Thanks keeper for your reply, but it is not the switch which you refer on the link.
Because when i pushed the switch forward it doesn't matter the red LED still burning or when i released the switch it still burning.
Like i said sometimes by random the MDA will go on so the LED is than not burning.
But after a short time it go out by itself and i can't get it on.
The red LED burning is only when i have the MDA on the bat loader.
When not on the bat loader there is no LED of what color burning.
Thanks and Kind Regards
Davidoff

Uh...well, it sounds like a dead battery...

...buy a new replacement battery and check if the problem persists...
If you want to try something before buying the battery, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328981
It's just that your switch might be broken...try and short it with a wire (glue the wires in there), just to check if you have a damaged switch or not.

Can't turn on my xda :(

Hi. I recently bought of ebay an almost new XDA Exec, but when I got it it doesn't want to turn on. The guy who've owned this one doesn't understand anything from hardware. I think the device has stayed without the main battery for a while (after being charged) .. let's say 2 weeks. I've plugged in the battery and charged for 1 hour already, but when I press the POWER button nothing happens. Any ideas how could I fix this? (With turn on I mean absolutly nothing happens when I press the power button)
Bloody well send it back & ask for your money back!

Hi i-nZ,
Does the LED light come on to indicate that it is charging when it's plugged in?

No light. If I remove the battery while charging there is red light and if I do a soft reset there is a red light blink again. What light should I expect?
When it's plugged in with the battery, there should be an orange or green light (orange if it's charging, green if it's fully charged) in the upper left along the hinge in pda mode. No light when it's plugged in would seem to indicate that it's not charging, so it wouldn't be surprising that it didn't do anything after being plugged in, even for an hour. I haven't had a battery die on me yet, but I'm wondering if that might be the case here.
The red light that comes on after the battery is removed is throwing me as I wouldn't have expected it to do anything when the battery wasn't in. I guess that's a warning that there is no battery?
Have you contacted the seller about this yet?
Hmm. I think it is a warning that there is no battery and it is charging, so this is actually great news, cause this means the charging plug is not damaged(i think :S). I will receive my secondary battery soon. The problem with contacting the seller is that it will take ages for him to reply and such. I will surely get a refund for the dead battery if that's the issue, but I must travel in a few days, so I need that gadget working
I've got a brand new replacement battery and it doesn't work again! Again there is no green/orange/red light. Any ideas what could be possibly broken?

Sorry to say, but I think you just killed it by doing this. I believe I read it from the manual that you are not supposed to plug it in without the battery on it.
I've been actually told that the battery has been charged, so it's not a dead battery
I know this might sound stupid; but can you get it into boot mode?
The first xda exec I got had a fault where it wouldn't turn on, however if you pressed the reset button it would come on.
Of course this one went straight back to the shop. My advice is to try and return it.

When i press the POWER button nothing happens. Dunno how to get into boot mode...
Tried to do a hard reset by pressing the two buttons with horizontal line and poking the reset meanwhile, but it doesn't seem to react...
It's the power button, light button and soft reset all at once.
Also what happens if you try and charge it off of a USB connection minus the battery?
Red light, but if with battery - no light.
P.S: Did the light + power + reset. Nothing happens. There is no light blink or something (as I Had on an old pocket pc of mine).
I think it is time to return it and get a refund. Any way you just bought if right? Better do it as early as possible otherwise whoever sold you the device might not take the responsibility.
OMFG!!! The reset button was stuck... Found that myself
All fixed now?
What happened here as the fault looks exactly the same as my current issue....

My phone has been acting weird lately...

So I been having that same rom that was out since Cingular 8525 launch with. I been to lazy to upgrade the rom until the message, IE and the bottom set of buttons would stop working from time to time. So I decided to upgrade to Black 3.01 and the problem still continues but now I'm having other problems like where the screen would fade out into white. Yesterday my phone would not wake up from the white screen so I had to hard reset it. Nows it working fine but now I can't even tell if my phone is charging since it doesn't have that steady red light when its being charge.
EDIT: Also when I click on the Power button to turn it off it doesn't turn it off 100%, I could still see the screen but barely...

I presume you mean steady Amber when charging (that's what you want, RED means it is not charging)
When you go to start> settings> power and check from time to time does it show the charge going up or down when charger plugged in.
Actually I don't like the sound of the "fading to white" you describe. This has been reported several times and is linked to lower keys not responding. (If that comes back again I'd go for a replacement phone - there is currently no fix for this).

Thanks for the info. I just try switching it to the new AT&T rom and I'm still having the same problems. I'm going to call Cingular on Monday. If you have the link to the original rom it came with please post it. I'm going to search for it, thanks!

My TyTN just died - can anyone please help?

I got my TyTN a week ago (actually it is a Softbank X01HT)
The device just died today. I cannot turn it on (battery was fully charged), no lights are on, I tried removing the battery, SIM card, soft/hard reset nothing helps, it seems like it is dead and nothing is turning on even when connected to the power.
Can anyone please advise? is there anything I can do to revive it??
thanks
Does it show a constant RED LED light when you plug in the charger?
Mike
Can you describe the incident that lead to the "bricking" of your tytn?
The more we know the better we can make suggestion/give help.

No light is on when connected, it is just all blank. I didn't do anything actually. Finished a phone call, put the device back in my pocket when I took it out again it was dead and coldn't do anything. No ROM change or software installation or anything. I was wondering if there is any way to "revive" it.
Thank you for the help in advance !

Don't think I've heard of one being completely dead before. There are cases where the battery drains very rapidly to zero charge in a veryshort time and will then refuse to charge. BUT in those cases the device at least shows a RED no charge LED when you plug in the charger.
I don't think I can suggest anything other than warranty / repair. I assume you can rule out that the charger is faulty. This could be shown by plugging into PC using USB lead and confirming that again no RED LED shows.
One final thought but I think it is a long shot and that is to leave the battery out for 10 minutes and then retry.
It may be possible that an internal connector has come adrift but unless you wish to open it up then again we're back to warranty / repair.
Mike
Bad news for me. I was afraid I will have to do that...
Thanks for the reply though.
If anyone else has ny suggestion I'll be happy to hear it

Fire on CM9 won't turn on

[SOLVED]
Hello all,
So I went to turn on my Fire and wanted to boot into recovery so I long pressed the power button (+20 secs). Now my Fire won't start up. I get the momentary green light which comes on but no boot up - just a black screen.
Any ideas...i.e. help? Cheers.
For info I'm running (or I am normally...hehe) CM9. Cheers bis...
does the green light stay on if you turn it on ?
or is it "blinking" - like it reboots ?
cm9 seems to drain the battery in some conditions
may be charging with the wall charger for some hours helps
do you see a sort of backlight on the black screen ?
would verify it with hard power down to see the difference

The green light only comes on for a second after pressing the power button. The screen is completely black. What is a "hard power down"?
Also, plugged into the outlet there is no light, charging or otherwise.
Cheers for your response and help. Much appreciated.

hard power down is meant to hold the power button for ~20sec - till it turns off
if you plug it to the wall charger it can last up to half an hour till the orange light comes up when the battery is heavily drained - would recommend to let it on the charger over night in such a case

Oh yes, that's what I did initially - which I assumed put me in this state. But it might well be that it powered down completely. It's plugged in the outlet so I'll it charge more. It's been charging for over 3 hours and there's still no light, orange or other.
hmmm - the strange thing is that nothing shows up on the display - this implies that it don't have enough power to start to the bootloader or the bootloader is messed up
if the bootloader is messed up there is only one way to load a new one
you have to open the kf for this ...
is it recognized at the computer in any way (shown up or the typical ding ding sound) ?

Problem is I don't have a computer now...I'll leave it plugged in all day and hope for a change of some sort. If not I'll have to do another one of my now famous calls to Amazon. "I don't get it...it just won't start..." And two days later another one arrives. I have to say they are incredibly accomodating on that front...but I'd like to avoid it. Three times is pushing my luck I think...

Yes, that's my experience. I just say "the screen is black and it won't turn on" - they've never had a problem with it.
Well, a thorough charge solved my issue. After the charge, I did a hard power off and then powered on normally. Whew...
Glad to not have to send it back to Amazon...I shall make sure it is fully charged from now on.

[Q] Blinking red led, no boot when plugged in

Hi all,
My Nexus 4 just shut down after going really hot. I cannot turn it on anymore, when I press the On/Off button with our without the volume buttons nothing happens, except if it is plugged in.
In that case, after about 15 sec I have a blinking red led.
I think the problem is material, but I don't know if the problem comes from the battery or something else. I don't want to buy a new battery if my Nexus 4 is dead... So I am trying to figure out if the problem is about the battery or not. I think not because even when plugged in, nothing shows on the screen when I try to turn it on.
What do you think ?
Thanks very much for your help,
Guillaume.

When you get the blinking red led while on the charger, how many time does it flashes ?
Is it the same as this:
"
By red flashing light, I mean: Hold power for 12 secs with good charger connected gives flashing red light: one short, pause circa 2 sec, 11 flashes at one per sec, pause under 1/4 sec, one short dim flash, pause c. 2 sec, repeat. This is the notification LED directly above the USB socket.
"

Hi cxda48,
I have the exact same behaviour : 11 flashes, a short pause followed with one short flash, then repeat.
You have an idea of what it means ?
Thanks !
I had a similar problem. The phone will not start and when you put the red light blinking loaded several times. My Solving: I opened the phone and pulled the battery pins. I connected the battery and the phone started normally.

*similar* but not the same I guess.
It seems like the IC that turns on and off the LED is the PMIC ("Power Management Integrated Circuit"). When something goes wrong, this IC has got some intelligence to give out some information about what is wrong (a bit like the bios on a PC). So 11 red LED flashes is an error code I guess. When the battery is disconnected it's 1 red LED flash (that error code probably means battery not present/worng) in my experience.
I know at least that with the 11 flashes issue, changing / reconnecting a charged battery does not solve this issue
Would anyone have information about what these codes mean ?
this just happened to me. Any solutions?

I thought I should give some feedback on how I sorted out this problem:
After discussion with google after-sales, I sent it for repair to the official LG repair contractor in the UK (SBE Ltd, based in Ashford, UK).
I precisely chose to go through LG repair rather than google because google warned me they would replace the nexus4 so I would
1) loose my data
2) get a potentially worse phone(refurbished) than mine (which is really mint with outstanding battery life)
I sent the phone with instructions on what I think needed done : replacement of the PMIC and *not* a swap of motherboard. When the nexus4 was back, I noticed they ignored my message & swapped the motherboard .
They kept my housing but they also swapped the battery(was not required) and now the battery life is very poor ! I am still in communication with LG regarding the battery issue
