having directories for everything to keep them organised.
at the moment I have to save in /Storage card/DOCS/ then use total commander to move it to the correct place. to open a file I then need to use total commander again to find the file then open from there.
An awful set up.
Is there any programs or hacks that change that dialog box to a folder tree based dialog instead of a 1 level dropdown?
or ever a multiple of dropdowns would work?
Please help - this is driving me mad

Hey, I too hate the standard windows mobile file dialogue, but I remember finding a freeware alternative for my old phone (TyTN II) which I still had lying around on my computer. I can't remember where I got it from exactly, its called gsgetfile.dll and there's a little control panel applet to go with it. I've attached the dll to this post, just unzip to the /Windows directory on your phone. Then install File Dialog Changer, enable and voila!
EDIT: Found the site, http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=752
Thanks for that
I searched xda for file dialog changer and came across this thread:
FDC
I shall try it and hope it doesn't mess up Faria ROM........
Thanks for the suggestion
Damn! must be how Faria made her ROM. I copied the 2 files across and it made no difference at all.
Then I noticed the option in the control panel to turn it on - Doh!
I think I have seen a cab for this, and I have certainly flashed ROM's that have had this capability. But I can't seem to find anything related to this via search.
I want to be able to do a long press on an exe file in File Explorer and have the option of sending it to the Windows Start Menu as a shortcut. Please forgive me if this has been asked/answered before. As stated above, the search function did not reveal any results that were viable.
Thanks and best regards ..... HTR
My apologies, it seems that I have posted this in the wrong location. Please move to the Q&A thread, I did not see the pinned topic "Do not post a new thread, ask your questions here".
I thought it was a normal function of file explorer. It might be called "create a shortcut" or something like that. I do also install file explorer extension. That gives it more functions and is easy to find that cab via search. Good luck
Edit: also, I think it needs to be for a .lnk file and not exe to do the function u wanted.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Search for file explorer extension.
i agree with ivwonka ..!!
,most file explorers have/should have.. these functions ..?
here is such one ..check it out if you want to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421723
( i use it on my blackstone also...)
i also use.. Resco file explorer..( not free ) but it is standard ,but yes ,if you have not got it standard ,then try....file explorer ext,
try it who knows..?
otherwise manually ..copy and paste in... windows/ start folder ( yes ,you know this method !! )
good luck..
willcor
Resco to the Rescue! I had it on an SD card that I had in another device, and it was on that device that I now remember having that ability. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction folks. It is much appreciated.
Too many devices + too many SD cards = 1 confused HTR
