Is there any way to get it so that the device lock (pin lock) can be disabled when connected to ActiveSync or a charger? If I have the phone in the car it locks after a time, which is a real bore.
Maybe there is a registry entry for the delay before locking and this can be changed using a program (activated by keystore / button pressing)?
Any ideas most usefull, as I need to have the pin in place as the Prophet is a minefield of information!
same problem !!!!
the device lock it self during when i try to take good shot be camera !!!
so i need to enter the password to i can back again to camera
if only the device lock it self when i turn it off like window 2003
this will be great
Posted from another Pocket PC / Smartphone website, i have applied it to my phone but not been able to test it yet....
1. Get a registry editor (I used minied of sourecforge.net, because its opensource, but there are many others available)
2. Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Security\LASSD\AE\{50C13377-C66D-400C-889E-C316FC4AB374}
- The value called AEFrequencyType will be 1. Change it to 2.
- Ensure the value called AEFrequencyValue is 0
Exit the editor and reset the device.
From now the device should only lock to the password screen when the power shuts off, as per pre-AUK2 behaviour.
Note that if you go in to the lock settings screen, it will try to change the AEFrequencyType value back to 1. Also, this will *not* work if you have an Exchange 2003 enforced policy for this setting active. The policy will overwrite it.
Thanks for that
I will give it a try and see what happens.
Works like a dream!
Brilliant. Thanks for the reg hack. Brilliant and works a treat. Now, whenever the mobile is connected to ActiveSync or charging, no pin lock.
Glad to be of service, thanks for letting me know it works.
Anyone know howto unlock the order in which plugins appear on the screen? I would like to have weatherpanel above htc home but htc seems to be locked just below the date plug in.
Well, playing with the registry I found changing HLMK\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC HOME\Type
from 5 to 4 does the trick.
Here is the command line flight mode on/off/toggle utility.
Command lines to switch on and off
Code:
\Program Files\rk-FltMode\rk-FltMode.exe on
\Program Files\rk-FltMode\rk-FltMode.exe off
\Program Files\rk-FltMode\rk-FltMode.exe toggle
Developed to support rk-Sleep/rk-Location switch applications but could be used anywhere!
Note: This application requires Compact Framework 2.0
You need compact framework 2.0 installed inorder to run this application. The compact framework is already part of WM6, so if your device is WM6 skip this step. But most of the WM5 devices do not have this update. So you must download here and run the installation on your desktop (then active sync to update your device). Only after completing this step install the application.

Rajesh,
Thanks for adding the toggle funtion. Is there a way to assign either a soft or hardware button to the toggle funtion. Thank you for the help, I am not that familiar with command line stuff. Any help would be appreciated.
so, it is more or less like vijay's phone toggle?

Yes christopher, You need to create a shortcut to 'rk-FltMode.exe' with the command line as specified in the first post
e.g
Code:
\Program Files\rk-FltMode\rk-FltMode.exe toggle
You can use resco explorer or any freeware application available to create the shortcut.

This is basically flight mode on/off switch.. I am not sure if vijay's phone toggle doing the same. But looks like vijay's phone tool is to close the phone application if running. But I am not 100% sure
I am not getting something. I went to /program files/rk-fltmode and in that file there is an exe that goes to your program. I made a shortcut and named it" rk-fltmode.exe TOGGLE". WHen I click on it it takes me to your program but that is it. Could you please give me a step by step instructions please.
I have the at&t tilt if that helps. Thanks in advance.

The shortcut name can be anything...
You need to right click on the shortcut you created.. and choose properties from the context menu
From the window displayed choose the tab 'Shortcut'
now edit the Target as follows
\Program Files\rk-FltMode\rk-FltMode.exe toggle
Click Ok on the top
Now tap on the shortcut you created it should toggle the flighmode for you...
If not let me know i will send you the shortcut
Thank You, I finally was able to make it work. On the Tilt though it only turns off the Cell radio, it doesn't accually put it in flight mode. but it works for my purpose. Again thank you for al the hard work.

Can you tell me what exactly is the 'Security Pin' Is it a sim lock?
Let me know so that I can check on that
Yes it's the sim lock.
In wm6, you can find it at Start -> Settings -> Phone (requiere PIN when phone is used)
There is an VERY old app by HTC that also switches on/off the GSM Radio (ie NO real flight mode) I am using it for years now. Packaged it into my own cab.
It has a very small memory footprint (5.5Kb, no frameworks needed!) and usage is easy: Star the program (the cab puts a link in Startmenu/programs) to togle the radio status.

Security PIN is NOT the same as SIM Lock.
The security PIN is the code you have to supply when you want to use your SIM (ie when the GSM radio is switched on).
You can disable the security PIN like mentioned above.
SIM ock is something else: It prevents you to use SIM's from other networks than the device is locked to. You need an unlock code from your network operator or from www.imei-check.co.uk (you might have to pay for that) OR use some specific software to get rid of the SIM lock (search the forum if there is such software available for your device).
I can't disable. I have a dual SIM. One pin is for personal use and the other one for business...
Of course you can disable the ecurity PIN, but maybe you don't want to...
BTW: For some dual SIM adaptors (like my 15th gen) you have to disable PIN security!

How do you select the sim to make the calls?
Any Hack to Remove 5th Step of Hitting "Unlock" After 4-Digit Code (Like WM5)??? Seems like an odd thing to change in WM6. Previously just typing 4 digit PIN opened the phone. Thanks
Yeah, that would be cool...
Hi guys!
I'm looking for a software for password locking the Touch HD after a defined amount of time (in ex. 5min) of inactivity. The password lock included in windows mobile is too old and ugly for a stylish device like the HD.
Something that looks cool like S2U2 but that also supports password lock. Btw i like the gesture lock that has Android, where yuo have a grid with 25 points and you have to follow a predefined path with your finger in order to unlock the device.
Any idea?
