desperately in need of help otherwise i'll be bald

hi chaps,
i have come to you all begging on my knees to help me fix this darn phone. i have a imate JAMin on the vodacom network in south africa. when i originally started the phone and it started installing all those cab files i did what some people mentioned i should do and soft reset it for it to stop adding all that other junk. this i think is about where my problems started. i had no mms facility at all. no one in south africa seems to be able to help me and if they can i certainly havnt been told about it and ive spent ages tracking people down who might help...
my brother eventually led me here...
i am having serious issues with the phone at present. i cannot for some reason connect to GPRS - my settings are still the same as they were. and then this morning when i woke up the phone seems to be dialling and then hanging up and dialing and hanging up and dialing and hanging up. i think its almost as annoying as nails down a chalk board. i have tried to hard reset but it doesnt seem to want to?!
other than that i am a complete novice at this sort of stuff. i have no clue when it comes to extended roms and the like but i would likethis phone to work properly - eg make and recieve calls. use gprs so i can go online via it on my laptop. use skype. send recieve texts. the usual things. i dont need all the fancy shmancy stuff they load and also dont need all the other countries's operating software!!
where do i start so that i can at least use the phone, or reset it so that i can use it? i have looked at other threads but to be honest i dont understand a thing....

i cant seem to hard reset it either - i get to the stage where it asks me to press the send button, but when i press this nothing happens...
is there a prevelance for virus's on these phones? can they even get them through normal useage?

Start >> Settings >> System >> Clear Storage >> "1234" and hit left soft key

htc touch ringtone volume problem

hi i gt htc touch few days back. i was very disappointed with the ringtone volume. its too slow.. i then installed TOTAL COMMANDER nd changed some settings in audiogain..... it was working fine. now my phone has stopped ringing. m getting all the alerts- message, notification etc bt no incoming call alert. wt do i do. how do i go about it. can any1 tel me REGISTRY'S default settings? i have soft reset my phn also bt its nt helping.
n if i go for hard reset will i lose all my data, contacts??
PLSSS HELP!!!

HTC Rintone problem
I have the same problem. It is funny all the staff is working well, but basic phone functionality is buggy.
Hard reset is the workaround ;-(

I have thevsame problem, my 5 months old htc touch P3450 stopped giving sound on ring. Don't even consider it in the time of buy, why the basic functionality is giving problem in HTC brand.
It may be due to some virus?
Please help if any one has rectify this problem.

even i facehe same problem,most of the time after disconnecting it from the computer(as a disk drive}
after which there is no volume...no ringtone..no sound
so i have to hard reset almost every time..(what a drag)
can some one plssss help me out

htc 8525 gets blocked

i have a htc 8525 from second hand and i'm getting some troubles with it. im working in it, everything goes wonderfull when without advice it get freeze or blocked, i dont know the word, nothing respond even the screen, so i have to make a soft reset but it continues working in the same way, and everything i received dissapear like the sms, the emails, everything!...what could i do?...which s the problem?. the htc came with wm05 and always have that problem even when i change the rom to the schap's wm06 full. i really hope some person can help me. thanks

Help phone answering itself!?

I hope someone can answer my question, i have a diamond from vodaphone, ROM 1.93.161.2 WWE, the problem is that when i get a call the phone seems to answer itself, i guess that it is because the touch screen is enabled to answer the phone and it is getting pressed by the outer cover/pouch either in my pocket or on removal.
So, is it possible to make the phone answer a call by the hard buttons only??
if so please tell me how, i have done a search and spent hours trying to find a way on the phone!!
i'm not to clued up on updating ROM's ect so hopefully there is an easier way or someone has a step by step explination.

It's what most of us use here on this forum...

i'm sure this is not your problem but just to make sure.
go to phone settings and click on the more tab. make sure you don't have "automatic pickup" enabled.

Install the cab and the touch screen is disabled when recieving a call. You can then only answer or reject the call with the hardware buttons.

Please Help - Sound Problem (My First EXEC)

Hi, i bought an used exec from ebay and received it right now (the seller sayed it was 100% functional) but it have some issues and i want to know if these issues can be easily fixed, if they are sofware or hardware problem... and... HOW TO FIX THEM .
So... here is:
1.: The phone doens't make any sound, (any speakers works, even when i put a headset it doesnt work). But, when i'm in a call EVERYTHING WORK, i can hear like a normal call, or with speaker normally.
2.: Some times when i turn on the phone it shut down after the "windows mobile" screen or it quikshow the today screen and shut down. So i wait and.. it turns on normally ...and some time after it shows the same issue again.
Please please, help me, i don't know what to do .
Ow, wich button should i press for TURN OFF the phone, not to hibernate...

Thanks but i updated to a new Rom 2 times and the issue is still there and i don't have warranty anymore, the cell phone is used. Please someone help

strangely 2 of my 3 unis have had that issue.
