Hacking XDAII New boy

Hi Guys,
Realy sorry if this is not the correct place for this question, however;
I am looking to make some small ROM changes to my XDA2, therefore I require a ROM tool I guess? would someone please advise what I need to download to be able to access the reg keys etc.
Also I would like to add my own system tray icons, is this possible with ROM tools?
Any help is much appreciated, if further information is required please let me know.

you can put your own programs as cab file in the extented rom
i dont think you can modify the normal rom but i could be wrong

SemiTransparentTop Curtain reinstall cab?

Could someone post a "SemiTransparentTopCurtain" reinstall cab? I installed a theme that did not have one a would like to keep theme but just modify the TopCurtain to show again.

I am looking to do the exact same thing... but have tried the transparenttopcurtain.cab without luck.
So if anybody knows how to add the transparent top curtain which was removed by an installed theme... show us!

[REQ] Backup InternetQuicklinks-Linking favorite to Thumbnail

Hello Everyone, looking for a way to backup my Internetquicklinks and their Thumnails for rebuild after ROM-update (made my Own Favorite Icons, don´t want to reorganize thema again, on by one...)
The favorites itself
...no problem, just export those keys in HKLM\\Software\HTC\Manila\InternetPush\Enabled\... (001,002,003,004,...)
those are the links and their positions on the internet tab...
Icons are...
in Windows\thumbnail\
But how are they linked?
Didn´t find a registry key for it! (Would be nice, not only to backup them, also to change their names from {xyz1234-anything} to {link-forExample...}
Does anybody have a hint for me???
