Has anyone checked out the power information screen in settings, since upgrading to WM6.5?
Mine is now showing :
LAST FULL CHARGE
not applicable
and all other stats are showing zero's
oh yes, it seems to be a bug in 6.5.
After softreset everything change to "0"
again.
yep. same here...
mine too
mine too...
same here...
Yes it is BUG in WinMO 6.5 builds.
HTC got no answer for this too .
Thanks.
Hi
Had the same problem. However I let the battery run down to less than 10% then recharged to 100% overnight and it is now showing battery info, showing 60 hours standby and 1.5 hours usage at the moment.

It does work when you do a 100% charge. For me too... and shows the values updating too... But after using the device for few hours (some time half a day) it automatically reset to ZERO .
Thanks.
Hi
Working okay here still, currently showing 127 hours standby and 2.5 hours usage, of course it may just be a fluke and might stop working on the next charge, but for some reason it is working now.

Phil
Where do you see the detailed hours standby and usage data?
I only see percentage of full charge indicator in Settings/system/Power?
(which seems seems to be working as expected)
Topaz Pure/Tess 4.2/WM6.5
Thanks

If you go to the Settings/system/Power screen, there is an Information tab at the bottom of the screen.
It is on that screen where you will see your usage stats......or not as the case may be!!
ps.
As others have noticed, mine will show the stats for a short time......then revert back to zero's.
I have a non-urgent but pretty weird and annoying problem with my battery status. After charging (usually overnight), it sticks at 99-100% for most of the day if I barely use it. Once it gets below that, it steadily depletes faster and the last 10% is gone within an hour. The battery life itself is fine, for which I'm grateful! If I barely use my phone it will last four days or so and easily last a single day under heavy use. Strangely, if I reboot my phone, which I do maybe once a week, it suddenly ducks down to a more realistic number; say 50% before rebooting and suddenly it's down to 30% after.
Is there any way to fix the meter to indicate the true state? I can imagine there should be some way to calibrate it or I could even calibrate it manually if that's possible, setting the current 90% to 50% and 50% to 30% or so.
It might be relevant to know that I'm using Dutty's 4.3 Final WM6.1 ROM. Does anyone have experience with this or have ideas to point me in the right direction?
I am
I am using duty holy grail 2.1 win 6.5 with modified icons cab and i find that if it seems to be on a certain percentage for awhile i just soft reset the phone and it will drop 5 or 6 percent and start displaying properly.
My battery is similar although not as extreme. The first half of indicated charge lasts far longer than the last half. Also if i reset my phone the indicated charge will drop by around 20%.
It has done this since i've had it on standard Orange Rom.

I have the same problem!!!!!
Other thing I realized is the radio of my phone is always communication, i know that because if Iput my phone near a sound box (like my sux sound box pc) the box make a noise every 4 seconds, stop 10 sec and starts again...
Some one else saw it happen too?
Same battery probem...
Hi at all.
I have the same problem, the phone stay with aproximatly full percentage for 6-7 hours, but after these hours at hevery call the battery go down fast...
And, during the last 30% of the battery percentage the countdown is very fast....
can be possibile only 2 or 3 short calls, at maximal.
Problem of windows mobile software, or htc hardware...?
The battery meter inside windows have the same problem.
Best regards.
Luigi P.
Same issue here.
I believe everyone has it, but as battery life is generally really ok nobody complains.
Same problem here.
When a Battest runs in the background, then is the indicator at 80-100mA but sometimes it goes up to 280 for 20-30 seconds.
I don´t know if there a program which need the battery power or the indicator shows not correct.
I have this Problem since i updated the Radio Rom from 1.12.25.16 to 1.13.25.24.
When i backup the 1.12.25.16 the error is the same.

Anyone else experiencing excessive battery drain on their HD2?
I am interested to know if this is just my phone or if it actually just chews through that much juice.
I have had windows mobile phones for several years so I know all the basic ways to keep battery drain down.
Stuff that I have generally found:
1. If I keep the screen turned on without it going blank I lose about 1% every 2 minutes.
2. If I am browsing that figure almost doubles.
3. My old Touch HD used about 5% battery overnight when in standby but this phone will go through about 25%.
4. The phone gets really hot when browsing (much hotter than my old Touch HD)
I have tried flashing ROM's and Radios but nothing seems to help.
I am not running any software on the phone that I wasn't running on my old HD1.
I have only had the phone for a week so I am not sure if this is normal but I would be very surprised if HTC released a phone that lasts for only a few hours on one battery.
+1
-1% every 3 minutes
-4% during the night (when i'am sleeping)
MAXIMUM : 45/48 HOURS

I wish I got 2 days
we really need extended battery ,hd1 battery was much more better.
Good mate but yes i agreee HTC has come up with a battery eating device this time around. My device on full charge just gives in around 8-10 hrs. This might be dat my EDGE is on and 7 mails accounts sending mails back and forth.
but truly i think that HTC better look into this very seriously cause more and more ppl are suffering in this battery drain..
Any of flashing roms and radio not helping either... did a complete hard reset but no step up
HTC come with longer battery battery for bigger devices soon......
The only solution i see now is get one of those extra battery worth mind bogling £52.87
I've had this problem ever since flashing to 1.66, I flashed the radio to 2.07.50.27 as this was said to solve the problem but it hasn't made any difference after a few days of use. My battery life used to be significantly better when I was on the original stock ROM, so much so I'm considering going back to it
I also know all the tricks as to clawing back the battery drain, my phone is idle on my desk at work most of the time and I don't use Wi-Fi, all the location stuff is turned off as are weather, stock and other updates plus my screen is set to 30% then off after 60 seconds. Despite all of that I lose 1% every 2-3 minutes
It seems to me that perhaps the radio is checking for reception pretty much constantly rather than say, 5-10 mins perhaps? This used to be a problem on my old Blackberry Storm but a few fimware updates solved it, eventually!
The only other thing I've noticed since the update is that once the battery drops below 50% or so, the drain seems to slow, I don't know if this is perhaps because the phone goes into some sort of semi-power saving mode?
Suggestions/hints welcome! I've had a semi-thorough look into this on the forums and tried most of the suggestions but still the problem remains. Will battery life improve after a few charges perhaps as this was a trait of my Storm's battery, the more you charged it the better the day to day battery life was (and no it wasn't because I had it plugged in all the time! Over time the general charge just seemed to improve when roaming).
Thanks!

You need to indicate what services you have running. Do you have any data services running eg: location services, push mail, weather? all of these have a bearing. In addition, network services can also drain a battery, especially if the signal is weak and the phone have to search for a transmitter, or 3g services.

That is a very interesting comment. Although since upgrading to radio 2.07.51.05_2 I have had very good battery life, I too have noticed a slowdown after 50%

Nothing is turned on, everything is set to manual.
As I stated I know all the basic stuff. I understand that all these things have a bearing on battery loss.
Everything I stated in the first post is for when I have nothing running. The phone is just sitting there running sense, thats all.
I have had my HD2 for a few days now. I am on Vodacom in South Africa.
I have not had a problem with battery life.
Yesterday i unplugged from the charger at 07:00. I spent about 1 and 1/2 hours of talk time on the phone, it was permanently connected to 3g doing weather updates etc. Sent and received a couple of sms's. Also played with a few tweaks and reboots.
When i got home at about 18:00 i had over 30% battery. I then surfed the web for over 2 hours to drain the battery.
try setting Network Selection to Manual

Same here with and without stock ROM.
yeah.. the phone is a battery sucker.... another cons of HD2....
This is very interesting to read because I do not have this problem. When I left my HTC HD2 on last night (I woke up at 4 in the morning to get something to drink and unplugged it) and then woke up at 8, it was at 98%. That means it went from 100% to 98% in 4 hours. Not to bad imo.
I am now at work and it is 15:34, and I am at 87%. I have made some calls, watched some videos, send a few text messages. Not much (I am at work so I got other things to do). So 08:00 (98%) - 15:34 (87%) - that's 7 and a half hours, with some calls, text messages and a video.
I am pretty sure when I get home at 18:30 the battery will still be above 75%. Then I connect to my wifi at home, refresh twitter, weather, browse the web a little bit, check e-mail etc. So that will drain my battery a little more.
But overall I have not had any problems with my battery life. I always make it trough a day, and never have a problem like 'damn my battery is almost done and I am not near a charger'.
Some info that might help:
I do not sync ANYTHING automatically. I still have some things to do with my Vodafone contract and do not have an unlimited plan yet. I only sync at home on my own wifi connection. For me this is not a problem, because I only need to refresh the weather each morning to see what the day is going to be like. Twitter I only do when I have the time. Stocks I do not use.
I have screen brightness set to automatic.
I am on 3G most of the time.
I am running the official 1.66 Dutch ROM.
I have some tweaks, games and programs installed.
I hope you all solve this issue, because it just can not be that my HD2 has a good battery life, and your HD2 not
Kind Regards
EDIT @ 17:00 still 87%.
I am in a 3G 2100 only network (I don't have 2G functionality).
ROM: Artemis 3.0
Radio: 2.06.50.23_3
Customization: Seiya 6.5.5
I don't leave any automatic updates on, except for my e-mail account every 2 hrs.
I never close my connection.
The drainage overnight is -3% (8hrs).
The battery lasts at least 12 hrs of intense usage.
Normally I have to recharge every second day (e.g. I charged last night, I answered a few calls, I did some IM and browsing and I still have 73% left).
For a phone with a 1 GHz processor, a 4.3" screen and a tiny 1250 mAh battery I find the drainage is rather decent.
Mind you, I ALWAYS do at least one full charging cycle to my battery after flashing a new ROM. I mean: full discharge, battery out 1 min, full charging in OFF mode, battery out 2 mins.

I have seen this process recommended a couple of times now. What is the theory behind it if you don't mind me asking?
maybe its also becouse some of us couldnt wait using the hd2 when they got it (like me) before it was fully charged for the first time
anyway my battery life has improved a little bit, i was at 74% this morning and did a lot of browsing, installing, tweaking and now its at 3%. it used to be much worse
I have battery consuming problem from time to time.I did everything:
installed new stock rom 1.66;
transfered all data which phone is using from card to phone memory(pictures,icons,sounds.etc...)
all updates are done manually;
Gprs connection is swiched off on the idle after one min;
One night it is loosing from 2 to 4%;
another from 30 to 40%
and it is eating memory from 10 to 15mb
I think that it is radio which is causing battery drainage so fast(to much communication wit a base stations, because when I am checking spb wireless monitor in the morning, there is no any data traffic.
I hope they can solve problem, because it is getting me mad and crazy
Try setting the screen brightness to 10-20% (on battery powered)
and dim backlight after 10 seconds (on batter powered).
It helps a lot, at least for me.

as far as i know, the battery has an integrated digital circuit (ic) which estimates the state-of-charge (soc). the procedure resets/calibrates the ic to obtain a more accurate estimation. since the radio rom is in charge with the power management (among other things), by changing it you decalibrate the "gauge".
i don't know if i've got the theory right but i tested this myself and it surely works.
Dear XDA,
Since a few weeks I began experiencing problems with the battery of my Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F).
It all started with the phone lasting a lot shorter per day and suddenly shutting off at around 5-8% battery left.
Today it was the worst I've ever experienced. I make a short list of what happened.
Charged to 100% overnight and taken charger out at 7:30
Went to the gym, 98% left after 1 hour idle
Bumped an extra 4% when transferring files from PC at 15:10 (from around 78 to 82%)
Watched 10 minutes of Under the Dome and did some Whatsapp
Read an article on the internet
Phone was suddenly at 28% at 19:00, shut it down for a bit
Powered on at 19:25 with only 18% left
Phone died at 19:30 with 14% left. 2h and 40 min Screen On Time. 12 hour standby.
Still able to boot but can't get past coloured Samsung logo
LED Notification stays blue and can keep booting for about 30 more times.
So basically my phone died after 2h and 40 min Screen On Time with still some charge left.
This is the worst I've had so far.
The weirdest part is that the Notification LED stays on after trying to boot it once. The only way to remove this is by taking out the battery.
When the phone was new I was able to at least get 4-5 hours Screen On Time depending on brightness.
Things I tried to solve it:
Full charge cycle and emptying it
Factory reset
Checking for unusual activity (wakelocks)
I've checked for any wakelocks but I think this might be a defect instead.
Can anyone please help me? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance anyway!
Kind regards,
Daniel Collignon

Try a new battery, it can become 'weak' after a while.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Don't worry ! I have gone through this too . A log or a screenshot of BBS , System battery graph would help us . Please share it
well my phone is n910H. it lasts less than a day and it dies when it reach 30% and when i connect the charger it gives me 0%. does this means the battery is faulty or is it a software issue ?
Me too!
I have the exact problem stated in the op. I am pretty sure it must be a callibration issue because I've tried too many times the *#0228#. I've tried taking out the battery and putting it after some minutes. I've tried off-charging, on with screen off charging, on charging, fast charging, slow charging, everything and I have at most 4 hours of use, with 1 or 2SOT.
Sometimes I charge it and it stops at 70 or 75%. Today, it stopped at %50 (off-charged) and I removed the battery, waited 5 minutes, put it back on and it showed 100% (still off). Battery lasted less than 1 hour (okay, I was playing candy crush and clash of clans ).
I use my phone without the power saving mode for a snappier performance, but it's impossible that the battery lasts so little time.
Could you solve it? or just bought a new one?
Battery drain
I have same issue on my Note 4 for a last few months. And it's just getting worse.
Today it dropped from 48% to 5% and turned off.
I even took it to Samsung service and they told me that everything is OK with phone and that I have to change charging equpment.
I did that and it didn't help. It's happening again.
Help please?
I recently bought this phone and I have noticed that the battery is draining fast. The battery level dropped by almost 10% in 15-20 mins while I was just doing normal texting. I have used the phone in safe mode as well and in standby mode the phone just lasted for 24 hrs as opposed to 3 days of standby time as claimed by Samsung. So I was just wondering if there is an issue with my battery or with the phone or if this is normal in S6 edge plus?
Stats according to GSAM Battery Monitor,
Used 85% in 20 hr 10 min
phone - 0%
Screen - 2 hr 47 mins - 25%
Phone radio - 20 hr - 6%
Wifi Active - 20 hr - 3%
Held awake - 7 hr - 1%
App usage - 64% (With Android OS - 24% and Kernel - 10%)
I have already tried restarting the device and the problem still exists and always keep location off. And in terms of data I keep my wifi on and the apps that I use r only 3-4 like facebook, whatsapp, instagram. The main source of battery drainage is android system and screen. I was wondering is it possible that there is a problem with my battery/hardware and I should get it replaced? or it just could be a bug in the system that can go away after the marshmallow update? Coz originally I thought that there is a problem with my battery but now it seems like it could be an Android OS bug.
Had similar issue.
I had similar issue,
Looks like Samsung software's were using lot of RAM and battery.
Disabled most of the apps which I don't use and also the Microsoft stuff.
NFC off. Smart stay off,
Now battery backup is good.
I think everyone is having the same issue with the battery. If the marshmallow update doesn't fix all the issues I'm having I'm jumping ship. I'm at 77% with 58 m on screen time

Yes. I guess u r right, a lot people r complaining about the battery issues. For me i just used my phone for 45 mins with the same screen time and got down to 79% from 100%.
But its surprising to see how some people r getting tremendous battery performance with the screen time of almost 6 hrs in one full charge. Which makes me feel is there a problem with my phone hardware or its just an android system bug.
I have the same problems and I did a lot of testing. I am only getting as much as 10h of TOTAL battery time (I am not talking about SOT). Get it out of the charge at 7~8AM and have to charge it 5PM. I did a post about it here.
