I've got a problem:
My company uses a Sonicwall firewall; i have to acces my exchange server through a VPN client. It worked on my Blue Angel, but I can't install it on my JJ. I get an error:
"This program can only be used for Pocket PC 2003 or higher"
I tried to get Sonicwall to fix the problem, but they are not doing anything! I got my JJ so I could have fast email on the road (3G) and now I'm stuck with a VGA device, that I can't use for the one thing I bought it for in the first place!
I have the cabfiles for the Pocket client, is there a way to remove the "version check" from it? If so, please let me know, I'll send or post the cab.

If anyone can get this to work, please post here. I'll probably need to get this sonicwall client to run on my Jasjar in about a month. Maybe by then they'll have updated it for WM5.

If the installer is a .cab would it not be possible to repackage ti using wincecabmanager to remove the os version check?

Hi, the older than dirt aim client that was hacked for wm5 still works, but won't install, I had just tried runnin the exe from my storage card on an old install on my wm5, and it worked fine
I see. i know the AIM 2.0 works on WM5 but does it work on WM6 ? i need a messenger that works on WM 6 A.K.A XDA LIVE. lol thanks!
Edit: I raised the version check in aim to install on wm6 normally, it can be found in the wm6 category at the site below.

I have been using a program called imov messenger. As far as I know, it's free and it has AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and Jabber. In order to use it, they require you to create a jabber account but it's fast and can be done from the phone. It's a good program for me. It works on wm5 and wm6 as far as I know.
i use octrotalk its free and has nice features.
Which one is the best free IM program for the 8525 in your opinions?

I have a Hermes but a buddy of mine just showed me his new Wing, and I kind of like the built-in Tmobile IM client that supports AIM/Yahoo/ICQ. Could anyone post a CAB file for this or know if it would even work on my Hermes? I run a standard HTC WM6 rom on my Hermes. Thanks.

hello, i have an unusual problem, my X1 cant use live messenger thru GPRS, after much searching on this problem on this board and others i have found out its because of my current operator, china mobile, apparently you need a special version of messenger to use it on their network, i have found the .cab for this version and it does work, but its in chinese, and since i cant read chinese and my phone doesnt display chinese characters its pretty useless to me. anyway on to my question is there anyway to take the setting from the chinese msn and import it to the live messenger already in the phone? i have included the x1 cab for chinese live messenger. any help will be greatly appreciated, thanx.
ive just realised i have a similar problem...i can browse opera using t mobile gprs mobile internet but when i try to use msn its says there a connectivity problem? Please help me. thanks

same here.... the problem is that the messenger connetct through the privet network (wap dialer!!) and all the other programs (browser,mail,...) connect through the MY ISP data dialer...the messenger should connect (like all the other programs) through the data connaction.
i solved it by leaving only one data connaction but now i dont have wap (mms) dialer
my phone works fine, my only problem is that you need a special chinese version of live messenger to connect to the live messengers servers thru china mobile gprs. and if someone can tell me how i can take that X1.cab that i uploaded extract the connection info, take a english version of live messenger recompile it with the bits of the chinese version so i can use messenger and be able to read all the menus and such...
How can i do this? Please help me to make it so that i only have one data connection so msn works...ty
for your problem just go on manage my connections delete all the connections and make one connection with your service provider settings and name it The Internet
